That was easy.
Well, not really, but yesterday, I finished the rough draft for book number ten. Today I'm going to tweak it, just because I'm having a hard time letting it go. I'll clean my office, make sure my back-up files are current, go over the rewrite letter for Madison III to plan my attack there, and go have tea with a writer friend.
Oh, and hit the "easy" button and laugh.

Is it Friday yet?
I almost forgot to post today, caught up in trying to get to my keyboard. I've got one last push, and then I'm done. Got the last chapter outlined and the dialog written before I called it good last night, and thought about it all last night. (Sleepless. I was sleepless.) So after I do the excercise thing, shower up, and grab a new cup of tea, I'll be focused on breaking the dialog up, taking out the bits I don't need, and then turning the last page. Whoo-hoo!
And then it sits for...

Ten! And we have a few teaser pages!
Tucking my hair back, I squinted at the parchment, trying to form the strange angular letters as smoothly as I could. The ink glistened wetly, but it wasn't red ink, it was blood—my blood—which might account for the slight tremble in my hand as I copied the awkward-looking name scripted in characters that weren't English. Beside me was a pile of rejects. If I didn't get it perfect this time, I'd be bleeding yet again. God help me. I was doing a black curse. In a demon's kitchen. On...

nine and three-quarters, nine and three-sixteenths
I threw a note to my editor yesterday about me putting a few pages of chapter one up on my website, and I've not heard back yet. This means one of three things. Either she's ill, she's slammed with work, or Harper is working something up concerning sneak-peaks and it is so close to being done that she's waiting. I'm uh, hoping it's not the first, but since the excerpt was going to be my drama box today, I've got nothing for you.
Oh. Wait! While I was updating my Harper pages, I did see...

Final countdown
I've got three chapters of rough draft left in this beast, and a good plan on how to achieve them. Just gotta get them on paper. Today should be a good day writing, and if I'm lucky, I'll get an entire chapter done today. There is just one thing on my calendar to interrupt, and that's delivery of a file cabinet. My old file cabinet is so full I am literally jamming pages into it.
I'm feeling kind of fuzzy right now, so I'll also be slamming the Echinacea tea to ward off whatever is...

No snow here, bleak forecast, hints of sun
Bleak forecast, hints of sun, and I'm not talking the weather. I was going to have a nice post this morning about the restful peace of snow, (I've done my share of shoveling, and I maintain snow is peaceful) but alas, no snow. We didn't get even any rain out of that huge front that came through. I'm blaming the statues.
The bleak forecast I'm talking about is in the writing field. If you are a writer, published or un, my agent has a handful of very informative posts on his blog this week...

Nothing to see here, citizens
Errrg. It's Thursday? How did that happen?
I'm a little bewildered in that the week is almost over. I didn't get done what I wanted, but there's two days left, and I'm very happy with what did come out of my printer yesterday. Ahhhh, I think I'm going to coast into the weekend feeling good. especially if there is a chance we might get some snow. If it does, I'll have pictures.

My dog's got bling
Aleix got a new collar yesterday, and I am sooo happy. Not because it's new, but because it's bigger! She's always been small for a standard, (I didn't want a teacup) but the vet assured me she wasn't too skinny. She had access to food all day, and it worked for her.
Xander, though, is a chow hound, and had packed on the weight under the same feeding schedule. We've been on a measured amount, twice a day for about two months. Alexi always left half her food, and was slowly loosing...

Wash-Rinse-Repeat
If you stopped by yesterday, you would have heard me moaning about getting back to my keyboard, as in "I can't wait" not "I don't want vacation to end." Trust me, I like my weekends, but I'm all funned out right now. (grin) So yesterday I got back to work and, as expected, cranked the pages. Didn't get out of my office until 8:30 pm, but I put the smack-down on the keyboard and got a whopping number of pages under my belt. Holy smokes, it felt good to get something done. If not for Guy...
