An Author’s Vlog: Ep 11 Art inspired by the written word
Every year the Central High of Visual Arts, a public school in Puerto Rico that specializes in art, has its annual exhibit. It is an inspiring and beautiful event where the students showcase their artwork, and the school is transformed into a museum. This year’s Expo was inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I’ll take you to it in today’s “An Author’s Vlog”, hope you enjoy it! An Author’s Vlog: Ep 3 An afternoon writing with my tribe

An Author’s Vlog #2: Where the antagonist & protagonist meet
In this writing session, in Old San Juan, I take you to the gardens of a historic house called Casa Blanca. This house was built in 1521 by Juan Ponce de Leon to be his residence but never got to live in it, it has a section with three fountains, and benches where you can sit and relax either to write or read, or just meditate.
Here the antagonist and protagonist have a meeting and she is given a task that will move her closer to… Sorry, cannot give you spoilers. But what I can say is that this story is set in a futuristic timeline, in the Caribbean Antilles and it is a sci-fi/dystopia.

An Author’s Vlog
I started a new project at YouTube. Something that I wanted to do for a while, but I was not sure what to do. Writing this new story has been a roller coaster of emotions, and I have had the desire to set it aside.
An idea popped into my head, and I said to myself: “Go big or go home. Just do it.” I know it sounds cliché, but it has helped me get into my story a bit more and get excited about once again.
I have made recordings of the places I visit to sit down and write. Places that serve as settings in this science fiction/dystopian story. Places that are inspiring.
These recordings I have titled An Author’s Vlog. They are just a journey through an author’s writing process. Join me in each video as I share with you where I write, when I write with friends, when I do not have a good writing day, and more. The video will be out every Thursday at my YouTube channel. Escoge mi pr��xima lectura
“Los libros son compa��eros, maestros, magos y banqueros de los tesoros de la mente. Son portadores de la civilizaci��n”. Esto lo dijo B��rbara Tuchman una historiadora, escritora estadounidense y ganadora del premio Pulitzer. Desde peque��a am�� la lectura, am�� la fantas��a como g��nero literario y la ficci��n, por supuesto. Cada detalle lo imaginaba en mi mente mientras le��a la historia desde la primera l��nea. A��n lo hago y en cuanto comienzo, me transporto a ese lugar donde el autor me ha invitado a ir y ser parte.
Desde diciembre hab��a tomado la decisi��n de no comprar libros para poder dedicarme a leer los que tengo en mi lista de espera junto a mi escritorio. Sin embargo, un regalo de una tarjeta para una librer��a y una visita durante mis vacaciones en Estados Unidos a Barnes and Nobles, cambi�� esto. No, no es que no tenga autocontrol, pero hab��an libros que deseaba tener en mi librer��a y los adquir��. Llam��mosle a esto una manera de autoayuda, no te r��as, lo hago para ponerle fin a los momentos de ocio que no aportan nada a mi vida. A esos que me tientan a prender el televisor y buscar qu�� ver en las diferentes plataformas de “streaming”. Y si me dejo llevar por las palabras de B��rbara Tuchman estoy invirti��ndo en un maestro que me ayudar�� a crecer como escritora; busco compa����a ese rato de lectura; el libro al ser un mago me transporta a tener una aventura en un mundo extraordinario; y me ayudar�� a tener nuevas memorias que son tesoros que alegran al alma.
Estoy pronta a terminar Blazewrath Games por la autora puertorrique��a Amparo Ortiz y no me decido cu��l de los libros que adquir�� tomar como mi pr��xima lectura. Todos son en ingl��s y tom�� esta decisi��n a drede, pues la historia que estoy escribiendo, The Awekening of the Antilles, es en este idioma. Eso me ayuda a enfocarme. Cosas de autores.
