Newsletter Launch! (And Why You Should Care)
Ugh. Another person asking me to sign up for their newsletter?
Yes. I am, quite brazenly, asking you to do that.
Why should I? My inbox has enough clutter.
I’m sure it does, and I sympathize. However, I guarantee you that this newsletter will be worth your while.
I’m already following your blog. Why do I need to sign up for this now?
Because the monthly newsletter will have bonus stuff not released on the blog. I’m planning to shift quite a few of my regular announcements to the newsletter in...

Favorite TV Show Episode Blogathon: Ryker (The Virginian, S3E1)
“I wouldn’t be so high on myself if I was you, Ryker.”
“Oh, yes, you would—if you were me.”
I was very excited when I found out about the Annual Favorite TV Show Episode Blogathon on A Shroud of Thoughts, as it’s dedicated to classic TV shows. There are a ton of classic TV programs that are very dear to my heart, and most of them don’t get enough love these days. So I’m looking forward to introducing you to the coolest Western hero you’ve probably never heard of.
First of all, if you’ve ne...

Website Reboot and Other Announcements
At long last, the server change for this site is finally finished. As you can see, I’ve updated it with a new theme, a new logo, and a very nifty one-page scrolling format.
Yes, yes, I realize that you are overwhelmed by all this awesomeness, but please try to get a hold of yourselves. I’ll wait.
Are we good? Wonderful. So, now that the site is back in business, I have a few announcements to make.
Blog Name ChangeI’ve dropped the “Dragonthief” blog name for the time being. This is just to a...

Server Change
So I’m going to finally take the bull by the horns and do what I should have done a long time ago–move this blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. (Quick tip for those of you starting a blog–use the .org site from the beginning. It saves a lot of hassle.) I don’t anticipate any problems with transferring my followers over to the revised site, but if you should notice any problems once I’ve gotten everything changed, please let me know. The site may be a little glitchy over the next day or...

Hello Twelve, Goodbye Twelve
I lied. It didn’t take me a few days to come up with a longer post. I had this one mostly drafted already, and just finished it.
I will occasionally be sharing totally geeky posts about my favorite franchises on this blog. You have been warned. And while I’m warning people about stuff, please be advised that this post contains spoilers for the past two seasons of Doctor Who.
So, that being said…
THE TWELFTH DOCTOR IS REGENERATING. NOOOOOO. TWELVE, WE BARELY KNEW THEE.
*sniff* I’m fine. Reall...
I’m Back
I’ll bet you didn’t even notice I was gone.
I generally try to avoid “Still Alive” blog posts, for two reasons. One, they are usually lame excuses for not having posted in a long time, followed by another long pause in posting, then more excuses. Two, they cause that song from Portal to get stuck in your head. (Personally, I don’t consider that to be a bad thing, but others may disagree.)
In this case, however, such a post is justified, as I am finally recovering from a nasty cold. Hence, t...

Beaumont and Beasley Review Roundup
I’m extremely grateful for all the positive feedback The Beast of Talesend has received since its release. Several people have been kind enough to write in-depth reviews, and I’d like to highlight a couple of them here.
Freelance editor Sarah Collingwood says:
What would you do if every fairy tale you knew was not only real but also wrong? If all the stories were even better than the ones you’ve heard? That’s this book. Complete with vivid places, entertaining and well rounded characters, hil...

Realm Makers
Happy February, everyone! I have a lot of new blog posts planned for this month, but this one’s just going to be a quickie.
I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be at the Realm Makers conference in Reno, Nevada this year (July 27-29).

Given that I’ve met a lot of fellow writers recently who are regular RM attendees, I’m really looking forward to meeting them there in person. I’ve reserved a table to sell paperback copies of The Beast of Talesend, as well as a couple of other books I may...

Oops.
So, it’s come to my attention that the back-cover copy/blurb on Amazon for my book has a goof in it. Specifically, I somehow put in Nick’s name as “Nathaniel” and never realized it in all the times I checked and triple-checked the info. This is because Nick’s name originally was Nathaniel, but I changed it because beta-readers found too much of a mouthful. I’m working on getting this fixed; hopefully I will have the issue resolved within the next 24 hours or so. In the meantime, I realize the...
