Beyond Book Sales: My True Measure of Success
I know it sounds like a cliché to say “if I inspire one person it will all be worth it,” but for me it is true. When I wrote my books, it was never about money. It was about sharing a journey that might help someone else believe in themselves.
If just one person reads my story and feels that spark of courage to sign up for a race, go for a run, or simply believe they are capable of more, then every late night of writing and every ounce of energy has been worth it.
I know what it feels like to doubt yourself, to feel like you are too old, too far behind, or not good enough. Hearing that my story gave someone the push they needed means more than any royalty statement ever could.
So yes, I hope my book reaches more people. But even if it only touches a few lives, that still feels like a victory. Sometimes clichés exist because they are true, and this one is my truth. If my journey shows anything, it is that ordinary people can do extraordinary things—and maybe that next person is you.

Writing for Grassroots Athletes and Niche Readers
Writing a book for grassroots athletes is both rewarding and challenging. My story is aimed at everyday runners and triathletes not elites or professionals. People like me who signed up for a race wondering if they even belonged on the start line. People who may have struggled with imposter syndrome the same way I do.
That makes sharing my book a little harder. To pick up a book like mine takes courage. It is not just reading about someone else’s journey it often stirs up the doubts we feel about our own. Am I good enough to call myself an athlete Do I even deserve to wear the same kit as everyone else at a race These questions are at the heart of why I wrote my books but they can also be barriers for potential readers.
On top of that not everyone loves reading. In today’s world of short posts and quick videos asking someone to sit down with a book can feel like asking a lot. When your audience is already niche like grassroots runners and triathletes the challenge grows even bigger. You are not just selling a story you are trying to connect with people who might not see themselves as the audience for a book at all.
But here is the thing. That is exactly why I kwrote these two books. Because if even one person reads my book and feels seen feels less alone in their training doubts or feels inspired to keep going then it has done its job. Writing for a niche market will never be about numbers. It is about finding the right readers the ones who truly need the message inside.
