R. V. Mitchell is an educator, a minister of religion, and has served in the Forces. He is also an ecclesiastical historian, and theologian. He has long been a fan of the fantasy genre, and grew up with Middle Earth and Narnia. All have given him insights to things spiritual, things human, and a little of the fantastic; and he tries to bring these into his written work. He is an alumnus of the University of Cambridge.

D. Mitchell is a musician and retired piano teacher. She is an avid reader and book reviewer. Her insights and familiarity with multiple genres of literature have brought balance and a sense of reality into her writing.
