Day 3,180: Back in business!
Had a god writing day today. I need more brevity on the section that I’m currently working on, which probably means I’ll lose some of the those pages, but…
This book is getting written y’all. And I do still fully intend to make up the days (yes, DAYS, unfortunately) that I’ve fallen behind. Even that shit out over the course of the whole 40 days. It’s so, SO EMPOWERING. This book is ready to go. That time spent outlining it was MONEY, because now I can just write the damn thing.

Day 3,179: Behind
Oh, I’m woefully behind on my writing, BUT…
I have time tomorrow to write. I intend to make the most of it. I doubt I’ll catch up, but I can get in some solid time. It’s a hard schedule to keep, ten pages a day. Especially with people coming into town, and just LIFE happening. But, I don’t regret it. I’ve written my first 100 pages faster than I’ve EVER written them before, and that is a massive, massive win. Massive win.

Day 3,178: Two Days Back
Well, blerg. I’m two days behind on the writing now. So, you know, maybe I *need* an extra day of leeway per week. That might be the lesson here and if it is, so be it. It’s not throwing me off my game, y’all. Still getting my ass up tomorrow and cranking out 10 pages.
I love my job. I really do.
Joe, Madhuri and Ashika are with us this weekend. It’s so good to see them.

Day 3,177: Upstream
It is LATE.
Podcasted tonight with J. We have Ashika in town starting tomorrow night, and podcasting with her in the house wasn’t gonna fly…so we met tonight. Watched Upstream Color. It’s the sophomore film from the guy who did Primer. Not quite the classic Primer was, but I still enjoyed it immensely.
Got some HUGE news from my bro. Great news. I’m so excited.
Work was good. Busy. Got my shit done though. I think I might have even figured out how to stop a leak without calling a plumbe...

Day 3,176: Of The King
Man. We watched Sphere tonight, the movie based on the Michael Crichton book…
It was so bad! Barry Levinson, what the fuck happened man?! SO bad. We loved it, though, in that way we love all horrible 90s movies. I remember one day we just watched Volcano, just because it was on. I’d never seen it. Can’t remember if Liz had…what a day.
I got my pages done. Got my work done. Bing bang boom.

Day 3,175: Of Course He Did
Making it a short entry tonight, only because I want to go to sleep on time and get up on time tomorrow.
Busy day! Productive. Lost a little ground I had made up from writing extra yesterday, but that’s okay. I’m still within striking distance, and I’m SUPER HAPPY with what I’ve written. Like…stoked. It’s so fun.

Day 3,174: Novelist
I’m wiiiiped. Not exactly what I love writing at 10:30 on a Sunday night, since I usually try to REcharge over the weekend. But, alas…here we are. And it’s great, actually. I got aaallllmost all my shit done today.

Day 3,173: No Time
Another late night. And it was another movie! This time, it was with bear…we watched the last Bond film. It was…fine. Not great. Definitely wanted to tug some heartstrings that it did not. And that’s always unfortunate. Fukunaga is another one of those directs who is VERY close to being amazing…but not quite there in the end. I loved Maniac overall, but it was just not quite all the way there. It could have had me in the palm of its hand, but it didn’t quite know how to pull all the strings.

Day 3,172: Nuts
We watched The Lighthouse tonight for the podcast. It was CRAZY. I loved it. Not perfect, for sure, but it promised crazy and it delivered fucking crazy, man. Well done. That’s all I ask for.
Next week we’re watching The Thing. Josh knows nothing about it. I can’t WAIT. Classic.

Day 3,171: Not Quite
Okay. Four days in. That’s how many it took for Ira to not quiiiitteee reach his page count. But you know what that sound is?

It’s quiet as a church mouse right now, because I ain’t sweating it. That metaphor/sentence has so much wrong with it, but whatever man! Seriously…I’ll make it up. Probably over the weekend, but I will. Hopefully tomorrow. We’ll see. Work will have to cooperate.
