Hello all my peeps.
I'm going to keep this update a little short. The writing is all continuing as planned. I'm a little behind on the new words for Amethyst but the editing and formatting is going well. I'm hoping to have an announcement next week. Something about a release and a big sale...
In other news... this week I finally painted my living room. We've been at the new farm for about five years now and from day one I said I wanted to update the worn out pale yellow of the room to something a little bit more cozy. We picked out the color last year and hubby bought the paint for me all the way back in January for my birthday. But life just never slowed down enough to make it happen. I finally decided, I wanted it done, no matter what, before Thanksgiving dinner.
For those that remember, last year was my first attempt to host the big day for the family. Normally I'm not allowed to linger in the kitchen longer than it takes to grill cheese or fry an egg. Honestly, I'm have no talent and little interest in cooking. Thank goodness hubby has both or I'd surely starve. So last year, I offered to host so that my Mom who was just out of the hospital could relax and not even lift a finger. Big words from the kitchen-banished me.
Whoops, just noticed this chatter isn't short at all! My bad. Let me sum it up. In the end I ordered food and served it up. Didn't even try to take credit. But everyone was happy and no one got food poisoning. So here we are again, hosting 2024 T-day. This time Mom informed me that the food will be home made. I'd better up my game.
Wish me luck. It all starts with a beautiful summer sky blue room.

About the series... and how it all began, where it all went wrong.
Long before the three Lynx Clan brothers were brought to America, they were just children playing as only the young can. Their Clan was large and prosperous including dozens of families. When they were discovered by a man consumed by greed, their peaceful magical lives became nothing more than powers to be controlled. When they were threatened their clan decided to scatter, sending the many families in different directions.
Their family stayed in wolf form and lived like animals bound to the forest. The plan had been to hide long enough to let the youngest children grow stronger. Their choice allowed them to survive a while longer than the other families. But in the end it did not save them for long.
Excerpt from LC1: Forgiven
Saxxon pulled Kelly’s rear tight against his front. Even tucked spoon-like in the bed, he wanted her as close as possible. She was a warm bundle that brought his blood to the boiling point just with her sleepy snuggling. He stroked his fingertips over the curve of her hip. What lush curves. His fingers trailed back up to her ribs, inching toward one perfect breast.
He should try to catch some sleep too, but something was nagging at the back of his mind. Some danger that they were overlooking was creeping closer. The hair raised on his neck as he sensed someone watching. No, not watching with eyesight, but slipping through his mind, reading him.
Only one person ever did that. Caspian had found him. He’d have to be close to reach him in this kind of contact. Invading his mind, trespassing without an invitation.
Kelly’s hand locked over his fingers. “What’s wrong?” Her voice held a sleepy note.
What wasn’t wrong? All this paradise, that he’d only barely tasted, was about to be taken away. “Cas. I can feel him reaching for me. He has to be close.”
“How close?” She rolled over, cupping his face in one palm.
“Very. Probably inside the building.” He dipped his face close and rested his forehead against hers.
“So, what’s changed? You thought he was here earlier too, but now I can feel how much it worries you.”
She was so perceptive. “He’s trying to connect to me. He didn’t try to touch my mind before. Now he’s serious, and his focus is on me.”
“I don’t know what that means. Connect how, exactly?”
“Like we did on the bike. Remember how we could talk to each other?” Only Kelly’s touch had been welcomed. This was more like an invasion.
“Yeah. So, you can do that with Cas too. Tell him to leave us alone and send the kids home.”
“I’ve been blocking him out. I wasn’t sure if I should encourage his mental touch. It might make it easier for him to find us.”
“Angel said this place is safe. I think we can trust her.”
He still wasn’t sure. Maybe it was fear that kept him from wanting to speak with Caspian. For decades, his brother had helped Dr. Jon to torture him and Dain. He’d held so much control over them. Forced them to do so much wrong and given them no choice. Yes, it was fear and hatred that made him fight the connection. He would sever their brotherly bond if he could. He would kill him if the chance came.
“Saxxon? Can you tell me more about how this works?”
“I’ve always felt a connection to Cas and Dain. I remember feeling the same thing for our sisters too.” The sisters that Cas had let die. “When it’s weak, the connection feels like a subtle touch.” He brushed her fingers over her shoulder, barely touching. “When one of us wanted to strengthen it, we could reach up and catch that mental touch. By focusing on it, we could share thoughts and emotions.”
“If you opened yourself and focused on Cas’s touch, would you be able to share your thoughts with him?”
“And he with me.” Saxxon couldn’t stop the shiver that must have betrayed the depth of his fear to Kelly.
“Do you think you’d be able to find out anything that could help the kids?” she asked as her gaze locked on his with a hopeful look.
He hated to feel weak in front of her, but she deserved the truth. “I don’t know. Cas is stronger than I am.”
A spoiler... sort of.
It's not really a spoiler if you've read more than a couple of my books. I write romance not so much for the love story (although I do love that) but for the happy-ever-after. I want my people to get the HEA. I want them to find love and overcome the heartache and beat the bad guys.
SPOILER: What does that mean for my three Lynx Clan boys? It means that all three deserve their HEA endings. In Forgiven, Saxxon is convinced that his brother Caspian had betrayed them, that he'd accepted their Nazi master in order to save his own life. Caspian never once denies it. The truth begins to be exposed in Forgotten. But how could Saxxon and Dain ever trust their brother again after all they'd been through?
While telling their story, I often wondered how Cas would convince his little brothers about all he'd done for them over the decades. What could he say or do to prove his love and loyalty to them? How could he even begin to build a future where they could all be together, like I knew he wanted. Luckily, I didn't really have to think up any of that witty dialog or plan any elaborate stage, setting them up to need each other. Nope, once I knew Cas well enough, I knew I could leave it to him. He wasn't the kind to beg for forgiveness, or to offer any reasons for his choices. He doubted himself enough to know that words didn't matter. All he could do was keep doing whatever it took to protect them and keep his clan alive at any cost.

Hello all my peeps. Feeling a bit more fall the last few days, but I suppose that's fair since summer has left us already. Winter prep at the farm continues. We made some progress on the new pens but took Sunday off to head out to the local farm swap meet. Sold 10 turkey poults. Letting them go was part of the "tighten our belts" for winter plan. Turkey babies eat a lot and letting those ten go to new homes will allow me to spoil the others a bit more.
Here in the US, November 11 is Veteran's Day. A day to focus on the men and women in the military and how much they do to support our freedoms. As a nod to all our veterans and their families... This week it's all about my soldier boys.
The Lynx Clan features three brothers who are forced to fight for the bad guy. If and when they finally get free I wonder if they will decide to put their skills to work for the good guys? I can really see them taking that route.
This time next year I hope I'll be able to share about a different military group. Eagle Clan 4: guardian features the formation of a paramilitary group working to protect the world from paranormal threats.
Thank you to all the vets out there. Keep up being the heroes in the stories that never get told.

Excerpt from LC1: Forgiven
He finally looked at her, met her gaze. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t.” The reassurance was out before her brain caught it as the lie the words might yet prove to be.
Still, in this one moment, Saxxon was the one to offer rational clarity. “You can’t know that. I didn’t mean to do what just happened. I can’t be sure what will happen when...”
His cut off words sent a shiver of fear down her back. “When what?” What on earth could be worse than all they already had to face? When they came for him? When they both turned into monkeys? When she raped him in a moment of sexual desperation? WHAT?
“When the craving comes.”
“The craving?” she prompted him. Cravings sounded bad, really bad. The way he said it implied something terrible and out of control.
“For the Silvertide. I’ve never gone so long without it before.”
Well, at least it wasn’t cravings for blood or sex. “It’s addictive?” Actually, cravings for sex didn’t sound so awful. She definitely needed to get some sleep before any of her silly thoughts slipped past her lips. This wasn’t a good time to be thinking about sex. Bigger, scarier things took precedence.
“Yes.” He walked to the bed and got out a vial and syringe from the pocket of the jacket. “I want you to use this if you need to.”
“No.” She recognized that huge needle and could guess what was in the vial.
“Do you know how to fill the syringe?”
“Yes, but I won’t use it.” Despite her answer, he set the vial and needle on the bedside table.
“Use it to stay safe. You’ve seen how quickly it works. It’s the only dose I have.”
“I won’t use it. I felt what it did to Dain.” She couldn’t do that to Saxxon.
“Please.” He ran his fingers through his short blond hair in agitation.
“Saxxon...”
He advanced on her. His lean hands caught her shoulders in a gentle grip. “Please say you will.” His expression hardened, but his dark eyes pleaded with her to give in.
“No.” Still she refused while aching to comfort him.
His fingers caressed her cheek. “I am only asking this, so you’ll have some defense if you need to save yourself. It won’t kill me. It paralyzes the body, making it impossible to fight.”
“Saxxon...” She wouldn’t use it, no matter what happened. But she could stretch the truth this once to give him peace of mind. “Thank you for giving me an alternative to stop you if I have to.” Not exactly a lie, anyway.
Question from a reader...
At a recent books signing, Julie asked what I liked best about this series?
I was thinking a little about it and there would be a whole long list of all the little things I love about the Lynx Clan. But the Best of the Best... might be how Caspian and his mate are so very perfect for each other. While I was in the discovery stage of writing this story, I honestly wasn't sure how they could possibly make it work. But those two are quite simply to stubborn to end with anything less than a happy ever after. A close second is how the ladies keep it all together and help their boys heal and stand strong... and have hope.

November has rolled in and looks a lot like September. I expect it won't last but for now it gives me a chance to do a bit more winter prep work around the farm. At least we had beautiful fall scenery with colorful leaves and bright blue skies during all the extra work.
In writing news, I've begun working on the third Amethyst book which I'm considering delaying the release for books 2 and 3 until the new year. So for now, just know that the progress is coming along nicely. I just don't want to rush it.

Kelly looked down at Saxxon. He tensed under her gaze but didn’t flee as she’d expected. Instead, he opened his dark eyes and met her questioning look with one of his own.
“Who did you call?” The suspicion was back in his voice.
“I called someone to help us.” She sat down on the bed beside him as he struggled to sit up. This close, she saw the slight tremor in his hands. She ached to comfort him and gave into the urge. Her fingers brushed over his, and then settled on his forearm.
“Who?” he asked with less challenge and more curiosity.
His arm was warm and strong under her hand. Even mostly relaxed as he was now, the muscles tightened slightly, making her wonder what he would feel like when he was healthy and in action. “Some friends of mine who have special talents.”
“Talents like yours?”
Her gaze flew to his face. How did he know she was psychic? How would he react? Would he reject her help because of her differences? “How did you know I have any talents of my own?”
“I felt you touch me.” His fingers brushed his temple. “Here.” He seemed to accept the ability as normal. The fact that he’d felt her might even mean he had some psychic abilities of his own. “Are these people like you?” His lips pulled into a frown.
“I can tell you don’t like the idea, but only you know how dangerous the ones after you are. Do you think we can get away from them on our own?”
His frown fell away, leaving a desolate emptiness. “No.”
She slid her hand down his arm and folded her fingers over his. “But you don’t want to trust anyone.” Trust was such a delicate thing. That’s why his next words were so astonishing.
“I think…I trust you.”

Hello all my peeps.
It's the most wonderful time of the year... HALLOWEEN! Of course I love all the holidays. Christmas is my favorite, Halloween second and Valentines Day comes in third. But this week it's all about the most paranormal of all celebrations.
The release news this week... I have a hardcover book releasing on 10/31/24. Yep, on Halloween. No pre-order will be available. And I'm not sending out a special notice. (wink) This one was a secret. And as such will mostly only be available as signed and numbered special editions. It's The Chronicles of the Lynx Clan! All three novels in one hardcover limited edition. If you don't care about it being signed, you can buy it right away. If you prefer signed, hold out a little bit until I get them in hand and then I will offer them direct.
In farm news... I set up an indoor pond for a couple pretty baby koi and a bunch of pond plants that I'd hoped to winter over. And we're building up a few extra pens in the barn. I have a bad feeling about winter and want to be prepared to shelter everyone in the big barn if needed.

Hello everyone.
After a busy weekend with the craft fair on Saturday and an animal swap on Sunday, now I'm ready to take a week off and spend it at the day job. I know, right? Not much of a break. But surprisingly it does help. My Granny's favorite saying was "A change is as good as a rest." Words I live by. To start off my mini-vacation, this week's news will be fairly short.
Don't forget, the third Eagle Clan book releases this week on the 16th. Next I will start working on the print versions of the series. And the first three books will be available in Kindle Unlimited on Sept 13th.
Speaking of KU... The division Eight books are all in Kindle Unlimited now. All three are also now available in paperback and hardcover.

Hello everyone.
I can't believe it's already August. Time is just flying by too quickly. Feels just like yesterday that I decided to release my own books using Amazon KDP and now I have over fifty works available.
While looking at all those pretty shiny books, I noticed that some of the series had different renew dates in Kindle Unlimited. Might not seem like a big deal and really it isn't, but a couple times when I was planning a promotion I had to change ponies mid-stream because one of the sequels was not going to be able to participate. This happened because I usually offer new releases in KU from the day they release. Well, I'm about to fix up those dates. But to do so, a few of my books will drop out of KU for short periods of time while each series is realigned to one renew date. Hope that makes sense and hope it doesn't cause too much bother. Within three months all the books should be properly reset.
In farm news this week, I enjoyed a fun discovery of new baby koi in my big pond. At only 2-3 inches long, dozens of the cute little buggers have started coming up to eat with the big fish.
Last week I mentioned I added a little update to the third Division Eight story: Quinn Chasing a Butterfly. This week I'm making the book free to download so that anyone who bought it already can get the updated version now. And if you haven't bought it yet, now's the perfect time to get your copy. For those how prefer to hold real books, QUINN is now in paperback and hard cover.

Hello everyone.
Today's note will be a little short. Mostly because life got a little wild and I am only sitting down to write this an hour before I send it out. :) I was off to dog shows over the weekend and had a ton of fun with the pups. and after ring time I played with my imaginary friends, writing up a new epilogue for Quinn's story. Watch for a freebie next week so you can grab a new copy of it.
I think it's important to remember to claim a little downtime every now and then. Yes, this is coming from me, the hyperactive person who is always juggling ten different projects all at once. Over the weekend I took a little time to read some. Yep, I found a couple wonderful books during Tuesday's Free Romance promo. It was refreshing to relax. Now, I'm ready to jump back in to the wild ride that is my day to day life.
This week's goals include, building a new pen for the farm, editing Journey, visiting a friend from New York, judging a dog show in Ohio, and trying to remember to sleep a little bit.
