Plagurism?

I've been getting unsettling letters from my fans. According to them, a certain book has passages copied almost word for word from my book "Victorious Star."

This Book: Ravenous Virtue
-- It's self-published by Smashwords -- a vanity press.

Has anyone read this book? Should I be concerned?

A Note on Internal Monologues

Art by Kaori Yuki

A Note on

Internal Monologues

“I was just wondering what you think about interior monologues, long passages of reflection?” -- Curious Kitty

Whether
you are considering adding a lengthy monologue to a story, or intend
the monologue to be the story itself; where the focus of the entire
story is on one character’s thoughts and feelings with very little
action,

How Much Smut for Your story?

Note: This article was specifically written for smut scenes, but
truthfully, it can be be for any type of scene: horror scenes, angst scenes,
kissing scenes, fight scenes... Just replace the word Smut with the

Should go into Your story?

Before you can even approach this question, first you'll need to decide:

WHO is your target audience?

Dealing with Creative DOUBT

...I'm at the point where nothing seems right. Everything I write
down is cliche, badly written, and has bad pacing. Yet when I was
younger I would turn out stories one right after the other like a
non-stop machine. But now...thanks to all those instructors and classes,
the creative edge is now limping along like a dog with only

Julian, valet and occasional bodyguard to a literal fairy tale prince, wants nothing more than to keep her job. However, that entails keeping anyone from finding out that she's female. Prince Alberic, tall, blond, gorgeous, and more than a little sadistic, is not only one of the very few people aware of Julian's secret he fully intends to take advantage of it by making her his secret mistress -- whether Julian wants to be one or not.

Ordered by his father the King, Prince Alberic and his faithful valet, Julian, take off for Lyoness and a Unicorn hunt to win a princess bride. SMUT Does Not = POPULARITY

Ten-Second Tip:

SMUT Does Not = POPULARITY.

Whether you're posting on an Erotic story site, a fan-fiction site, or writing a hot short for a paperback anthology...

No matter what you've been told about making your stories popular, Sex isn't everything. People will like --and Favorite-- a damned good story Without sex faster than they will some slap-dash PWP (Porn without Plot). Believe

Choosing a Story's Title

10 Second Tip:
Choosing a Story's Title

----- Original Message -----
Do you have a tutorial on how to decide the Title for your story?
-- Nervous Beginner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I can't decide on a title, I fall back on how the professionals do it.
One word is considered ideal for a title.
No more than Three words, preferably Two.
You can have Four if the word is 'And,' 'The,' 'A,' or
Plot Device: Foreshadowing...!
Foreshadowing is when the opening scene of a story
acts as a kind of nutshell prophecy for the whole story.
In a Horror, this is when the originating Bad Thing happens.
In a Mystery or Crime story, it's when the first victim is slain, and/or object (McGuffin) goes missing.
In a Romance this is where the main character meets their soon-to-be lover for a fleeting but memorable moment.
