Carthic S Let me explain.

Carthic S Let me explain. The data services are cheap as long as you stick to informing yourself. Data services become expensive when you want content with heavy size like videos (Facebook or Free Basics don’t provide these content).

For being informed you can get internet packs starting from Rs. 9 (US $ 0.11). This is cheap. You can browse through the entire internet. This is not expensive.

Facebook is making a walled garden. The problem is they can even manipulate the information they provide to their customers. Now, when you don’t have open internet how will you verify the information? You have to believe what you have. This is dangerous.

We don’t want the internet to what television is now. They are paid enough to manipulate people. We won’t allow this to happen to the internet , this is the reason we fight.

The kind of data which free basics provide are mostly text based and restricted. As I said you can get better access to information with these cheap data packs starting at Rs.9 (US $ 0.11)

You also need to understand Facebook is a company for profit. If they spend millions of dollars on free basics ads in India, do you think its for charity?

They are tricking people with the whole idea of “Free Internet”. A person who has access to a phone can surely afford the data packs I mentioned.

Say, you are being offered junk food free of cost (This can be harmful for your body). The healthy food cost $0.50. Which is better? The free food which you later pay a heavy price for or the healthy food?

Don’t get carried away by the words “Free Internet”. It’s not free. You will pay the price for it. The so called “Free Social Network” has sold the data of it’s users to the corporates already. People have paid the price by compromising their privacy.

They are not getting access to any websites.

They are not getting access to any websites. But, few web services registered through Facebook. So they will be accessing these via facebook. Their privacy is compromised.

Facebook also has the rite to reject any web service. By doing this , they will be a monopoly. If you want to launch your service, now you have to register yourself through facebook. If they see your service as a threat they can reject you.

If they want to give free internet. Let them give access to their entire internet. Their intentions are clearly evil.

Free basics was intended to people using reliance telecom operator.

Free basics was intended to people using reliance telecom operator. It’s not access to complete internet. But to a few registered services. Most of their content were only text based.

There is no direct alternative for free basics. However people can get better benefits if they recharge with Rs.194 (U.S $3). They get 1.25GB 2G data for a month.

Medium Reading List Colour Labels

Making a Simple Neural Network

I love medium’s reading list. But, my reading list gets piled up soon. I want to prioritise some stories over the other. This is not possible now. I am not a designer. But, this might be a simple solution.

Colour Labels

Just click one of the colours while adding a story.

In the reading list, select a colour and you will see the respective stories.

I hope medium will solve this soon.

Brother I agree to that.

Brother I agree to that. I know its a neural network experiment. I even understand how the tech works. I really appreciate the work. But if its going to be a product. Then user experience is important. Am making a point in that perspective.

No, my point is not about the technical perspective.

No, my point is not about the technical perspective. AutoDraw is a product whose value is to create art faster. An user using this doesn’t care about what tech goes behind. He want to make art faster. My point is completely on user’s perspective.

AutoDraw with Google Now

AutoDraw is a brilliant tool. However, after using it multiple times. I thought of something which can be of help. If I want a flower, I have to make a rough sketch.

I will get this.

Great!

Now, if I want a tree. I have to make a rough sketch again. This will require little effort and a few seconds. Imagine if we had google now integration and I could just say “I need a tree”.

AutoDraw still make sense because not all times I know the name of the thing I want to draw. Also if I want the suggestion be close to what I draw.

In a developer’s perspective it makes sense not to do something like this because you miss a lot on training data.

In a user’s perspective this can be of great help.

AutoDraw with Google Now was originally published in Hacker Noon on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
