Six On Saturday – Whispers Of Spring 🌸 17-8-24
More warm sunny days gladden your heart and encourage more flowers to open in the garden. As the gentle amble to spring lights up my garden, flower favourites present themselves for another year.
This one should be called the Pansy Edition because it is filled with these little seasonal delights! Thriving in the cool damp days. 
I have been busy planting new mail order roses. Plus I added two new Pear trees to the garden a Lemon Bergamot and a Josephine! 
A pretty bloom from a Regal Ruffles Pansy in my back deck baskets lights up my day as I walk past them.
My favourite pink daisy, violas white Marguerite daisies and a secret stash of bantam eggs I found in a bush. 
The Almond Blossom has just started and infuses everything with magical fairy dust!
Sumptuous Pansies in my hanging baskets at the moment. 
This one looks like an ethereal butterfly!
My deck baskets fill me with happiness. A pretty viola mix.That’s all from me

Six On Saturday – The Colour Is Returning 🌸
In my garden the colour is more reliant on the advent of autumn, winter, and spring rains. It’s now mid winter here. Now as we wend our way towards spring each day a few more flowers start their spring garden procession.
It is quite cold and wet here. I have been busily planting stuck cuttings in my new long watertank garden bed in a vain hope to beat the weeds. But it is a delight to have such a massive virgin garden bed to fill! I have also planted direct down seed packets there of sweetpeas, alyssum, cornflowers, Shirley poppies, cosmos and different hollyhocks from the seed stashes I found in my seed box.
The back deck baskets are starting to fill out with loveliness, otherwise known as violas!. 
With the exception of the iris (wishful thinking) all these plants are flowering now. I have been taking much delight in the violas in my various hanging baskets and pots. The white Marguerite daisies have started as have the mauve Felicia echinata. Also here is a lonely perennial wallflower and the lovely yellow Euryops virginias daisies. 
Heaven on Earth rose is having a defiant winter bloom. It missed out on flowering in autumn because it was too dry, so it is making hay while the rain rains!
A purple corner. The lovely Salvia mexicanus has been flowering for months now. Mental note, must plant lots more around the garden. Also the start of the Calendula megga show and self-sown parsley, if I get hungry!
A view of the Euryops virginias blooming in winter like little beacons of hope. 
Pansies, viloas, Marguerites, and cute Sweet Alyssum that is attracting the bees to the baskets.
