Catherine was born and brought up in Cardiff and is proud of her Welsh roots. Growing up she loved reading and used her local library constantly.

She studied English Literature at Oxford University and subsequently started her career in industry – at first in HR and then in Leadership Development. She has a Masters’ degree in Organisational Behaviour from London University (Birkbeck) and is a Fellow of the CIPD.

Catherine’s books result from her 30 years’ experience of coaching and training leaders in top multinational companies, including Airbus, Google and Audi. I guess the issue is that other people in the team feel that the project leader isn't up to the job as they haven't got the skills? If that's the case, I'd advise the other team members to look at what the project leader does bring to the role - they must have some skills/talents that caused them to be appointed. Maybe the other team members can learn some things from them? And the other team members could maybe offer to help plug the gaps in the project leader's knowledge? eg offer suggestions, or offer to help the project leader on some aspects of the role? I hope the project leader feels able to discuss their lack of knowledge with the team members, and is open to getting help from them, while offering some opportunities in return.
