Keys to No Where
Lessons Learned
Marching in the Greek isles
With my army
It was if just yesterday I was
Just learning
My dad’s shield
A spear I made
I used my mother’s dagger
To dress fish
I watched my brother and
Sister walk along the
Same path
Here in the hell gates
Where there was no
Benevolence
Watched them scrap and survive
Now I’ve grown up to
Characterize
The teachings and lessons
Combat flavors I learned
As a Spartan in formation
And then I was Viking
In the fjords of Norway
I swung a mighty axe
And moved alone
Amon...

Flu Strain
I hope this pill works
If it doesn’t I’ll have to take
Another one before bed
For my cough a shot
Of syrup
This headache should be killed
By a white pill called advil
I only got it ’cause I cough
So much
To the point my lungs need
Suspension better than bone
So it crawls through my body
And an x-ray might reveal
An infrastructure too complex
To comprehend
Tracking from one site to another
Farming for pain
Dullness in the head
And a knife in my back
Ibuprofin should
Take care of that
My spine...

Passed Through His Story
A spectre of choices
Just who am I?
An umbra of history
An ancient part of
His story
He who was deciding
Eclipsing the mystery
Those times all lie frozen
In stasis, never to be
Don’t know where they could’ve gone
Time fractures under siege
His forms have transformed
They built a pyramid
I see right where he came from
From atop the bodies

This was a project taken up about some point in the latter half of my senior year of high school. If I remember correctly, I originally set out to make it for a peer in that class whom I admired, though I never ended up giving it to her. I have a difficult complex when it comes to things I’ve made with any bit of meaning. I end up unable to part with it once it creates that much sentiment in me. I should be able to recognize that as an artist, it’s horrible to make things to give to people a...

History
I miss the young me
The stuff was free me
Hated brushing my teeth
And always ate candy me
Before an innocent me
Getting flowers for his
High school girlfriend
On a Schwinn bike me
I miss the young me
I miss the old me
5’11 since
Middle school me
Playing in the dirt me
6 hours every day me
I miss the old me
I miss who I used to be
Before I had to see what
Being broken up was me
Not knowing what death
Looks like me
Not wondering about the
Next life me
I miss the old me
Straight shooting

We’re walking
Up a rarely seen
Trail
We’re at the pass
We’re in between
Tall fir trees
Up above we can see
We’re in a
Massive valley
We’re hiking through
A forest
We’re walking up
Like explorers
We’re at the shore
Of Sheep Lake
Miles inland we’ve
Found this gem
Clear water
Snowcaps around
A great meadow
This forest
We’ve walked through
