Are we having fun yet?

It's a good thing I didn't go home for my day off, because right now, I'd be sorely tempted to simply not go back out.  Between a week of criminally cheap toilet paper and housekeeping banging on my door in the early AM hours trying to get a jump on their work day, I now remember why I'm always so reluctant to leave my warm office chair.  It's sucky out here.

And now that my pity party is over, I have a few tasty tidbits for you guys.

A short interview from my old hometown in Charlotte, South Carolina.

The last of the four guest blogs over at LitFestMagazine.  I'm not sure if the new posting is up yet.  My room is deep inside the hotel with a spectacular view of someone else's room, and I'm not getting a good enough signal to load the page.  LitFestMagazine.

A link to HarperCanada's March Madness event.  They do this every year, and the one time I promoted it, you guys pushed me all the way to the last event where we were beat out in the last hour.  Seriously, it was the last hour.  But here's the link if you are so inclined to take part again.  The book that is in contention is DEAD WITCH WALKING, and it's in the James Rollins category.  (You have to scroll down the clipboard to find it.)  One lucky Canadian voter will get a copy of all 64 books in the contest.  (Anyone can vote, but only a Canadian person can win the books.)  March Madness

Joseph Beth in Lexington pictures are up!

I've got a travel day today as I move to Des Moines, but I've got the pictures up of yesterday's signing.  They had me on a stage, with a fountain between us, and it made me feel like a rock star.  -laugh-  Trust me, I was much happier to get off that stage and down to the signing table.  The JoBeth store in Lexington is amazing.  A total shopping experience that made me feel like I was out on the coast in the middle of KY.  And the readers were fabulous, as usual!

On to Lexington!

I'm on the road this morning, heading to Lexington for an afternoon signing, and believe me, I need the night off after yesterdays absolutely fabulous signing/live streaming event out at Jo Beth, Cincinnati.  Wow, can I just say that I hope we can do this again?  I had the best time hearing from some of my more distant viewers via the live chat.  Not to mention simply being in Cincinnati and feeling right at home with all those smiling faces.

I have pictures of the event up at the website already, and I hope to have a link to the archived filming of the event as soon as they put that together.

For now, I have part two of the interview I did with Assignment X, our partners in this live streaming event.  Part Two

What is this white stuff on the ground?

Can it be snow?  It seems to be following me as I shift from Dayton today down the road to CINCINNATI!

I will be in my favorite adoptive city tonight at Joseph Beth on Madison Road.  We are also going to live-stream the event for those of you who can't make it, and I think take a few questions from the virtual audience.  Hope to see some of you there, either braving the last that winter is throwing at us, or from the cozy chair of your living room via the live feed.  http://www.vivolive.com/harpercollins/kimharrison The show starts at 7:00 pm, EST, and there is a button at the site to order a signed copy which I will do that very night.  Not sure what time 7:00 pm EST is where you are?  I've got a link for that, too.  TimeZoneConverter

Last night I was at one of my favorite stores, Books and Co on the Green.  It was a HUGE crowd, and we had tons of fun.  Pictures and YouTubes are up at the website!  Books And Co.

I also have part one of a two-part interview that just popped up over at AssignmentX where I chat a bit about Pale Demon.  (No spoilers)

Borders in Ann Arbor was a blast

Guy and I had a great time in Ann Arbor signing in Borders last night.  We left lots of signed stock, so if you wanted to be there and missed out, you can still get a book.  The people there were wonderful, and even made me some icy concoction with Chi Tea and milk that was not on the cafe menu.  Yum.  Maybe I shouldn't have made that face when I accidentally drank the iced coffee.  –laugh–  Pictures and YouTubes are up at the website. It was a great crowd, and they took tons of pictures!  I love going through them after the event, since I miss out on all the fun you guys are having in line.  The questions in the Q&A were all over the place from my writing style to what's coming next with the graphic novel and world book, so that was fun.

Tonight I'm in Dayton signing at Books and Co on the Green.  I've been to this store before, and they have a fabulous set up with a fireplace.  (Yay!  I love my fireplaces!)  Hope to see you there!

And we've kicked it off!

Last night's event at Schuler Books and Music was fabulous!  It took me a few hours to remember how to do everything, but I got the pictures up at the website for your visual perusal!  And some YouTubes, too.  I had a great time, and everyone was wonderful as Guy and I fumbled around remembering what we were supposed to be doing.  -grin-

Pictures!

Tonight is Ann Arbor at Borders.  Hope to see some of you there!

P.S. I have the link for the Lansing article.  Urban Fantasy Author to Visit Lansing

Pale Demon Release Day

FINALLY!!  Pale Demon is out today!  And I'm singing it from the rooftops!  I'll be fighting the 6-10 inches of snow to get to Lansing tonight, but hopefully the road crews have gotten most of it off the road and I'll see you at Schuler Books and Music tonight.

I'm going to be busy this morning printing out the world book for my editor, doing my hair, and starting to make piles to pack, but I have a couple of guest blogs for you to pursue.  The first is from Border's Babble Blog.  I've long said Pale Demon is my favorite.  Here's why!  Pale Demon.  It's my favorite!

I also have a second post with Borders, Six Questions for Kim Harrison.  Ever wonder at the Clint Eastwood titles?  It's in there.

The Lansing paper did a piece on me.  I'm still trying to find it online.

And I have a guest post at Bookpage where I touch on the Kim/Dawn author incognito aspect.  The Double Life of Kim Harrison. Check back!

Can't make an event? We are streaming live!

The Joseph Beth Cincy store has a unique chance for those of you who can't make it to a signing to get a little closer.  We will be streaming live the Q&A portion, and I believe there will be a button for you to order a book that I can personalize right then and there for you.  Here is the link to the site if you want to check it out ahead of time.  Book mark it!  I'll see you there on the 25th! http://www.vivolive.com/harpercollins/kimharrison The event starts at 7:00 pm, EST.  If you need to know what time it will be for you, here's a website that will figure it out for you.  ;-) (You can use Ohio Columbus for the first location if you're not familiar with US cities)

I also have a new guest post over at LitFestMagazine.  Ever wonder what I do to survive living like a rock star for two weeks??  Here's your chance to find out.  ;-)  What Time Zone Am I In?

Calm before the storm

It's my last weekend before I head out, and though I'll be home for the first couple of days hitting Lansing and Ann Arbor, I still have tons to cram into the few days remaining.  I just realized I don't have a full length mirror, which means I've not tried on anything to make sure it fits.  I've got to wash my hair.  -grin-  And get it looking good.  Got a nail appointment on Monday, the dogs go in for their yearly checkup today.  (Bad timing, but when they called, they made me feel like a bad dog mommy, so we're going in NOW!)  And then there's the packing, not just for 12 events, but for the office equipment to keep me in touch and updating the website as I go.   It's really hard to get two weeks into one bag, but I've done it before.  ;-)

Leaving Michigan is kind of tough right now.  Spring is in its first cold infancy, but the snow is almost gone, and I'm walking the dogs with my head down, parting the grass for the first sign of the crocus that I put in the ground this fall.  They should be up in SC, the yellow ones almost done, but here . . . nothing yet.  The birds know it's coming.  And the joggers.  -laugh-

The picture above is of one of my orchids.  I can't remember if this is one that Mud gave me, or one that I had, but the cat pulled it out of the pot about a year ago, and it's still not rooted very well.  And yet, it has a bud coming.  I'm so excited.  I've never had a lady slipper orchid re-bloom for me.  I think it likes the light here, too.

Got a little distracted . . .

I'm late in posting this morning because I got a little distracted.  I wanted to showcase the Event's page at the website with the updated stores and time, but when I went to update it, I got lost in the rapture of Dreamweaver and ended up prepping the first few pages for the upcoming tour.  I now have half the pages ready to drop in all the pictures and YouTubes that you can take during the event.  (rolls eyes)  I completely forgot I hadn't done my morning work yet.

So here it is, the updated tour schedule.  It's a big one this year, and I'm really looking forward to getting out and seeing some of you again.  ;-)  Please check back at the website the day of the event to make sure there haven't been any changes.  Event's Page
