A Healthy Appetite

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but one of our dogs is on a (vet approved) super-limited ingredient diet for her allergies... this means every few days I boil a chicken and make a pot of organic brown rice. Into this is added peas & carrots, sweet potato if we have it, and that is IT.  By limited ingredient, I mean SERIOUSLY limited. It's helped calm the itching and quell the ear infections, plus Emma's taken off about 8 very necessary pounds, and she is, by all accounts, a much hap...

Full Cast Audio collaboration with the Théâtre Illuminata

The Management is pleased to announce that the Full Cast Audio recording of Eyes Like Stars is now available for preorder directly from FCA, shipping later this month.

It's really lovely, the way they've presented the book, and the voice actors are AMAZING.

Here, I'll prove it to you:

The biggest hurdle some days

Is just opening the file.

Yesterday, I had the house to myself, managed to produce a massive amount of new words before lunchtime, and lolled about the rest of the day feeling smug and pleased with myself.

Of course, today being Saturday, there were cartoons and pancakes and couch-cuddling... and no new words.

Yet.  There must be words. Words like tiny lumps of coal with the occasional sparkling, distracting bit that we can polish up. I can almost hear Dopey, Grumpy, and Uncaffeinated (the three...

Perchance To Dream Cover Art (ARC)

(Four gleaming points of light enter the scene, zipping this way and that in an apparent effort to disturb as much of the furniture in Lisa's house as possible. Upon closer inspection, they can be seen upon miniature stick horses, herding dust bunnies.)

Moth: Giddup! Yaw!

Mustardseed: You've let one escape under the sofa.

Moth: I'm not going under there. I might disappear, never to return, eaten by bits of dried up PlayDoh and Barbie clothes.

Cobweb: Ain't that the truth. Why the heck can't those...

A New-School Who Fan Mourns the Passing of Ten

Martha: So magic and stuff. That's a little bit Harry Potter.
The Doctor: Wait 'till you read Book 7. Oh, I cried.

Oh, the cleverness. I about exploded from the glee. And it hit me last night that we'd reached David's "book seven" and then I cried as well.

When Nine regenerated, I was wholly unprepared. As a recent convert to the series--due to a ...

Giving "Holiday Brain" The Boot

December was basically a whirlwind from which I am only now recovering, so to start the New Year off correctly, I've hammered out some new words on the WIP and booted all my excuses (I'm tiiiiiired, I have a houseful of cooooompany, where's the cooooooffee?) out the front door with the Christmas tree.

The Christmas tree, I will add, was going to stay up for a few more weeks (as is our tradition) until the Husky suddenly noticed it. A tree! In the living room! OMG! And thus it was peed upon.  *...

Trying to decide

What the heck to do for Ye Olde Birthday on Wednesday. I still have a tiny bit of the plague, but geez, a girl only turns thirty-mumble once, right? *G*

I'm thinking massive amounts of cupcakes, a viewing of Sherlock Holmes (or The Princess and the Frog) in a super-nice theater, and dinner. And jewelry. And Daniel Henney to pack me around the city on his shoulders. And more jewelry. And a new corset. And Taylor Lautner to carry me when Daniel's strength gives out. And more cupcakes!

So...

Digital Candy

So... um... if the caramels don't set up, it's because I dropped Angel's digital thermometer into the boiling vat of sugary awesomeness about two degrees before they were done.

Fudge was also accomplished today, with less "OMGOHNOEZ/flail*
