Being Smart Isn't for Competitions (Or Just a Tool)

Hey, everyone. Can you believe it's Friday? I cannot wait to relax as much as I can. Honestly, I've been a wreck. I'm trying my best to write stories down.

Speaking of stories-- just a little update --I've been working on both my book and my Halloween short story. I'm trying to go back and for to, not only keep the brain flow for more ideas, but also to work hard to reach my goal.

Anyway, I wanted to share you all about my past experiences, one that is more relevant to me and it's still is today. I don't where to begin.

Actually, maybe I can. But let me ask you a question. How many of you have been inadvertently get into a competition with someone?

I'm sure many have been. Me, get into it when I was young and they weren't fun. In fact, I had been forced to do competitions back when I was a little kid. I mean, parents thought it would be fun. But to me, it wasn't. And it wasn't just talent competitions, but also testing competitions in Sunday school. And, if you get the highest rank in your grade, you can get an award. And the best part (wait for it). If you get the lowest and didn't get the any awards, people feel ashamed of you!

Hey, do you expect me to automatically be smart at a young age? Heck, I didn't get any good teachers back then. They didn't teach me about the Bible, nor did they make the lessons into simplest terms. The saddest part was that the teacher gave up on me, and all I had to do was sit there and do nothing.

That was the sad truth about my life, and its painful to share it with all of you. And it's hard to believe, coming from an author who had a GPA of 4.0, but that's because I progressed and had some help along the way. But I still didn't do well on Sunday school. ^^;

And even though I'm smart, it can be both a blessing and a curse. From high school, I had been used to help friends and classmates to get answers for their work. I get tired when people claimed that they're my friends.

The point that I'm making is that having do competitions like that kind of sucks you up dry, and the church that I go to would want recognition when it comes to competitions. That's why I never appreciate competitions, nor do I participate in them. And if you try to give me an award, I'll probably cringe because I hate being on the spotlight. I mean, I don't mind the recognition and getting the award, but I don't want to make it a big deal.

So what do I use it for, instead? For the good of humanity that's what.

So now you know the interesting fact about me. Please make sure to be up-to-date with my blogs for any information about my books. Oh, and today's your last chance to get book on an affordable price (Well, $4.99 is still a good price for an ebook). Sales end tomorrow! A Spark of Hope

Hello, everyone! I bring to you some merriment with this new blog post (I'm in nerd mode). For starters, how is everyone today? Anyone enjoyed Thanksgiving? If you have some cool stories to share, comment below!

I never thought I had a great Thanksgiving week, because it's always quiet and not so big. But you know, having a quiet Thanksgiving meal with your family is not so bad. At least there was no drama (and there will never be, now that I'm no longer with my relatives. Haha)! But I understand that nobody celebrates Thanksgiving because of different reasons, which I cannot list them all.

I do hope that you have shop for the bargains you love. And as you may know, I had a free ebook sale in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And if people have missed a chance to get a free copy of one of my books, no need to worry. I'm planning to do another on next month so that you guys can have a chance to get a copy for free.

One last thing before I go: I do have wonderful news. There was a contest that was held in Whizolosophy, if anyone knows about it. If not, I will tell you. Whizolosophy is a website, where people can post from essays to poems and help both improve and educate ourselves.

So what happened was that I entered a contest, hoping that it'll help me boost my confidence. Of course, I found out that I did not win it. However, the website contacted me and said that my poem called Mending Love was selected for this week by Editor's Choice. It's not big, but I was glad that I'm being recognized for the first time.

I know that many writers like myself have been struggling to submit theirs works and get rejected, but one day, their time will come if they working hard and get themselves out there. That is the point of publishing, whether it's by submitting through magazine to blogs, it will work.

So guys, feel free to check out my poem through the website, or I can post my poem here for you all to read. In the meantime, take care and have a wonderful week. https://whizolosophy.com/category/lov...

Mending Love

You can be hot headed at times
But I know that something is pushing your buttons
The stove that is under you
It’s making you all mad

You start to lose control of yourself
You don’t think twice
For someone who is trying to help you
You’ve burned me
But that’s because of your steam

You have been used and abused so much
You have a crack on the rim of your spout
But I try to help you cool down
And fix that broken spout of yours

I heal that crack
And suddenly
You’re no longer blowing of steam
You don’t make that raging sound no more

I can accept your mistakes
I can accept your behavior
Even though you’re blowing some heat
I know for sure
I would always be able to heal you
