Day 2,503: Intense

September always seems to be intense. Anniversary. Birthday. My brother died in September. It’s HOT.

It was an intense weekend. Intensely GOOD I should say, but intense nonetheless. I feel kinda wiped out.

Life changes are happening, again, good ones, really really good ones— like leveling UP kind of changes—but change takes a lot of energy. I will say this, though: we did some things this weekend that I’d been putting a lot of energy into the anticipation of, and now that we’ve DONE them,...

“The Pirates of Orion” (Star Trek: The Animated Series S2 Ep1)

That episode when you learn that “Orion” is pronounced like “Oreo” with an “n” on the end! Who knew?! Ira tries to convince Josh to watch The Room, we decide that the new word for “cool” is “coke,” and we take a quick tour of the dope stories from childhood including Masters of the Universe and Lion King.

Day 2,502: Six Years of Bears!

Happy SIXTH ANNIVERSARY to the love of my life, fire of my fire, Panda of my Bear, Elizabeth Ho.

Six years ago TONIGHT we were wed in Maui. Goddamnit, just thinking about it makes me want to go back there and do it all over again. For reals.

I am so happy we did it six years ago. Being married is dope. Seriously, it’s the fucking best. Our wedding was the best, and our marriage is even better. You make me a better person, bear, and I couldn’t do anything I’ve done since then without you. Y...

Day 2,501: Hot Shit

It was 113° today.

Eff that noise. What is this, Vegas???

Seriously tho…we did absolutely nothing today because of it. We stayed inside after getting our asses up early after staying up decently late last night to walk the pups before it got crazy hot…and then promptly went back to bed.

Got to see the A’s beat the Padres. That was fun. I saw that the Angels beat the Astros in both games of their double header, so that was super productive. I did some podcast editing. We watched the movi...

Day 2,500: Wow

Twenty five hundred days. Wow. That’s…

That’s a lot of days. This started as a challenge. It became a mutha fuggin lifestyle.

Work was light today. FINALLY! Damn. I been working my tail off for the past two months, and finally, work was actually light today

Day 2,499: Pandaversary

Liz and I started going steady 16 years ago today (give or take a couple days). It was our “anniversary” for ten years before we got married and our anniversary became the 6th. But we still celebrate it now because we have for so long.

Pretty amazing.

We just exchanged cards, ate some cake Liz got for us from Susie Cakes which are just about the gd prettiest cakes you ever did lay eyes upon.

Both of us worked today, really. That’s about it. But, we did it together. That’s the magic abo...

Day 2,498: And The Writing Was Good…

The writing was good today.

Hasn’t been all too frequent I could say that over the past couple years, but the writing was good today. I finished a scene—really finished—that I’ve been wrestling with since I started writing this new book. It works now. I love it now. It gets to stay now.

Sure…it could change in the future. I haven’t finished the book, after all. But I’m not scared of THAT kind of rewrite. That’s a rewrite that comes with further insight. A better idea to nail down something...

Day 2,497: Again…

Again…it’s already sleepy time and I’m sitting here writing my entry for the night. Sigh. Need to get better at that. Tomorrow!

Work was buuusssyyyy today. I thought maybe this week would be a bit less intense. Nope. But, that’s okay. I’m keeping my head above water.

I actually did my writing sessions today. Like, for real. Thank lord. I even just wrote a little bit about my opening scenes for EfRT tonight, scenes I can actually see WORKING in my head, that make SENSE. That’s exciting.

Day 2,496: Accessories

So, we bought a camera about a week ago. Our first REAL camera. We’ve been using our iphones to take photos now for the past ten years. I’ve never had a CAMERA camera before.

Now we do. It’s called a Sony a6400, and it’s really cool. Got a good deal on it—a great one, actually. So good, I think it may have been a mistake. The store that was selling it for the price we got immediately took that online listing down as soon as we bought it.

Today, a BUNCH of the accessories I’d ordered came i...

“The Jihad” (Star Trek: The Animated Series S1 Ep16)

Earthquakes! Convertibles! Lava! Loc’d up dudes! This is the episode that has it all! Josh feels like Miles O’Brien is being wasted on the Enterprise and airs out his feelings on Riker, we absolutely fall in love with this episode’s self-confessed ‘coward,’ and Kirk *gets* hit on for once. This episode grew on us the more we talked about it!
