Preternatural Giveaway Continues - David Excerpt
David climbs back onto the roof of his house, but decides to sit there and enjoy the evening air. He again prays to God for help, but expects and receives no answer. Feeling the lingering discouragement, he goes into his room. The sound of his father snoring echoes in the house, and makes it difficult for him to fall asleep. David is continually woken up, although the soft playing of a violin soothes him to sleep from atop of the house.

Preternatural Giveaway Continues - Christian Excerpt
Book 1 Excerpt;
A loud crash, coming from the kitchen, startles him. He stands up, only able to move in slow motion, as is the norm in most of his dreams, and peaks out of his bedroom door. He sees his father drop to the kitchen floor, as his mother stands there with a bloodstained shirt, and her face resembling something he had seen in a monster movie. Her beautiful blue eyes are now bloodshot with pitch black pupils, and are sunken into her swollen face. While she still looks like his mother, Christian knows she is not herself. Something is very wrong.

Preternatural Giveaway Starts Tomorrow!

The figure goes upstairs, grabbing an aged violin, hidden near a large picture window that leads out onto a flat portion of the roof, overlooking over the town. The instrument has several deep scratches, and the walnut finish is almost completely worn off, yet the original strings remain intact. The bright full moon exposes the silhouette of a man. He smells the night air, positions himself to play, and begins a flawless performance.
A pack of three mutated German shepherds pull a dying buck into the front door, eating it as it moans, in the darkness. Each dog is unique, with different parts of their mouths and faces torn off, pieces of skin missing, and exposed muscle on their exaggerated frames. Their eyes are pitch black, and they show no remorse as they feed.
They chomp the raw meat of the animal and devour the deer’s insides quickly and efficiently, covering themselves in the various bodily fluids of their prey. They groom each other and leave the remains, bones and a few splatters of blood that already begin absorbing into the rotted floorboards. The trio travel to the man’s side, sitting obediently, listening to him play. The man finishes his song, as the dogs all howl in unison as they watch over the town.

As this town is plagued by a century old myth.
And that name we fear is Mr. Smith.

Book Soundtrack
Music plays a very key role in my trilogy.
As I wrote each book, I developed a playlist of about 10 songs per book that kept me in the mindset of each story, its characters and helped me focus. I didn't include book 3 yet, as it is still more than a year away from being published.
Has anyone else ever used that type of strategy? And if so, what songs did you pick and why?
