Day 2,721: Money Moves

The writing is still overwhelming at times, the times when the answers aren’t coming free and easy. But, I will say this: it’s not defeat I feel any longer. I trust my sense of when something is there and is not there. AND this time, I have a writing partner, who’s already been an enormous help. The audience I’m writing for…they go nuts for a story that has some authenticity to it, and my co-writer can help me bring that. It’s…exciting. And intimidating.

Day 2,720: Failure

I set a goal this weekend that from the moment I set it, I knew I was in trouble of not being able to reach it. I wanted to finish this scene by scene outline of my book, and I did work on it! I put in several hours today, in fact. But, it’s not done yet. It still needs work. There’s still plot points, characters, and more that I have to figure out.

Day 2,719: Quick One

Making it quick tonight because I’m ready for the pillow…but it was a nice day today. I didn’t do much of jack sh*t. Just how I needed it to be. EXCEPT…got my hair cut.

Feels nice.

A’s won. That means we won the series against Houston. Crawling our way out of the hole we started the season in. Hope it continues.

Dubs won. But, James Wiseman, our massive young rookie, fell really ugly on his knee, and I’m worried he seriously injured himself. No word till tomorrow. Hope he’s okay.

Day 2,718: A Quick One

Have to do a quick one tonight because it’s so late…but once again rocked the writing, rocked the Netflix work, and rocked the podcasting. It was an interesting watch tonight. Some good, some bad. Not exactly sure what place it has in the pantheon of “classics.”

Love podcasting. So good to dive into that stuff.

Day 2,717: Primo

Life is so expensive, man. Everything cost money.

Wrote and worked like a madman today. I did three full writing sessions. Three hours. That’s the most I’ve done in I can’t even remember how long. And I got GOOD work done, too. This outlining is taking me way longer than I expected, but it’s really coming to life as I do it. I can see it. And that’s what I need to get to writing. To exploring within the writing, make it fully come to life.

Day 2,716: Extra

I did my work today…but I didn’t get any *extra* done, which I’m both perturbed by and perturbed that I’m perturbed. Like…I don’t have to do extra, you know? It should be OKAY to just do what I set out to do and keep it at that.

Plus, I have time to do more extra tomorrow. Which, I will. Netflix work today was more intense than the past couple weeks, but not too bad. I was still able to get it all done on time. Early, in fact. Hopefully it’s received well. We’ll see.

Day 2,715: Clunker

It’s kind of crazy if you think about it: the Original Series cast of Trek made six movies together. Of those six, there are definitely highs and lows…but the only outright BAD film out of all of them is Star Trek V. The rest are all pretty damn good. The rest of them all WORK. It’s pretty goddamn amazing.

Decent day today. Not great. I didn’t go all out with my writing session this morning, but that gets fixed tomorrow. I have scene walkthroughs to do. Beginning to end. Might take me a while...

Day 2,714: Stop Asian Hate

The above is the main message today. It’s a persistent, constant fear for so many of the people I love. Being attacked. Nobody helping. Nobody speaking up. So, I will help. I will speak up.

We must all act together to stop this infuriating, sickening rise in violence against the asian communities and individuals in our country. It’s not okay.

Day 2,713: Luxe

What a WEEKEND.

Fam is back out of town again and home. We’re quite spread up and down the coast, my family. I definitely don’t see them as much as I’d like to, and especially not this past year.

It’s been a long time, now, since I went up home to Humboldt, especially. I think it was fall of 2018? Maybe ‘19. For my Dad’s birthday. Too long. That’s gotta happen this year. I’ll find the time.

Day 2,712: Backyard Movie Night

We went to a backyard movie night tonight and it was AWESOME. Movie projected up on a big sheet screen hung on a fence, all of us in lawn chairs with blankets and pizza, drinks, and snacks…it was heaven.

Heaven.

I want to do it again.

We watched Godzilla vs. King Kong, which was a ridiculous movie, but the PERFECT movie to watch with friends and family and make jokes and laugh about. Omg it was such an amazing time. LA is perfect for stuff like that.
