Enter: Chris as author!

I am a sixty-something mother of three amazing sons, grandmother of one cute little grandson and a pretty as a princess granddaughter. I have been married to the same absolutely amazingly patient man for nearly forty years.

I spend my days obsessively writing. (Wow, I really do!) And I have been known to spend way too much time gaming on a borrowed X-box.
A degree in Performing Arts and English Education from Rowan University, a job as a professional proofreader, and more than fifty-years of experience as a voracious reader of multiple genres (most especially fantasy), honed by a level of maturity I didn’t possess when I was in my twenties, hav

I usually go back, read what I wrote before the block and figure out what needs changing. Once I make the changes, my thoughts usually flow again. At this point, I've only published one book, but I've written four and am working on the fifth. (less)

"The Sorcerer's Bane is a great introduction to a new world; C.S. Wachter has created a very intricate world to explore.

As this is book 1 of a four-part series, not all answers are given to the reader. However, we find out that an adventure is to be s" Read more of this review »

The premise is interesting, and the book starts off with nice details and some quick action. Julie Hall is a talented writer. The main characters in this story, however, reminded me far too much of the main characters in her last series.

This is a well-told, creative, and delightful tale. I couldn't decide if incorporating interspersed comments from a group of future main character selves was a plus or a minus. Though creative and unique, it tended to pull me out of the main story bu ...more

C.S. Lewis
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

C.S. Lewis
“Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

C.S. Lewis
“At all ages, if [fantasy and myth] is used well by the author and meets the right reader, it has the same power: to generalize while remaining concrete, to present in palpable form not concepts or even experiences but whole classes of experience, and to throw off irrelevancies. Bat at its best it can do more; it can give us experiences we have never had and thus, instead of 'commenting on life,' can add to it.”
C.S. Lewis

“The Holy Spirit is always the dynamic, the power for any of the things God will do. It was the Holy Spirit working in the Old Testament in every sign and miracle. God is causation; Jesus executes the will; the Holy Spirit accomplishes the work.”
John Wright Follette, John Wright Follette's Golden Grain

“God’s first thought is not what we can do, but what we can become. Works are subservient to what we become.”
