Day 3,150: Josh & Wardell

Man. Today was a monumental day.

First of all, MASSIVE massive congrats to my bud, my best friend, my ride or die Joshua “This Muthafucka” McClenney. His debut feature film is now available on Amazon for rental or purchase. It’s called Monroe. Just search for that title in your Prime Video app, and it will come right up. First search result. It’s an art-house noir thriller about a contract killer with MAJOR insomnia who meets somebody and starts—maybe—to lose his mind. Black and white. Writte...

Day 3,149: Living The Dream

Liz brought out her senior year scrapbook tonight—uncovered in a bout of unpacking and reorganizing she suffered from this afternoon—and it was kind of wild reading through it how much she’s literally followed the path she set out for herself at the age of eighteen.

I think something we might forget too easily is that we love what we love all the way back at eighteen. For the most part. Not completely, sure, and I know there are many people that find what they really love later in life…but ev...

Day 3,148: Lick lick lick

The pups sure do a lot of licking at the end of the night. Lick lick lick. I love it so much. Truly. That’s what bedtime sounds like.

It’s late. Need to make this a quick one. TIRED. Extra tired. But, my day was crazy.

Writing was fine. Working on my last act. Have to figure it out. Client work was great. Work was busy as fuuuuck. Got my hair cut. Wiped. Hoping I can get in a nice long nap tomorrow. We. Shall. See.

night night

Day 3,147: Americans Are Wild

Both Liz and I were reading the same article on melatonin tonight; how the entire rest of the world, basically, restricts the use of the stuff and only prescribes it in very specific, acute cases of insomnia. But here, we sell it right over the counter.

Doesn’t seem like there’s strong evidence of harm that it can do…but it does artificially inflate the hormone…or whatever it is…enzyme, I think, actually…it does inflate that like 300x the amount our brain makes naturally. Ugh. I’ve read befor...

Day 3,146: Late!

It’s already past bed time. Need to make this a fast one:

Got to see Tiffany and the kiddos, Crystal and her kiddo, and Damien and Darryl today down in Newport. They have a giant new house, and they made brunch. Twas delightful. That took up the first half of the day, basically, and then we came home, took a nap, and then I went out and worked on my office some more.

It’s coming along out there. I wanted to be done with it this weekend, but it’s okay that it’s not. Significant progress was...

Day 3,145: ABBA

Abba wrote the hits, man. They were kind of a machine weren’t they?

Writing this on the phone tonight because I just realized I left my iPad out in my office and I’m too half-naked now to go get it. Yes. You read that right. Half naked. You’re welcome.

Productive rest day today! I usually struggle with my off-days. Lots of floating anxiety over what I should be doing, how much I should be resting, etc. Little bit of that today, but not much. I had an epic nap this afternoon that was desper...

Day 3,144: Chicken and Lamb

I went (a little) viral today on Twitter. Couple thousand likes. Never happened before, so that was cool. Just a stupid little joke.

Dubs won. It was A GAME. We were done at one point. It looked like it was over, and if we went down 3-1, it would have been over. Truly, I believe that. We had to win this game. And we did.

Whew.

Got my work done. Didn’t get in a nap, but I did get my full eight hours of sleep.

Now…to sleep on time and up tomorrow to continue cracking away at this outli...

Day 3,143: Oysters

It’s a late one! Podcasted tonight instead of Friday. It works out perfectly tho because the Warriors play tomorrow night, and I’d miss the game if we podcasted. Obviously.

Movie was great. Digging this latest project we’re doing of just showing each other random films. It’s really, really fun and you can hear it in the live recordings we do.

Writing was solid today in that I did it, and I’m digging into this particular storyline and figuring it out. Frustrating in that I haven’t figured i...

Day 3,141: Boy Band Song

I went and saw the new musical my wife is helping world-premiere: Chriskirkpatrickmas and it is SO GOOD.

Chris Kirkpatrick from NSync has one christmas wish: for the band to get back together. But, he’s visited by the ghost of Marky-Mark to travel through the past and reevaluate who he really is, what he wants, and what makes him special just who he is as Chris.

It’s a really, REALLY sweet show, and the music is SO GOOD. It’s playing right now at the Fringe Festival here in LA. Go see it.
