Weekend Reading

I was here for the tea and it was juicy!

I was in the fourth grade when Britney Spears debuted. I remember arguing with my friends and who was the better Britney (me, of course, with the rationalization that I was blonde and my friends were not). So when her memoir came out, I knew I was going to jump right in. I struggled so bad. Maybe its because I hear voices when I read (yes, I'm a little crazy) but the prose felt juvenile. I wanted to be interested but my mind kept slipping to other things. I made it half way and felt for Britney. The tea was so juicy, but the in-between parts weren't enough to hold me. I gave this book 4 days of my life (longer than most) then quit. I heard Hulu turned it into a documentary and I plan to watch it because I want to know more. I just don't want to read about it.

I meant to post this on Monday, and if you saw my TikTok you've already seen this review but OMG! I loved it. Amazing. For a hot minute, I was worried Stephanie Garber was going to drag this out to another book. I would have been so mad but also kind of happy because I did not want to say good bye to Evangeline and the villain she chose. I'm not spoiling it. Even though I want to. Gaaahhh. Such a great final book of the series
