Goodreads Review: 3 books from author Cornelia Funke
The Princess Knight by Cornelia Funke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is not a princess book. It’s a person-power book! Vi is determined and clever and preserves to achieve mastery over a sport that does not come naturally to her. Her father, the King, does not understand her, but he comes to respect her skill and independence. She truly paves her own way in life.

Goodreads Review: The Case of the Stinky Stench
The Case of the Stinky Stench by Josh Funk
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
My youngest is a very hard-to-please reader. When I hear him laughing aloud when he’s reading, I know I picked a winner! The latest winner is The Case of the Stinky Stench by Josh Funk, which is illustrated by Brendan Kearney. My son started the book liking the character names (Sir French Toast, especially) and followed it all the way to the end to the “cool” map of the fridge. The way they solved the problem in the fridge...

Goodreads: Two from Eric Rohmann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This cute and cuddly tale by Eric Rohmann is all about not expecting the worse from a new experience. Yes, snow is wet and cold. But can it be fun, too? Yes! We all need reminders to look on the bright side when something is unfamiliar to us. And the kittens – what a beautiful and playful way to illustrate that point. Embrace the unusual with open paws!

Readers’ Favorite 5-Star Review of Tess
A 5-Star Review from Readers’ Favorite for Tess the Princess Dress!
BOOK REVIEW
Reviewed by Erin Nicole Cochran for Readers’ Favorite
Tess the Princess Dress by author Lia Brent is a charming tale about a princess dress. The pages are bright and full of color. There is a definite kind of energy that jumps from page to page, a kind of vitality that will be recognized and enjoyed by many ages, from the very young to those who are very young at heart, if not so much in actual years. The voice t...

Goodreads reviews: Rhyming Dust Bunnies & Is That Wise, Pig?
Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
You have to like the rhyming dust bunnies, especially Bob! A funny misunderstanding between Bob and the other three dust bunnies resolves itself in perfect plot-twist fashion. These Sesame Street lookalikes, a cross between poof-balls and personified bunnies/dogs/mice, are wonderful characterizations of inanimate objects. All my kids could predict the first plot twist, but not the second one! Also, young readers will have no problem r...

Goodreads review: G is for Golden
G is for Golden: A California Alphabet by David Domeniconi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Perfect for a broad overview of California! I read this book in hardcover years ago when my sister-in-law lent it to us. My kids read it and I returned it but then recently I found it was available as an eBook so I read it again. I know why she wanted it back. It’s fun to read over and over!
Goodreads reviews: Gianna the Great, Books 2 & 3
Halito Gianna: The Journey Continues by Becky Villareal
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
In Halito Gianna: The Journey Continues, Gianna continues her genealogy search and makes some surprising discoveries. Becky Villareal has done it again! After reading the first book in the series, Gianna the Great, I couldn’t wait to read the next one. I had to find out more, especially about her dad. since she didn’t live with him and I felt so incomplete after finishing the first book. A new character joins in t...
