Carrie Looper Stephens first created the Vickland trilogy when she was thirteen. It all began as a story she told her siblings on rainy days and long road trips, or when she was supposed to be doing homework. In 2016, she married her prince charming, and now lives in the beautiful upcountry of South Carolina with her husband Daniel, daughter Elanor, and two cats.

Questions that help me get out of writer…moreWriter's block can seem scary, but it's often an opportunity to take a step back and answer deeper questions. Questions that help me get out of writer's block are: What does my character want? Who does my character want to be? How will my character get what he or she wants and become who he or she wants to be? Character is what drives the story, so taking a step back and delving into a character and letting that character be who he or she wants to be, NOT who I want them to be is a huge step in the right direction.

Listening to music and drinking caffeine also helps. :)(less)
