Good thing about Failure

"If you are succeeding in everything you do, then you're probably not
pushing yourself hard enough. And that means you're not taking enough
risks." John Maxwell

Finish With the Closet

Got the basket at Home Depot, they match the colors in my bedspread.

Fun thing about this is a did this so we'd have more room, but Mike is hardly using any space at all. Is that telling me something?

Thank you, Caleb Hanie

The young third string quarterback made it a game worth watching.

Chicago can be proud and Jay Cutler should worry.

See when he was given a chance to shine - he did his best and made a difference for his team.

Way to go, Caleb

Back Home

After a week away at my father's funeral, I am back home and looking around at a house that is still not organized.

Where are those sweet elves when you need them?

Hope everyone is doing okay and having a wonderful holiday season.

Inspiration from Football

[image error]
For those of you who don't know I love football. I watch it both Saturday and Sunday during the season. And I have been know to sit in front of my television every night of the week if I can find a game.

But I can't really say when the love affair started. Was it when I was two -- those black and white figures dancing across the screen?

Or sitting every Sunday on the couch with my dad? What girl didn't want to watch those tone body race down the field? Or hear the crunch of the hit? Oh...the tears of victory or the pain of defeat...what would my childhood been like without those moments -- shared by the members of my favorite team.

I don't know. But while search for sites that offered insight into the game I stumbled onto this blog "Art of Manliness."

After reading the first paragraph I felt a kinship with the writer. Though not a man, I shared his passion and understand his reasons for loving the awesome sport of football.

Give it a gander.

College Football - Why?

Why do I watch it? Why do I care who wins the BCS title?

Yes, I have my favorite teams.

And yes, I want the world to love them, but the BCS never plays fair. On any given week just look at the top ten ranked teams and you'll find someone who doesn't belong there.

Yet ever season, I hope the teams that are at the top of the list will deserve their ranking and every year I'm upset by how it works.

But can the best universities in the country come up with a better way? Like a play-off?

No.

Well, I guess being so smart doesn't pay after all.

One Word Riddle

I found this interesting.

What is a 9-letter word where you can remove one letter at a time and still be left with a word?

Tried - dragonfly -- didn't work.

overboard --- didn't work.

Here is the answer.

Startling

L = starting
T = staring
A = string
R = sting
T = sing
G = sin
S = in
N = I

alway ends with me or I,and even has a little sin thrown in for fun.

Found this at

Have a great day,
