Our first anniversary ever! Happy Birthday, Dense MC-kun!
Greetings, everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve been busy lately and I am hard at work on the fourth volume! Speaking of which, today is a very special day here on the Mofu Blog! Well, it is the fourth of July, but this event bears some significance too! Yes, as already given away by the title – today marks the one year anniversary (though technically, the real date was the 1st, but that’s just between us) for my debut light novel series,

In recognition of this most momentous occasion, I asked the way too talented Official Artist to do a special illustration to celebrate! BEHOLD!
Hnnnggggg, words can’t express how pleased I am with how it turned out…. Seeing all of these characters that I have created, beautifully rendered for the world to admire by such an incredible artist, I truly am fortunate to have met her… If you’re reading this, Alice, thank you so much, for the billionth time, you absolutely knocked it out of the park! Of course, this amazing illustration would not have been possible without the support of all of you wonderful readers! Thank you so much for everything, seriously, I am blessed to have your company. Now with that mushy stuff out of the way, it’s our first anniversary, wow! This is a huge milestone, it’s surreal to think that we’re on the 4th volume already! Ah, while on the subject of Volume 4, I bet some of you are wondering about the next episode of this series, yes? Well, it’s not ready just yet, but since today is special, I might as well share a few details!
- Volume 4 should be ready around the end of August.
- Nearly all of it will be from Tomo’s perspective, however, Hiro has a little bit of screen time.
- Unlike Volume 3, the vibe will be more laidback and lighthearted, like the first 2 novels. This sort of slice-of-life atmosphere is what encompasses the majority of the series, however there will definitely be a few heavy scenes spread out in the future.
- It has a prologue with a similar opening to Volume 2.
- I can confirm that there will be a new heroine (Geez, that dense guy really is too popular) introduced in this episode. She hasn’t been mentioned in any of the prior volumes, but was certainly planned to show up since this story was conceptualized. This character will make her debut appearance on the new cover along with Kana.

Once again, thank you so much for your incredible support! I still can’t believe that it has been a whole year since the first book debuted! It only feels like yesterday when I wrote the proposal for the idea which would kickstart everything… And for those of you who are celebrating, happy Independence Day! I hope you have a safe and fun holiday with your loved ones, though that’s the case for every day! While you wait for the next episode, please admire how cute Tomo and friends are and it’ll be over before you know it! Until our next meeting!~

Some disappointing news, but also something very exciting!
Hello, everyone! I missed you all very much! My apologies for the lack of updates, life gets quite busy and things often don’t go as planned… Anyway, I have some updates about

First, Volume 4 has been delayed until the later half of October, quite possibly even dipping into early November. I’m really sorry about this and I know how agonizing the wait can be, but the cover isn’t finished yet and more polishing needs to be done until it’s ready for release.
On the bright side, I do have some good news to announce! As a result of all of the delays, an extra chapter was added to Volume 4! I made this decision with Volume 6 in mind (that is not a typo, I plan far ahead) and I really do believe that these scenes feel very much at home here in this episode. It just made too much sense to include them here, trust me! This puts Volume 4 at approximately the same word length as its predecessor and it might be the longest entry in the series thus far, depending on what happens during the final editing pass! …Though, most of you somehow manage to read all of that in like a single reading session…ahaha…
Ahem! In addition to this, I am also pleased to announce that the illustrations and physical paperback releases are official underway! Yahoo! Unfortunately, Alice will not be the one to draw them. Don’t worry, she will still continue to do the covers, character designs and some promotion stuff, so basically nothing changed! And based on the rough sketches that I have received; I have no doubts that this new artist (who I’ll announce soon) will do an equally incredible job of bringing these beloved characters to life! Tomo looks absolutely adorable in their style, I can’t wait to share their amazing artwork with all of you! The plan is to start with Volume 1 and work our way through the series until we eventually catch up. These are HD, fully colored (for digital) illustrations, and there will be at least 1 per chapter! Readers who own the books will get them in a free update just like I, Who Fell in Love with the Other You, and I will raise the price of the books once they go live, so please keep that in mind!
With that out of the way, I wanted to thank every single one of you for your readership and patience. The decision to go forward with the illustrations was only made possible by your wonderful support, thank you so very much for believing in my small series! T_T I promise to keep you posted when Volume 4 releases and you have my word that it will be worth the wait!
