Six Sentence Sunday #28 - The Lawman - Historical Western Romance
![]()
“Are you a whore?” he asked, a small part of him hoping she was.
She gasped, her face turning blood red before splotches broke out across her neck. “I most certainly am not!”
“Are you looking to be one?”
Her lips turned bloodless as she pinched them together. The fire in her eyes caused one corner of his mouth to tilt up and her chest heaved as her breaths were huffed out. Definitely not a whore.

The Lawman
by Lily Graison
On the run from her ex-lover…
Jilted by a no-show husband…
And now mistaken for a whore in the Diamond Back Saloon…
Abigail Thornton doesn't think things can get any worse. That is until a single slap to a man’s face starts a barroom brawl that lands her in the last place she expected to be.
Town Marshal Morgan Avery wants nothing more than to wash away the trail-dust and sleep for a week, preferably with a soft, willing woman by his side. Instead, he gets Abigail Thornton – all one hundred pounds of her thrust at him seconds before a fist connects with his face. Breaking up the fight takes more effort than he wants to admit and when the last man falls he finds Abigail still standing and not looking the least bit contrite.
Throwing her into the town jail for the night would salve his wounded pride and then he will let her go. Or that was the plan. When morning comes he finds himself oddly reluctant to do so. Miss Thornton is hiding something and he aims to find out what, even if he has to bed her to do so. But will one night in her bed be enough?

Six Sentence Sunday #27 - The Outlaw - Historical Western Romance
![]()
She swallowed the lump in her throat and stared into the
blue of his eyes, hating the fact that being this close to him caused her heart
to thump wildly in her chest. He was so warm, his hand on her back like a
branding iron and the look in his eyes... She blinked and focused on anything
but the need she saw in his eyes. But looking at his lips was a bigger mistake.
She remembered the way they felt against her own. Remembered how he tasted, the
velvety texture of his tongue sliding against her lips and she barely contained
the urge to moan at the memory.

The Outlaw
by Lily Graison
Sarah Hartford always dreamed of a grand adventure. She just never expected to find it in the arms of an outlaw.
When her father's bank is robbed, Sarah doesn't make the gunslingers' escape easy. Putting her own safety behind those she hopes to protect backfires when she's kidnapped by one of the escaping men. Now her only hope for survival lies with the same arrogant man who laughed at her while staring down the barrel of her gun.
Colton Avery spent months planning the perfect heist, every detail fine tuned and executed with precise timing. Nothing could go wrong. That is until he comes face to face with a determined woman holding a shotgun. She aimed at his head and never flinched when she took a shot at him. He wanted her the moment the smoke cleared and he saw her face.
Robbing the bank, and handing over the gang of notorious outlaws to US Marshals, would be routine and boring. Sarah Hartford made it anything but. Taming the woman who stole his heart the instant he saw her was a challenge he was more than willing to take on. All he has to do now is escape the gang of outlaws he just double-crossed, hideout from an Indian raiding party and elude the town marshal who just happens to be his little hellion's new fiancé.

The Collective, the Breed leaders of all the preternatural species, haven’t abandoned the dream of announcing their presence to the world and they still want Rayna to be the one who integrate them into human society. Here's a small sneak peek at The Calling!
She sat up on her knees, staring down at him and swallowed a gasp when she saw him staring up at
her.
His eyes had bled to
wolf amber.
She couldn't look away. Although it was Garrett under her she knew the wolf was there. Staring at her with those bright, alarming eyes. She watched him, seeing the creature she’d feared take her and her pulse raced faster. This was the beast that wanted her. Wanted to mark her as his, to claim her as his own, and as Garrett drove her half mad with his mouth, it was the wolf’s penetrating stare that caused her body to shatter, to come undone under the knowledge that some tiny part of her wanted it too.

Books scheduled for 2013

As I've done in previous years, I've set my writing schedule for the year and its a doozy. It would take a miracle to get all these books written and released but I like listing them anyway. It gives me something to work toward and if its down on paper, it holds me accountable.

HIS BROTHER'S WIFE: This is a full length novel set in the town of Willow Creek Montana. The characters in this story are new but we'll get a chance to see some of our old favorites returning. I have 43K of this story already written with an estimated 26,000 yet to go. I've never been good judging how long a book will be so we'll see. To me, its done when its done. *wink*
26K - His Brother's Wife

Night Breeds Book 3: Whether this book will be the next I write or not has yet to be seen. I never know what the muse will feel like doing but this book is on schedule (again) this year to be written. I've had a ton of emails from readers wanting Bryce and Lydia's story and I hope to be able to write this book in 2013. I've nothing written on it at this point so we're looking at a full-length 70K novel.
70K - Night Breeds Book 3

Untitled Willow Creek Novel: We've a new Doctor arriving in the town of Willow Creek and every single lady in town wants to be his new bride. Scheduled to be written.
70K - Untitled Willow Creek Novel

Untitled Willow Creek Novel: I have another Willow Creek novel in the works with a Christmas theme. Crossing my fingers I'll get to this one.
70K - Untitled Willow Creek Novel

Untitled Willow Creek Novel: Just because everyone has asked for it, Alexandra Avery, Holden Avery's tomboy daughter will get her own story. She'll be all grown up and into all kinds of trouble!
70K - Untitled Willow Creek Novel

So, that's what I have planned this year. How many I actually get to write is a mystery as I'm usually a very slow writer. You can check the progress of any of these stories here on the blog on the right hand side bar. I'll list them all there (with the graphics) and you can see at a glance what I've done and how far I've gotten.
Now, tell me. Which book are you anticipating the most? The muse wants to know!

Here's a small sneak peek at That First Christmas!
Her mouth opened in a silent scream, the fine hairs on her body charged with electricity and suddenly she couldn't breath. She gasped, a strangled sound crawling up her throat and then he was gone.
She was too numb to move but opened her eyes, watching him stand over her, sliding his sweat pants over his hips. He was hard, the length of him standing proudly away from his body. When he fell to his knees and grabbed her under the knees, pushing them toward her chest, Meredith shivered at the look in his eyes.
He wouldn't be gentle this time.

Tuesday Teaser #19 - That First Christmas - Contemporary Romance

Excerpt
Travis heard the
shower turn off and felt instantly nervous. It was silly really. He hadn't been
nervous around a woman in years. He certainly hadn't went out of his way to
impress one either, but here he was, standing in his living room staring at the
first Christmas tree he’d ever bothered to cut. It was a great tree, though.
He’d found it on the ridge, sitting off to itself. It wasn't overly large but
neither was his cabin. Anything bigger and they wouldn't have managed with the
thing in the room.
He looked to the
bathroom and turned, shrugging off his coat and hanging it on the peg by the
door when he heard her humming behind the closed door. It opened a second later
and he could only stare when she walked out.
Her hair was pulled up
high on her head, held in place by what looked to be pencils. A few tendrils
dangled down her back and rested on the only thing she wore. A very short
towel. It was barely decent. Water glistened on her ivory skin and all the
blood in his body rushed south when she walked to the bed, turned her back to
him and dropped the towel. Her perfect heart shaped bottom met his gaze and he must
have made a sound because she turned suddenly, flashing him a quick peek at
pert breasts, and lower things, before she gasped, grabbed the dropped towel
from the floor, and quickly covered herself.
