I hope you had a pleasant, relaxing experience with Mother...

I hope you had a pleasant, relaxing experience with Mother Nature last week, and you are staying safe! With everything going on around the world right now, it’s a great time to reconnect with nature! Next up on my list of ways to open up the lines of communication with God involves a little darkness. I believe you can connect with God any time of day, but I also think God is most powerful within you before the sun rises. Not only is it the best time to connect to the other side, but it’s probably the only time of day when you don’t have any distractions. Don’t worry, I heard you take a big sigh, but if you are looking for a little peace in your life, I suggest you give this one a try.
I don’t care what part of the world you live in or what time you set your alarm, but just make sure you get your ass up before the sun. What you do with your time is up to you, but I strongly recommend not turning on the TV, and for the love of God, don’t grab your damn phone. You can grab a coffee or put on some music but try your best to limit any distractions. You got all day to deal with other people’s shit! I’ll get more into the importance of a solid morning routine in a later post, but for now, just get out of bed, grab a coffee and relax for an hour before you have to get ready for work.
I get up at 3:30 am every morning to give thanks, meditate and write. In my twenties, this was the time I got home from the bar, but in my forties, I use this time to work on myself and connect with my vision. The only exception is Sunday, and despite what you might think, it has nothing to do with my religion. Now and then, I like to polish off a bottle of wine, and there’s no way I’m dealing with two screaming kids hungover on three hours of sleep, not happening! I don’t care if you tell yourself you’re not a morning person or if you think I’m crazy. Just give it a try for a few days before you let the snooze button take your soul. I dare you!

My daughter Sophia wasn’t happy when she saw the last photo I posted of Ollie and me without her, so I had to be fair!
