Really appreciated how this book alerted me to the dangers of making a big sacrifice and yet afterwards not being able accept the consequences without bitterness and resentment. What an apt insight into human nature. A timely warning and ultimately a ...more

"First of all, let me just say ‘wow’! The book’s blurb does in no way prepare you for the sheer power of this story.

For some weird reason, the publishers have labelled Agatha Christie’s 6 Mary Westmacott novels as ‘romance’, just because they don’t fe" Read more of this review »

A fun romance with witty one-liners

This made me laugh out-loud. It’s a warm-hearted fun tale of the offspring of two warring families being forced by a magical binding (and some blackmail) into a fake engagement.

""Let's stay awake together."

WHEW! This was the first dystopian book I've read in a long time. I've recently gotten more into high fantasy, but this may pull me right back into my early 2010 years, and I'm here for it!

"ARC provided by the publisher—Saga Press—in exchange for an honest review.

This is not an exaggeration. The Will of the Many by James Islington is the best fantasy book with a magical school trope I’ve ever read since The Name of the Wind by Patrick " Read more of this review »

“Oh yes, I don't deny I married you because I was sorry for you. And then-I found you the best and jolliest and dearest little pal and chum a fellow ever had. Witty-loyal-sweet. You made me believe again in the reality of friendship and love.”

“From the very beginning— from the first moment, I may almost say— of my acquaintance with you, your manners, impressing me with the fullest belief of your arrogance, your conceit, and your selfish disdain of the feelings of others, were such as to form the groundwork of disapprobation on which succeeding events have built so immovable a dislike; and I had not known you a month before I felt that you were the last man in the world whom I could ever be prevailed on to marry.”
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
