Day 3,120: KG
I’ve had the sliver-est amount of time, lately, and I’ve watched a few movies! I’m so far behind on my 100 movies for the year, BUT…there is still time to catch up. Gotta jam a lot of flicks in the next two months, but I think I can get up to 50 by the end of next month. We’ll see.
Anyway…watched this Ed Harris submarine movie called Phantom. It was terrible. I mean, fun, in a very pulp-y kind of way, but jesus. That script was ROUGH. And the ending was reaaalllyyy disappointing. “Based on a ...

Day 3,119: Meow
Tommen is with us again!
Had a gorgeous dinner with Stephen and Thida out in our courtyard. Beautiful out. Ate pho and mochi donuts. So nice to hang out with them before they head out for Italy for a vacay. Love those two. We’ve really become super close friends over the past few years.
Better day today, anxiety-wise. I got some stuff done. Just a little bit, but some stuff. Enjoying my new haircut. Film School episode will post late, but it’s not the end of the world. It’ll be up eventual...

Day 3,118: Slipping By
The days slip by.
Not pushing the petal to the metal right now, y’all, and you know what? I have to be okay with that. One step at a time. Not all at once. Slow and steady wins the race. Early bird gets the worm.
The second Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movie is so good, y’all. The scene where he’s stuck riding the pony. Chef’s kiss.
Night night.

Day 3,117: Energia
Man. Not a lot of energy today. Which, I think was to be expected given that I podcasted last night. But…I was fine. I got done what I *needed* to get done. I’ll have to work over the weekend, but not crazy-like.
Warriors just closed out the Memphis Grizzlies in decisive fashion. Close, physical, rock fight of a game all game, and then in the last half of the 4th quarter, we crushed them. Pulled ahead and held them back.
Warriors are back. I don’t know if we’ll win a title this year, that ...

Day 3,116: Open Door
Our door is open right now to our bedroom. A big sliding glass door that we put on the wall into the courtyard. We have string lights up across the courtyard. The crickets are going ham. We have a mockingbird singing off in the distance too.
It’s glorious.
It’s also late. Podcasted with Josh. We watched a DELIGHTFUL flick called The Vast of Night. Not nearly as serious as it sounds. It was charming as fuck. Right up Ira’s alley. Josh nailed it on that one.
Now, bed time. Night night.

Day 3,115: Treatoz
The pups get QUITE the smorgasbord of treats before bed. Coops gets a whimzee for his teeth, and Coco gets a few bits of kibble. And then both of them get half a dosequin, which is a tasty treat that has joint health stuff in it. I swear, Coco’s entire existence revolves around food and treats. Coops is slightly more varied. His existence revolves around being near humans…and treats.
I had a productive day today that actually made me feel a little less stressed out. Whew. Thank lord. Still ha...

Day 3,114: BizE
Omg. So busy, y’all.
Work is legit nuts right now. Worked 12 hours today. Plus writing. Plus client work. And doing an audition with Liz.
I mean…amazingly productive day. I got my shit done, and that always feels very, very good. I’m also wiped. Feeling a bit of burnout settling in, tbh. I’m just so busy, with so much to do. An impossible amount of stuff to do.
Sigh.
But…the trick is take it one day at a time. So. That’s what I’ll do. Get some rest, back at it tomorrow.
Night nigh...

Day 3,113: Three-One
Warriors are up 3-1 on the Grizz. They need to win one game to close out the series. I’m not taking it for granted, but it certainly feels better to be up like this, opposed to tied 2-2.
I had…a long, looonnggg day today. But, holy shit if I didn’t do everything I was supposed to. Whew! Wrote. Great session. Got my work…mostly done; enough done…podcasted. Got todays’ podcasts all edited and posted, too, even though they were late. Even got to watch the end of the Warriors game.
A good day....

Day 3,112: Not Enough TIME
Maaaann…I was really, reallly hoping to have my office finished today before work started up again tomorrow.
Alas, it’s not going to happen. Still too much to do, and I need to go and get the GOOD wall anchors. The ones we have left are just not sufficient. Not good enough. I’m stacking two Ikea shelving units on top of each other, so it’s super important for it to, you know, be anchored to the wall and stable.
Once I can get that monstrosity up, I can get rid of all the boxes in there. An...

Day 3,111: Journeyman Plumber
The ice machine is WORKING.
In the “new” kitchen—new to us, but definitely not objectively new—there was no hose or other water access for the fridge to use for ice. It’s not that far from the sink, so running a hose wouldn’t be THAT big of a deal, but still…
We’d asked some plumbers for quotes to do it. The bids we got back were insane. One was $300. To run a hose. And add a fitting to the valve under the sink. So, we were like “eff that, let’s do it ourselves.”
Today, we did. Liz foun...
