The Identity Argument For The Soul

C.S Lewis once wrote "You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body".1 Most Christians believe that we are not merely physical bodies, but that we are immaterial entities that live inside our bodies. We are embodied spirits. This view is known as Substance Dualism. The Bible very clearly teaches substance dualism (see, for example, 1 Samuel 28, 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, Philippians 1:20-22, 2 Corinthians 12:2-4), so if you believe The Bible is divinely inspired and inerrant, then you...

What To Expect From Cerebral Faith In The New Year

Today is New Year's Eve. You've read 101 blog posts this year (100 if you don't include this one) and have witnessed the release of my second book A Hellacious Doctrine: A Defense Of The Doctrine Of Hell, a book that responds to various different arguments that the doctrine of Hell impugns God's goodness.

Where does the ministry go from here? What should you expect from me in 2018? Aside from a lot of blog posts, I have several projects planned for the coming year.

An E-Book Adaption On My Prob...

My 5 Favorite Arguments For God's Existence

A few months ago in a Facebook group (I think it was either Molinist - Official Page or The Christian Apologetics Support Group), someone made a poll asking what everyone's favorite argument for God's existence was. The poll creator exempted the historical case for the resurrection of Jesus from being among the options because, let's face it, we all would put that one in our number 1 spot as the resurrection of Jesus is where the rubber hits the road. If it's a historical event, the entire Ch...

Q & A: Death Before The Fall & The Extent Of The Flood

cerebralfaith.blogspot.com/2017/12/if-evolution-were-true-what-would.html?m=1

Thanks for this! Loved the 1st one,  btw I have a question-was there death beforr the fall?  And if there were then was it not evil? I think if there ever were then they weren't considered evil in thr stratton model since adam's death and eve's were spiritual death but those deaths were only natural deaths part of nature,  but isn't physical death just a result of spiritual death?

Also,  what is yo...

If Evolution Were True, What Would Happen To Adam and Eve?

If evolution were true, what would we Christians do about the Bible's teachings on Adam and Eve, their relationship with sin's entrance into the world, and the doctrine of original sin? As I've argued in several blog posts on this website, I believe Christianity and Evolution are compatible, and many of the objections lodged at Theistic Evolution simply don't work. For example, when scientists talk about "random" mutations, they don't mean the mutations are purposeless or chance events. They...

Is The Doctrine Of The Incarnation Coherent?

Reasons' Greetings, everyone! Merry Christmas! I thought now would be a good time to write a blog post on what this holiday is all about: The incarnation of God Almighty. Christmas is the time we celebrate the birth of the God-Man Jesus.

The Bible says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ....The Word became flesh and made his dwe...

A Beautiful Case For God

Introduction: Recently, I read a book called "Does Beauty Point To God?: Investigation By An Ex-Atheist Scientist" by John Kinson. The book argued for the existence of God using the existence of objective beauty in the universe. I was glad to get this book as The Argument From Beauty is one of the natural theology arguments I knew nothing about. It was good. I gave it 3 stars on Amazon.com and Good Reads. I took notes as I read so that I could quickly memorize this new information. In this b...

Resolving Christmas Conundrums

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and has been for as long as I've walked this Earth. As a kid, it was because I got a boatload of toys on Christmas morning that I got to play with as Mom and Dad prepared Christmas dinner for us and the rest of my family. As someone who is now a born-again Christian, my primary reason has shifted from getting gifts to praising God for taking on human flesh to begin His mission of redeeming fallen humanity. We all know the story: of how Gabriel appeared...

If Actual Infinites Cannot Exist, How Can We Say God Is Infinite?

In defense of the Kalam Cosmological Argument, apologists such as William Lane Craig, Frank Turek, and myself will argue for the second premise (i.e that the universe had a beginning to its existence) by arguing that an actually infinite number of things are impossible. If an actually infinite number of things are impossible, then a beginningless universe cannot exist since it would involve an actually infinite number of things existing, namely, past events. If you've read my book Inference T...

Q and A: Some Clarity On God's Relationship To Logic

Hello, I recently met your blog through a survey of mine.
I liked your blog, I found it interesting in what it presented. In this publication here I had liked it a lot, although I have visible doubts

http://cerebralfaith.blogspot.com.br/2017/04/is-god-beyond-logic.html?m=1

<--- Here. You say (in bold)

1- If the laws of logic do not apply to God, then that means that God can actualize contradictions, and if God can actualize contradictions then that means that God could have brought it ab...
