Day 3,128: Dropout
The weight of lies, man. I think lies might be the heaviest thing in the known universe.
We just finished The Dropout. It’s sooooo gooood. Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews are…they should win Emmy’s.
I’m familiar with much of the Theranos story already. We watched the HBO doc on it a year or so ago, but this show. It goes so deep into it. I mean, certainly so much of it is fictionalized, but all the BIG stuff; spot on. Based on actual interviews, court docs, etc. It all lines up, and wha...

Day 3,127: glfkdshlad
Man. Today.
19 kids and a teacher were shot today by an 18-year old in Texas. He *fought his way* through law enforcement to carry out the shooting.
Work was fine. Warriors lost, but I got to hang out with Medwards. Writing was good, so was client work.
But, man. Having a hard time with those dead kids right now.

Day 3,126: The Rollercoaster
Today was…
I was going to say a rough day. And it was. Not for any particular reason other than burnout, mind you…but still rough. Or, maybe “off” is the word.
But, it wasn’t just rough or off. It actually started off great. Or…no, it did start off rough. I didn’t get up. I didn’t get my writing done. But, then I had a genuinely great meeting with one of my clients. And I had a really smooth work day. And then in the late afternoon/early evening, it was rough. That vague sense of needing t...

Day 3,125: Enterprise Heist
So, the refit Enterprise model, the one from the movies, is sitting in Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin lobby. He bought it, presumably from the big Christie’s auction in the aughts, when Paramount offloaded a ton of Star Trek memorabilia and ephemera.
All the comments in the Twitter thread are about stealing her, and it just made me think: that’s a movie right there. The Enterprise is real, somehow, with little people inside, trying to free her to go back to space where they belong. And they need he...

Day 3,124: Bet Your Bottom Dollar
Stumbled across this really cool little facebook group tonight. Randomly, genuinely, because I’m so rarely on that site any more. Trump kinda ruined it for us all, didn’t it? That election. Those two elections.
Anyway…it’s a Humboldt County history group, where people post old photos of where I grew up. It’s SO COOL. The coolest thing from when I was a kid? The railway used to run. It dipped below profitable in the mid- to late-nineties, I think, and so they stopped running trains up there…bu...

Day 3,124: Men and Women
Great day. I got my selves up in my office!!! Last BIG thing to do in there now is put up the curtains.
Got my Netflix work done early enough to do Film School early. Knocked that shit out of the park. Ended early enough to watch the Warriors game with Joe. Delayed, but still. Dubs won. We might go all the way. Looney had 21 points or something crazy like that.
Great day.

Day 3,123: Slumin It
Breakthrough day today.
I was pretty much done with work around midday…and so I organized and “managed” all the cables for my desk. HOLY SHIT am I happy with how it turned out. Nary a stray cable anywhere. I was able to plug EVERYTHING in, hide everything, coil everything, and use this little plastic zip-tie-like things to tape it all to the under- and backside of my desk so you can’t even see anything is there. It’s…magic. I love it so much.
Tomorrow, I think I’ll have time to set up my s...

Day 3,122: Ketchup
Exhale.
I got “caught up” today with work. Phew. Gonna TRY to push it tomorrow and get ahead. Get my office squared away. Stick in this groove I’ve found with writing—literally just by getting my ass up on time.
It was a good day today. Exhausted, but not TOO exhausted. Woke up on time. Didn’t even take a nap! I know, I know. I’m a beast. I’m crazy. Watch out!
Writing has been pretty good. Ran aground a bit today. Nothing to bad, though. Will attack it again tomorrow morning. Full day t...

Day 3,121: Catchin UP
I feel like I’m catching up a little bit.
Work is in a groove again, FINALLY. Finally getting ahead, about to wrap up this latest big-ish project and all the other little ones, too, that have been a bit of a deluge over the last couple weeks. And I’ve really been digging using my lunch and then the evenings to start and then finish a film so I can put it on my movie list.
I watched Rush Hour today. It’s INSANE that I’ve never seen it. I know. How did that happen? No clue. Couldn’t tell you...

Day 3,120: KG
I’ve had the sliver-est amount of time, lately, and I’ve watched a few movies! I’m so far behind on my 100 movies for the year, BUT…there is still time to catch up. Gotta jam a lot of flicks in the next two months, but I think I can get up to 50 by the end of next month. We’ll see.
Anyway…watched this Ed Harris submarine movie called Phantom. It was terrible. I mean, fun, in a very pulp-y kind of way, but jesus. That script was ROUGH. And the ending was reaaalllyyy disappointing. “Based on a ...
