Inspiration

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday. Well, the day will end in 6 hours (and counting). I've been trying to keep myself occupied. Today, I watched an interesting movie that was made almost two years ago. I promised a friend of mine that I would watch it for her and let her know how it goes. It's called Bajiroa Mastani. The movie takes place int the 18th century. It's about a young Peshwa (equal role to a modern -day prime minister), who fell in love with a king's daughter/warrior from another land. Unfortunately, the Peshwa is Hindu and the girl is Muslim, so there was conflict when these to fell in love. Not only that, the Peshwa is married to another girl.

Now I'm not a big fan of romantic drama movies, but I love how there's a message behind it. The movie itself is garished in regal colors which makes the film more beautiful, You feel hypnotized by the way it looks, and the movie is well edited and trimmed to perfection. So if you're a desi fan or someone who loves historical fiction, romance, and action, check it out.

So you all are wondering, "Why are you talking about a Hindi movie in this blog?" Because this movie got me inspired with creativity. I'm sure writers like me have been inspired by reading books, research, or a movie. That's how I came up with my novel (check out The White Sirens on Amazon, please).

So it's ok to get inspiration from other great works, as long as you put as much effort into your own work. In other words, no stealing people's work.

I hope everyone will have a good weekend. ;) And be sure to check out my novel, The White Sirens. Available on Amazon in ebook version. https://www.amazon.com/White-Sirens-S...

Pleasant yet Achy

You know how you look out the window and see that it's wonderful outside that you decided that you want to go for a walk? Well, that's what happened to me today and it wasn't pretty.

I'm telling you, I had a long walk from library to home and vice versa. I didn't think that today to be so humid, but I should've checked on the weather and wear comfortable shoes. On the bright side, I had a good work out and it was worth it.

What's also worth it is how I managed to get the next book of The Mortal Instruments series. It's getting good, as I speak! If anyone had read the book, please don't spoil it for me. I want to find out for myself from beginning to end. Plus, I respect people's wishes when they don't know what happens to the book, while they are reading it.

Hope you all had a lovely week so far. It's really lovely outside, so you guys should go out and have fun. And be sure to check out my novel, The White Sirens. The excerpt of my book is available on Goodreads, if you want to check it out. And if you decide to purchase my book, I'll give the link. My novel is available on Amazon in ebook version. https://www.amazon.com/White-Sirens-S...

Mystery 101

Hey, guys! It's finally the weekend, and I have a lot in store for you guys. Today, I want to share something very important. I guess you can say that it's a random fact that I want share you guys.

So while I was try to look though my material book, where all my writing exercises and future story ideas are there, I've noticed how much ideas I've written. Not only did I have fantasy story ideas are in there, but there's also mystery.

Of course, I have published my first novel that is a mystery one, but you know, I think I understand why.

Growing up, I would always watch a lot of action and mystery movies. Most of them were Indian films, but others were American films/shows. And most of the time, they have a lot of plot twists, which I try to weave it into my novel (you can thank O Henry, the creator of plot twists).

So I'm amazed when I realized that I have written my first mystery novel, which I thought I would never do. But, you know, it did. So I might be able to do both Mystery and Fantasy novels in the near future. Who knows? I have ideas that are in store for you guys.

And let me give you guys a quick tip, if you ever want to write a mystery novel/series. I suggest to put some feeling into that book. More importantly have a plot twist to the story. It will most likely to grab people's attention. If you don't believe me, check out Viola Carr's books, The Diabolical Miss Hyde, The Devious Dr. Jekyll, and The Dastardly Miss Lizzie. I have not read the third book yet, but I will eventually. So please, check it out.

And make sure to check out my mystery novel, The White Sirens. Available on Amazon in ebook version. Don't forget to rate and review my book, if you get the chance. Also, make sure to tell others, if they're interested!
