Finally it has arrived, that first line, THE line

Ah, it has finally happened… finally arrived… finally.

Yesterday was such a grand day. It started as usual. Water on the face. Walk the pooch, well, let him out (shhhh). Make myself a cup of Java. Converse a bit with the Creator. Check in with all of you and then the book stats (it appears a few of you made some purchases this weekend through Amazon, ty very much, enjoy. I look forward to hearing all about your reads!) Made some new friends on some of the sites. Returned a portion of your  emails

I don't sign shirts, or boobies, and especially not buttocks!

Yesterday Miss Brandi advised me that folks up there in Brainerd were lining up around the corner to read Courage of Fear… of course my instant response was…

At Barnes and Noble, right? … not at your desk, right?

I didn't get a response. So I sent a note to Barb and asked…

Then I thought… I know, whoat whoa again…

Then one of my friends on facebook made the same comment.

Then I thought… I know. I know, whoat whoa again and again…

Who am I kidding?

Who cares!?

Again one of those times, like I have shared

Me? Minn? I need wool. Does anyone have wool…

K, I had to share with you all…

I told Barb (yes, the Minn. reader; the bright light, now star) that if she got a bunch of folks to read Courage of Fear I would come up and hang out.

Yepper.

That's right.

That's what I said.

I would come out and hang out with them.

She told me I should get ready.

I thought she was joking.

Well, today, I spend time with the pooch and just chill.

Then, yes, I came back to you.

I check my goodreads…. And Miss Brandi Sullivan, indeed from Brainerd, is already on page 123 of C

Taking a day… but a poem from a friend

This author be pooped… so I have decided to take a break…spend the day with the pooch, Indie… Do our hair and nails, most likely.

I did want to share a cute quick before moving on.

I stay in touch with all of you generally through here and the multiple other sites I am on. My personal friends/acquaintances, for the most part, I will shoot mass emails to about different updates. Of course when the Brainerd piece came out, I shot them an email with the link. One of my artist friends returned this:

Wild Fire… a simple act of kindness

If you all read yesterday's blog, or are one of my friends on facebook, you realize the day I had yesterday. However powerful it may have been it was reflective and indeed sad. The events from my evening before, plus the fact that on that evening, as shawn my roommate put it, not only were we placed center in a tragic situation, our house was indeed the triage for everything that surrounded the horrific incident.

Both Shawn and I were different yesterday. How could we not be? Shawn especially. Yo

Dear Heavenly Father, watch over this child…

"Dear Heavenly Father, watch over this child…" My arms clasped more firm around her as my mind begged my Creator, "…for we both know too well what comes next." And it did.

Yesterday I turned on my computer and I thought, "Now what? What should I write about today?" Don't get me wrong. It wasn't that I had no stories to tell. As I stated in a past blog–I am an artist, my brain never shuts off. Yet which story to tell? I turned to my friends on facebook and wrote; "oh what, oh what shall I write ab

Fun with a reader… pizza from California to Minnesota.

The more and more I am getting known the more and more I understand why artists flee from their fans with dark shades and floppy hats. Not saying I agree with it, yet understand it a bit better for sure. Will I do so myself one day? Oh goodness, I hope not. Yet getting more and more known, especially more easily accessible through social websites, I am beginning to understand how some folks can just come up from out of no where and literally attack you… even some who you may have thought to be y

A grand Brunch with an old friend…The American Dream

Yesterday I started taking you on my past journey's of my rationalization of being an artist and how that effects my friendships… today is kinda', well sorta' a continuation of yesterday.

Recently, my book has started to climb in sales. Folks are talking more about Courage of Fear and indeed even thinking about it after the pages are closed. You, the readers, are giving Courage of Fear incredible reviews… smiles.  Sometimes, even, folks will take the time to hunt me down via the web and will writ

True artists and their friends…

The past year or so finding time for my real-life friends has been difficult. As most writers can probably affirm, first we spend months, maybe even years, thinking about a story; then we spend months, if not years writing and editing the story and they marketing…  if you are your own PR/marketing person/firm it is truly a 24/7 job. Unlike the firms one can hire to do the work for them… it doesn't pay well either. However necessary. . . and in many cases like many other things in life it can be
