Have you ever read a book and started laughing right from the very first page, and you instantly knew that this was going to be one of your favourite books of the year? Well, this is exactly how I felt about Red, White & Royal Blue, the amazing, utterly refreshing and empowering queer NA rom-com novel, by Casey McQuiston.
We’d gone with Apo, my boyfriend, to spend a weekend on the beach and -naturally- I had to bring a book with me. To make you realise how completely mesmerised I was by this book, let me just tell you that I applied a bit of suncream again after three hours of reading. Good thing Apo didn’t let me burn, I guess…

Are there only five bookish fandoms?
I was talking with my friend Nikki the other day about all the books we’ve recommended to each other and the three books I need to buy soon (Yes, buddy, I promise I’ll order The Foxhole Court by the end of the month), and it occurred to me that there are so many fandoms out there that don’t get the appreciation and the recognition they deserve. Like the Vampire Academy series or The Raven Cycle, the Heart of Thorns series or the All Souls Trilogy. They’re all amazing series and yet, we don’t get to hear a lot about them.
After chatting with Nikki for almost three hours, I couldn’t help but wonder… Is it because the bookish community, from subscription boxes and BookTubers, to bookstrgrammers and BookBloggers tend to focus solely on five fandoms?
