When Surrendering Is the Breakthrough We Need {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}
I once wrote about starting the new year with hands wide open ready to receive what God has to offer. I’d realized I’d spent too much time gripping tightly the things of the past while missing out on the here and now. Not to mention the future.
If we imagine our hands filled to capacity and fists tightly clenched around the objects of our current desire, can we also imagine how difficult it would be to add something better if it came along? It would require putting something down – surrender...

The Kind of Love That Heals What Is Broken {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}

To risk love or not ... when loving well isn't easy we need the kind of love that heals the broken. #SurrenderedHeartsBook #Godslove @LetHerBeGreater

Even When You Feel God Is Not There {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:38-39 NLT
It seemed that every obstacle possible presented i...

When Discouragement Threatens Your Hope {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}
Hope. What would you label it? An emotion? An attitude? A way of thinking?
We all have moments or seasons in this life where discouragement settles in and hope loses ground. I know I’ve been there before and I’m quite sure I’ll experience it again.

17 Things Adoption Has Taught Me About Loving Well {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}
The little black ringlets of hair curling round her rosy cheeks and dark brown eyes captured my heart at first sight. It’s a moment I’ll never forget. As the tears came out of nowhere and my heart exploded, it was instantaneous. Somewhere in that place a Mama feels the deepest of emotions, I knew she was ours. God had shown me the little girl He’d hand-picked for us halfway across the world.
It was love.
A love that seemed surreal — but one I knew was a gift. I just wouldn’t understand the...

Why Do We Pray? And Other Big Questions! {#MomentsofHope Link-Up}
My mom would sit alongside me as I lay tucked in my bed. Each night she would pull out one of my two favorite children’s Bibles and with her beautiful German accent, read a story to me. Then, together we would pray the Children’s Prayer.
Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Guard me Jesus through the night and
Wake me with the morning light.
Then we would close thanking God for our blessings and asking Him to care for those we love and those who are hurting.
It’s a me...
