In the murky darkness of the ocean bottom, shrouded in mystery and rusticles, Titanic lives out her days -- distant, but not forgotten. The serenity and order that surrounds her belies the great tragedy that sent this majestic ship to its final resting place. A cup standing on an upright washstand and neatly stacked china dishes juxtaposed with twisted and torn metal -- there is

Coming Soon: October Baby
I had a chance to watch October Baby with my family and I have to say I loved the movie! It's about a young woman who discovers that she was adopted--but more than that, that she survived an abortion attempt by her birth mother.
It's an impacting, moving story. It's told well, and they did a great job with the production. The story wasn't an easy one to tell, yet they pulled it off well

A beautiful young lady greets us as we approach the one-of-a-kind, unsinkable, floating palace. She directs us to the ticket office where our party of three receives a first-class ticket for me, a second-class ticket for my teenager, and a third-class ticket for my husband.

The Other Side of Mom

Do you ever wonder how your kids see you? I do...often. Most of the time I'm sure they see me as this crazy woman sitting at her computer typing away, wearing sweats and ponytail, and completely ignoring the TV blaring from six feet away.
I remember when I first started writing my mentor Robin Gunn told me about a time when a woman approached her (young-at-the time) daughter

111 Classic Movies To Share With Your Kids
Just the other day I was looking for a movie to watch with a friend's kids. They love High School Musical and all the new movies, but they watch those over and over again. Remembering the movies I loved as a kid--and ones my older kids loved--I started making a list of movies I'd love to share with my young friends. I also asked my Facebook and Twitter friends for input.

Favorite Pins | The Better Mom
It seems as if I learn something new about Pinterest every day. It's turned into my newest addiction. (Just ask my family!)
One cool thing I discovered is groups using Pinterest as a community bulletin board. Members of a group work as contributors to post items on a board. And then other members--any readers!--can comment on the pins and open up a conversation.
