Spells of Old on eBookdaily
I was rather bemused to find out that Spells of Old was promoted on ebookdaily.com earlier today. They asked me to link it on my site, and I don’t see any reason why not, so… here it is. Incidentally, I did not ask for this. Which is why it amused me so much.

Plans Going Forward
One of my big things that I promised myself when I decided to become an author was to be honest with my readers and fans. I may not tell all of you everything, but if I’m not going to answer a question, it’s either because I somehow missed it, or I will tell you that I’m not telling. That said, here are my plans for the future.
The last few days I’ve been working on a story about the original Sistina Constella. I’ve been working at my laptop in another room, and it has increased how much I’ve...

April 16th Update
Progress on books has been slow since my wife was let go from her job. I’ve been experimenting with different ways to keep focus, and it’s difficult. In the end, I’m planning to set up my new writing laptop in the other room and work from there. That being said, I have about 4k words on Halls of Power (5k if you include the ‘story so far’ section), and about 1,500 on one of my side stories about Sistina Constella. The first few thousand words are always the hardest for me, but I hope to be do...

What I Listen To
So, to keep my mind thoroughly off the release (those butterflies won’t settle down), I thought I’d talk about something I don’t mention much. When writing, the biggest and most important thing for me is what I’m listening to. Some people can’t write if they aren’t in a room that’s dead silent. I’m the opposite. Give me silence, and I won’t get anything done, nine times out of ten. I don’t recall what I was listening to when writing Ancient Ruins, but I do for Spells of Old.
Spells of Old Released!
This post is being written in advance, but by this point Spells of Old will have launched worldwide. It’s available both on Kindle or Paperback, with links below.

Audiobook & Side Project
While I consider my blog post yesterday cute, it wasn’t terribly informative to others, so I thought I’d give a more substantial update today.
This morning I finished listening to the audiobook recording of Ancient Ruins. As always in a work of that length, there were some errors. I listed them and sent them off to the producer, and hopefully they’ll be fixed in short order. I will state that there were more errors in my writing than they made in the recording, so there’s that. Definitely goi...

A Dose of Humility
It’s amazing how sentences seem perfectly fine until you hear them out loud. Then, you realize that a couple of sentences that look good on a page sound weird when spoken aloud. It makes me think it might be best for me to start listening to my books aloud before I complete my final draft, just to eliminate issues like I’ve heard in Ancient Ruins.
On that subject, I’ve completed listening to Chapter 30 of Ancient Ruins. The audiobook is just barely shy of 13 hours in length, and managing to k...
Spells of Old: Point of No Return
So, one of the oddities of setting up a Pre-Order is that 4 days beforehand, you have to have all your files ready and up to date. At that time, the files lock, and even if you know there are errors, you can’t fix them. Last night I passed that point. I’ve fretted a little over it, but by and large I’m sanguine about how Spells of Old turned out. Oh, it isn’t perfect, but it’s a heck of a lot better than Ancient Ruins was when the vast majority of my audience read it.
On the other hand, I und...

Audiobook Update
I’m having lots of updates today. Huh. Well, let’s tell you what’s going on!
I have reviewed the first 3 chapters of Ancient Ruins in audiobook format, and by and large I very much like it. I would try to compare it to other audiobooks, but I don’t listen to them (I read nearly 900 words per minute). I’m going to try to be done reviewing it by Wednesday. I don’t know how long any corrections I may have will take, but I’m hoping it’ll be out toward the end of the month.
Spells of Old also has...
