The Queen of Smiles is Now Available!

A New Road Beckons

For a while, it felt like this day would never come, but here we are, with The Queen of Smiles officially out in the world (or Amazon’s small slice of the world, anyway)! The fourth full-length novel in the post-Break world–and the first to star someone other than Damian Banach, Baby Crow–The Queen of Smiles is part stand-alone, part post-trilogy palate cleanser, and part something that’s still figuring itself out, much like the titular anti-heroine herself. I’m counting down to its release by sharing sample chapters, book stats, content warnings, and whatever else seems fun. A Busy Holiday Release Schedule

With the release of The Queen of Smiles less than a month away, you can expect things to pick up around here again, with sample chapters, release day roundups, and the like. But the new book’s release is far from the only thing that’s coming down the pipeline this season!

Here’s what’s in store, starting with tomorrow’s somewhat surprise audiobook release and then proceeding all the way to Christmas…

The Next Post-Break Novel

It’s almost October in what has been both a very long and very short year, and, per a tradition established all the way back in the before-days of 2019, that means I should have a new book coming out in a month or two. Our topic was “How Do You Talk About Your Writing To People?” Those who know me know that it’s both a subject near and dear to my heart and something I struggle with on an almost daily basis.

While I acted in plays throughout high school, public speaking is something that has increasingly been a source of stress for me as ...

In August, We Adjust

August is always an odd month for me. Most years, I’m doing everything I can to finish the book that’s due to be released in November. This year, I was supposed to be doing that and taking a victory lap after releasing my new series starter over the summer.

I know, I know… I can hear you ask: “What new series starter? Did I miss a release? Am I on the Naughty List now?”

And the answer to all of that is (a) I’ll get to that in a second, (b) no, you did not, and (c) almost definitely, if I know my...
