Book Review–Healers and Warriors by Daley Downing
I’m taking a break from the craziness of Realm Makers preparation to review Healers and Warriors, the newest release in Daley Downing’s phenomenal “Order of the Twelve Tribes” series. This was one of my most highly-anticipated indie releases of the year, and it did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, it was even better than I thought it would be.
First, cover and synopsis. (Full disclosure: I designed the cover. The story is even more amazing than the cover. Which, clearly, is saying a lo...

Cover Reveal–Child of the Kaites by Beth Wangler
Today, I’m one of the lucky bloggers participating in the cover reveal for Beth Wangler’s amazing fantasy novel, Child of the Kaites. This is a captivating book with a richly-textured setting, and the cover definitely lives up to the standards set by the story. The book will be released on July 28th, but you can purchase the prequel story, The Lake of Living Water today for just $0.99!
Raiballeon once thought she would rescue her people from Izyphor, where they’re trapped in brutal slaver...

The Hound of Duville–Now Available!
[image error]Well, that was quick. Way quicker than I had originally intended, actually, but I had reasons.
The Hound of Duville, the second novella in the Strange Cases of Beaumont and Beasley miniseries, is now available! My initial plan had been to wait until later in the month to put this one up for sale, but I needed to publish the paperback so I can bring some copies along to the Realm Makers conference in St. Louis on the 19th, and so I figured it didn’t make much sense not to publish the ebook...

Today I’m featuring a sample of Annie Douglass Lima’s new sci-fi novel, Heartsong. The ebook is currently free on Amazon, but today is the last day of the promotion, so don’t miss the chance to get your copy!
Two alien worlds.
One teen emissary.
No reality she can trust.
Thirteen-year-old Liz Smith has been ripped away from one foster family after another for years, so the idea of a permanent home is tantalizing. Who cares if that home is a colony sixty-five thousand light-years from Earth?...

The Janus Elixir–Now Available!
In case you haven’t heard, the fourth book of the Beaumont and Beasley series–The Strange Cases of Beaumont and Beasley–is actually a miniseries in itself. It’s an anthology of six novellas, which I will be releasing one at a time over the next few months before collecting them all together in one volume.
“Oh, sure!” you say. “As if your books weren’t hard enough to keep track of! Why don’t you just make them MORE complicated?!”
First of all, sarcasm does not become you. And second, this is a...

Under the Skin–Author Interview with E.B. Dawson
Today’s author interview is with the very talented E.B. Dawson, author of multiple terrific science fiction books including The Creation of Jack series. Book 3, Under the Skin, will be available to purchase on June 23rd.
Please pause to acknowledge the awesomeness of the cover.
[image error]You didn’t acknowledge it enough. Go back and do it again.
Okay, that’s good. Now, the synopsis:
After narrowly avoiding catastrophe on the world’s first space colony, humanity struggles to redefine itself. Logan, Druc...

Character Interview: Arbrook Huxley and Sylvester Carthage
[image error]
(Pssst. Don’t tell anyone, but I’m currently incognito in the universe of Mollie E. Reeder’s new steampunk novel The Electrical Menagerie, posing as a reporter so I can interview her characters. In order to avoid breaking interdimensional law and blowing up the multiverse, I’ve got to maintain my cover. So for heaven’s sake, don’t tell anyone who I really am. Otherwise we might all turn to dust or something. And yes, I’m wearing a fake mustache. Try to ignore it. Be sure to read to the end...

Cliché: Author Interview with Allison Rose and Aerin S. Grey
Today I’m interviewing Allison Rose and Aerin S. Grey, the authors of the upcoming comedy-fantasy novel Cliché. You can read my review of the novel here. Spoiler alert: it’s awesome and hilarious and you should definitely read it when it comes out later this summer.
On to the interview!
What inspired each of you to become a writer? How did you get started?
Allison Rose: Honestly, when I was a kid, I read a story on Scholastic’s WriteIt forum about a girl who got to lead this dramatic double l...

Horseman—Announcing the Giveaway Winners!
See the green and blue swirly background? Huh? Isn’t it cool??
That was NOT a rhetorical question, people; I demand that the coolness be acknowledged. Round of enthusiastic and spontaneous applause in three, two, one…
Thank you, thank you. You’re too kind. So, on that note, the site is a little messy right now; broken/incorrect links and so forth. I should have all that fixed within the next day or so, which is good because I have a lot of big plans for this month. Including, but not limited...

Book Review: Cliché by Allison Rose and Aerin S. Grey
Today I’m reviewing Cliché, a comedy-fantasy novel by Aerin Grey and Allison Rose. I had the pleasure of being one of the book’s advance reviewers, and I highly recommend it. (This review is spoiler-free.)
[image error]Handsome rogue Xander Portmanteau has a problem. He’s the only chauvinist left in the feminist fantasy realm of Landria, whose problematically patriarchal tendencies have not been smashed. Why? Because his authoress, Jen Penrose and her (totally unrelated) protagonist, the elegant and opini...
