A Peek Inside TDJ Soirée
It’s hard to believe a week has passed since we were all together exploring the six TDJ Tenets, noshing on warm vegan beignets, sipping green juice, making connections, creating action steps, watching TranquiliT come to life on six gorgeous models, and reflecting while surrounded by art, chandeliers, peonies, and the sounds of piano.
Earlier today I posted some of these photos on the TDJ Soirée private Facebook group and asked about any ripple effects from our time together. By focusing on a Tenet or area that needs attention from our Seasonal Life Reviews (in Year of Tranquility and the Daybook), we can take micromovements or small shifts toward growth.
Here’s what I shared about my own:
“For me, I’ve been more cognizant of CREATIVITY. For example, I scheduled creative adventures for Mom all week and even pulled pages from my Daybook to outline her schedule with a highlighter. I met up with friends for hand lettering practice. Mom and I spent Friday night practicing our drawing “skills” with Flow’s 50 Ways to Draw Your Beautiful Ordinary Life. (Why are teapots so hard to draw?!) We wandered the three floors of Bethesda’s Anthropologie store and were flooded with inspiration. I shared a few new photos on Instagram (an ongoing creative outlet that helps me see ordinary moments with a fresh eye).”
Earlier today I came across this F. Scott Fitzgerald quote, “For what’s it’s worth, it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be . . . I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
Although the Soirée has passed, I hope to continue challenging myself to live these Tenets and to infuse my days with beautiful moments through creative play, mindfulness practices, self-care, and more. Who’s with me?! Bisous. x

Daybook Bonuses + TDJ Live {Please Read}
The Daybook made her debut at Sunday’s Soirée and comes as a PDF or in print on Amazon. I’ll be doing a video to introduce her shortly (once the Soirée dust settles). Stop by our Daybook Facebook group for inspiration.
Learn more about her HERE and grab your FOUR bonuses: a virtual launch party (6/28), a workshop (coming 6/30), a Spotify playlist, an assortment of PDFs.
PLEASE NOTE: If you input your email into the bonus sign up page in May or June 1-10, all the data was lost due to a tech glitch. Although you have your bonuses (yay!), we can’t send you an invite to the June 28 virtual launch party or let you know when the video workshop goes live unless you resubmit it HERE. I’m SO sorry for the inconvenience.
The same thing goes for Sunday, June 23’s TDJ Live. Ugh! If you’re hoping to join us for the FREE seasonal event happening next weekend, please resubmit your information HERE.
When Tim and I realized this yesterday, my heart sank. We contacted the app developers, no luck. Ah, the constant fluctuations of {technology} life and the best laid plans.
I am SO excited to host you for next Sunday’s TDJ Live and the following Friday’s Daybook Virtual Launch. We have LOTS of inspiration coming your way this month. Thanks for being here! Bisous. x
P.S. Since I get this question a lot, I wanted to clarify the difference between the two books featured above. Year of Tranquility: A Lifestyle Planner has no weekly layouts and 12 essays/4 weekly practices not found in the Daybook. It’s more of a lifestyle planner and you can search inside it on Amazon. The Daybook has 60 weekly layouts plus all the Year of Tranquility lifestyle pieces MINUS the 12 essays and associated weekly practices.

Last Weekend
On Saturday we hosted our fourth annual Yoga + the Animals event at Burleigh Manor Animal Sanctuary and raised $1650 for the sanctuary and our micro-grants. Here’s a video showcasing the event. Before heading out, we climbed into the pig area to share watermelon rind leftover from our vegan lunch and you’ll see that Mabel (the pink one) took hers and ran.
We freshened up to host the TDJ Soirée VIP meet and greet in my office complete with sparkling rosé, olives, vegan cheese, rosemary crostinis, macarons, and tunes by Madeline Peyroux.
TDJ Soirée dominated Sunday. Guests arrived to the sound of Heather’s piano, the scent of lavender, and a warm welcome from Mom at registration. She doled out luxe goody bags and a 25-page workbook tucked inside a gold folder.
The programming included the six Tranquility du Jour tenets: creativity, mindfulness, style & beauty, compassion, wellness, and self-care. To tie a bow around the event, Tim and I recorded a live podcast (coming later today), guests shared their takeaways, and we celebrated the day over organic wine and passed hors d’oeuvres such as beet tartare, smoked parsnip soup sip, and tomato sashimi.
You’ll find a few photos that have trickled in from my photographer, Marie, below. More to come!
In the interim, a BIG thank you to Maria, Patricia, Betsy, Lorraine, Melinda, Jean-Marie, Anu, Julie, Deborah, Robin, Linda, Alicia, Amy, Neesham, Barbara, and Rebecca for joining this experience. I’m honored to have hosted you!
I’m also SO grateful to Mom, Joanna, Carol, Patricia, Tim, and Renee for your support throughout the day. Whew, it DOES take a village and I’m glad you’re part of mine. Bisous. x

Tranquilosophy: Take a Pause
In many a piece of music, it’s the pause or the rest that gives the piece its beauty and its shape. And I know I, as a writer, will often try to include a lot of empty space on the page so that the reader can complete my thoughts and sentences and so that her imagination has room to breathe.
—Pico Ayer
Mookie is barking. Gizmo is crying for me to lift the water bowl to his chair so he can drink without having to get down. The cat is knocking his bowl against the wall to indicate he’s out of food. The house is full of treats and sweet details packaged up for Saturday’s Yoga + the Animals and Sunday’s TDJ Soirée [join the waitlist]. My graphic designer is waiting on my edits to wrap up Sunday’s workbook design.
I notice the thin coating of black hair covering everything, yes everything, and realize the Pink Palace needs a deep clean before Mom arrives on Friday for 10 days. My desk is overflowing with paperwork that needs processing, drafts, a pink sketchbook filled with ideas, and an author proof copy of the Daybook that arrived last night. I call around trying to find someone to remove sutures from my latest gum graft as the periodontist has unexpectedly gone on medical leave.
Welcome to my morning.
Despite the chaos, I knew I had to make time for a pause. I enjoyed a green smoothie, tackled the to-dos I could manage, and hit the yoga mat before heading in to the office until late tonight.
It’s when life is at its craziest that our self-care often takes a back seat. After years of studying and teaching tranquility, I know how important these pauses can be.
Do they solve the pet hair, overflowing event supplies, or life’s unexpected setbacks? Nope, but they sure make the process more pleasurable.
What pause can you take today? Savor a cuppa tea, walk around the block, take five deep breaths, go to bed early, spend time with your journal, roll out your yoga mat, take a nap, call a friend, or thumb through a magazine.
Hit the pause button and tune in. Listen to your soul’s longings despite the barking dogs, crying kids, and buzzing phones. Just five minutes can make a BIG difference. Give your imagination room to breathe. Bisous. x

NEW Pant Debuting at TDJ Soirée
It’s hard to believe that an event I’ve been dreaming about and planning since February is happening THIS weekend [click here to join the waitlist].
In addition to live music, 100 light pink ranunculus flowers, the scent of lavender, luxe goody bags, a daylong tranquility masterclass, vegan fine dining, organic wine happy hour, and a like-hearted community, we’ll also be celebrating the release of the latest Tranquility du Jour Daybook AND debuting this not-available-online-yet NEW TranquiliT wide leg crop pant.
I’ve spotted this pant everywhere over the past couple of months, so I asked my local seamstress to create the sample featured above. It’s similar to the palazzo pant (but shorter), not as wide as the gaucho, and has the parfait pant waistband.
Wondering how to wear the pant? It dresses up or down and pairs nicely with heels, clogs, ballet flats, sneakers, and more. I’ve paired it with the 2in1 fitted top (of course, it’s my go-to). Here’s a piece on how to wear this look. And another. And one more.
Look for this versatile pant over on TranquiliT.com this summer. Here’s to easy, chic, comfy, eco-friendly, locally-sewn, seasonless clothing! Bisous. x
