Thursday Thoughts ~ sausages

So many thoughts a second is how the brain actually works. I had several pandemic posts all planned out and another thought or three said, "no corona thoughts for this Thursday"
Today the predominant thought brings up a question for you guys out there.

How do you cook your sausages?

All around the world you can find variations of sausages like, even further beyond what we can imagine.
Spicy sausages and bratwurst are a couple that come to mind. Another is, oh yeah one of my favourites, to sit and order chorizo. Chorizo varies from country to country and I always order it when I can, delicious.
What about you though? How do you cook em?

Here in Ireland we love our pork sausages. We do not like a whole lot of tricking around done to them though. We have never been too fond of having the sausage extra stuffed with apples or pears or any other kind of messing around.
Our typical breakfast sausage is spiced a little, not too much.
We tend to have bland food here in Ireland by comparison to the high end gourmet cuisines from around the world.
Our sausage though, oh boy, don't mess with them.

There are Irish nationals all around the world who dream of the sausages back home. Yes there are many who live in Australia or United States who long for the bread and the butter from back home. The big thing the majority long for though, are the sausages. I am one person who cannot fault anyone for these kinds of cravings. They are just simply delicious.

Like I said nothing too fancy at all. The good reliable pork links. "Yup, thems the lads alright". I am not sure how good they are for your health, think of it, greasy fried pork links... Cannot be too good for your overall health at all.
We Irish love them. Yes you are right in thinking along the lines of stereo types, we love our potatoes too.
Here are some of the brands that are very popular, in case you ever want to stray from your life long fav and branch out to try any of the others. Denny, Kearns, Clonakilty, Superquinn brand, these are just a few. I am quite sure there are a few other local butchers close to other parts of the country that are churning out awesome sausages too.

So how do you cook them?

My main reason for asking is that I have a preferred method of cooking the sausages and I often wondered, does everybody cook them the same?

There have been times where my gut will scream at me to fire up the frying pan and slow cook them in a shallow fry situation.
Majority of times I prefer to cook the sausages under the grill.
There are times I will spice up some oil in the pan and lash the sausages in to the new heavily seasoned mix in the pan and slow cook em so they are as delicious as always, with an extra lashing of "spicyness". Getting back to the grilling though. I can endure checking on them and turning them slowly. Not ever getting them cooking fully on any side before turning. It is like the best mind game one can play. How do I get the sausages to have an even brown cooked appearance on all sides at the same time while being cooked perfectly on the inside as well....The real question though and what I really am looking forward to hearing from you all.

How do you cook them?

Why harp on about the sausages.
I feel it is a worthy question to throw out there. It is like asking you, how do you make your mashed potatoes? Everybody has their little quirk or way of doing it.
So the question of questions with the sausages is this.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you pierce the skin while you are cooking sausages?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Do you take a fork and prod holes into the skin of the sausage to help it cook on the inside?

Is there a process where you pierce the sausages before putting them under the grill or on the pan?
Do you have some special method that you get them turning brown on all sides just slightly first and then pierce them so that way the inside can catch up in the cooking process? There are many questions to ask all about cooking our sausages.
Do ya spice em up, grill em plain, cut them up smaller and use the wok?
Many many questions indeed.The main question though is all about piercing them or no piercing?

Perhaps, let's say you use the pan always.
Do you burn em up a bit and then pierce them, this can be a bit dodgy though, cause, sometimes the juice inside of them is almost like boiling fat and it can come out pretty rapid once you wait too long before piercing. Be careful with that one. Do you never pierce em and just be very very careful to cook the sausages slow enough so that they are cooking through to the center as they brown nice and evenly on the outside? Could anyone ever imagine how there is such a bunch of possibilities all linked to our links.
Sausages of all things.
Oh God they are tasty little buggers though. So even though there are many Irish folks all around the world right now who maybe long for the taste of back home. A sausage sandwich, which we in Ireland would call a

           "sossy sambo".

It is a simple dish to make. Fresh sliced bread, heavily buttered with salty, creamy butter (another to die for taste of Ireland) and a tiny taste of tomato ketchup. If you do not have any tomato ketchup you can substitute with either red or brown sauce. Ha~ha.
Cooked sausage, sliced down the length of it so you get two nice precise halves, lash it into the ready buttered bread and have at it as quickly as you can before all the melted butter destroys your fingers.
Oh yes, that's a feed alright. Now back to the big question.Do you pierce your sausages when

  ~  Cooking them?
  ~  Pre cooking?
  ~  During cooking?

  ~  Never pierce them?Let me hear a few answers if you would. I wish to get adventurous with my own sausage cooking.

Thank you and stop licking your lips, people might not get what you are doing reading this and sitting there licking your lips....
That is not too bad, I have been here writing this and my nose is trying to tell me I am smelling sausages cooking. It is 2 a.m and there are no sausages cooking anywhere. I am probably smelling the memories of the undeniably satisfying beauty that our Irish sausages are. Have a happy Thursday & enjoy a Thursday thought about sausages.

Comment below with some of your tips for the perfect sausage. Thanks.

Wednesday Wisdom ~ National Pride

We all have some sort of patriotism inside of us.
Such national pride can be something we feel at it's best at times when we are involved in a group activity of sorts. A celebration of our national holidays among friends. We may have a bar~b~q with friends and within the group setting we might feel good about how patriotic we are as we celebrate a "national holiday".
Usually the sense of national pride is an individual thing, something we feel inside of our lungs and in the blood flowing through our own veins.
What is this "national pride" stuff anyway?

We criticize so often our fellow country men & women.
We look to our fellow patriots for reasons to dislike our fellow patriots.
Figure that one out?
Exactly, big question mark on this one alright.
What does this ?

We can have a big national pride inside of us yet we do nothing for our country?
Of course there are many who do something everyday that can be considered very patriotic. The obvious ones are obvious.
To all of those of you who wear the flag of your country on your bodies in the form of tattoo.
Others fly the flag on their home, in the garden or on the porch.
What is this proud feeling?

We can look to the states and see the difference of opinion, usually played out in the political arena.
States that are either, red or blue.

One radio personality used to refer to the mixing of politics within people as
"the demicans or the republicrats". Dr. Michael Savage was that man's name. He believed and has written the book on the subject, "liberalism is a mental disorder".
The reference to democrats being half republican and republicans being half democrats. Confused really as to their politics.
In the states you are either one or the other and that is that.
What about all of the people who are proud to be American though?
The split in political opinions can tend to blur how people see.
Both sides can be patriotic though.
Being patriotic is not an automatic solution to the difference that exists in their politics though.
Strange that isn't it?

I would imagine that if all the people of a country carry with them daily, a sense of national pride and the feeling of being a proud member of their society and most importantly a patriotic pride in their country, how on earth could political differences exist?
How can two opposing political party's despise each other politically and then at the same time both individually call themselves "proud" or "patriotic" ?
Shouldn't patriotism begin with being proud of your fellow "patriot"?

The current world pandemic has many people up in arms with a blame game of sorts.
We, myself included wish to look and scrutinize the handling of the pandemic by our respective governments. I find many issues with how my own government has handled the situation. I am quite disgusted at how my own government have acted outside of the guidelines of the constitution and may very well have broken rules and laws that are clearly defined in our constitution. These issues are for a much longer post, for another day perhaps.

The point I wish to raise with you today under the title of Wednesday ~ Wisdom and national pride.
~What is it that you are doing to assist
your country in the slowing and bringing
to a halt, this corona virus?

As a patriot, what are you doing to satisfy the PRIDE of your own nation and the pride at which you carry with yourself daily?

One simple concept that perhaps could win out over all of the political indifference.
A simple position that can be taken by all individuals as patriots

FIGHT THE VIRUS TOGETHER

Do for your country as a matter of national patriotic pride.

WAIT IT OUT

Remain indoors just a little longer. Please do not take chances with the virus and your fellow country men and women. Do it as a practice, do it as a way to show a full demonstration of national pride in your country.

Wisdom says,
A sense of National Pride will help us all win outright for our nations.
Any other kind of behaviors or acts would be that which go against your own nation.

Rolling the dice with this deadly virus appears to be a foolish approach and the wise choice is always to operate on the side of caution and not take any chances.
This is why we have endured "lock down" and such ridiculous nonsense thus far.

We will walk tall again in our respective countries and we will know that we do not just say we are proud of our country, we will speak it knowing how we took decisive action to bring about an end to the virus within our own country that we are so proud to call home.

In Ireland, this weekend marks the beginning of a summer type of bank holiday weekend. Our country is currently operating under the recommended guidelines of our national health department. These guidelines suggest that we all remain on restrictive movement and under a light weight "lockdown". The corona virus situation may very well be, beginning to turn the corner and our cases and deaths and infected people may all begin to see some drops in the numbers.
This weekend for us as a nation marks a very significant weekend in beating this virus.
It is our time as a nation to show how proud we are as individuals. How a collective pride in our heritage and everything about our nation as a people of the world and as a people who are a race of people in the entire world.
We can show our national pride and we can beat this corona virus.

Let us carry our national pride PROUDLY through our bank holiday weekend.

Are we WISE on a Wednesday?

Tuesday Thoughts, what are they, exactly?

A thought for the day, makes sense, doesn't it?
Perhaps today we will think about the corona virus, at some point in our day. To think that it is possible for the majority of the world could possibly think about the same subject within the same day, wow! Blows the mind a little bit.

Has it ever been possible that at any or on any given day that the majority of the world may actually share the same thought? I suppose it would be fair to say that we will not all think of the corona virus in the same way. We will probably think of the corona virus today in as many individual ways as there are individuals.

For once in our lifetime it may actually be possible that the vast majority of the world will consider / think about the same thing, all of us on the same day.
Not because we are bombarded by every media outlet having some portion of their shows mentioning the virus. Even I am talking about it here.
Solely because it is a very real thing and it is happening in our world.

Can I bother you to focus on another thought for the day though?
How awesome would it be that by the power of thought, that we all could think about our own health and well being for just a piece of our day?

For perhaps the first time in our history we are all beginning to understand what anxiety is or what it may be to worry about something about life. We may all be sharing some similar thoughts and for the first time we can find a common ground that we have been slightly nudged in to by the covid situation.

It appears that the general consensus of many countries of the world, that the best solution is, stay indoors and away from people.
Nobody has suggested we turn the switch off on the Internet or anything radical like that. We can still very much communicate with each other. We can still remain connected in all the ways possible.
What might best for all of us right now is to consider ourselves first for a change.
By doing this we actually are putting others first or more like a shoulder to shoulder joint first place.
Keeping our social distance is helping us NOT to spread the virus.
By remaining at home we are securing our place in the world as a person who is not willing to catch the virus and secondly, a person who is NOT willing to spread the virus.

Of course there are essentials to continue our lives.
We must venture out to acquire the essentials that we need to live.
In doing so, we wear a mask. We wear protective gloves and we must make sure we wash our hands when we return home and that we change our clothes.
These are the simple requirements we MUST follow to play our role indivually in containing and bringing about a halt to the virus.

I am aware there will always be the selfish person who will say "screw that, if I am gonna get it, I get it!"
I am also aware that we can not all believe the same thing all of the time. If this were the case politics would not exist as we know them. There will always be a difference of opinion in one form or other.

How about we think a different way.
(a)
The virus is outside of my home and if I venture out I stand a chance of catching it.
(b)
The virus exists outside of my home and if I remain at home I do not stand a chance of catching it.

This simple view may help some of you make the choice to remain at home this coming weekend.

I would not like to catch it and I would not like to spread it.

This is a time that we can use in our lives to form some new habits. Learning how to stay at home and be by ourselves. Learning to become comfortable with our thoughts and our feelings. We can create a zen feeling inside of our own home by allowing peace and quiet in.
Allowing peace not just into our home, into our minds and our emotional self.

Remain at home.
Try and find peace, to be calm.
Use our time right now to fully unwind.
Get ready for when the world opens up again and be the greater person. The person you have always been.
The perfect you.

These are possible thoughts to have while we remain on lock down. Which is of course is a course of action to help save lives.

Well done you for staying st home.
Well done.

Monday Motivation ~ Life today

Monday motivation, the great two words to begin any week off.
Mind you, let's be fair. Monday is not what it used to be, Wednesday afternoon feels like Monday these past few weeks.

Lock down is a hard thing to cope with for even the free spirited. How have you been doing with the whole corona virus thing?

A continuous cycle of motivation is required during these times. Why wait for Monday to come along?
Is it week 6 or week 7? Who the heck knows anymore. Each day has been bleeding into the next. The daily activities have been focused around what is going to be cooked today and what is going to be a snack.
How can we find a level of motivation that can keep us going through another week of lock down?

What I have found and what I have written about it in my book, Layman's Handbook.
This book is about taking a little time to review and basically, bring about a little pause in our lives. In doing so we can find a little time to do some introductory meditation techniques. Slowing down our mind is probably the most valuable exercise I have ever learned.

It is not only to slow our mind, because, of course yes, what then? What can we do when we use our time right now to slow it all down?

The universe has brought about a forced stop on a massive majority of the human race right now.
By bringing our minds to a point of slow down, we can focus a little more clearly on some of the more basic elements of our lives.
Breaking it all down to basics is the chance we have been crying out for in our life.
Look at the words I am writing, even here;

Slow down
Meditation
Focus
Clearly
Basics

So where does this all align with motivation?

Bringing our mind to a slow down pace will allow us to focus on some of the basics. Clearing our mind and doing so while breathing, slowly & steadily through meditation, this can allow us to focus on our breath, though more importantly are the little murmurs of feelings that begin to occur.

This alignment process which can take about 10 minutes out of your day. Bringing the mind from, let's say far left field & the emotions from, again let's say far right field. It is the bringing into line of these two items of our being that will boost us beyond anywhere we have ever dreamed.
We can take full control over our lives, we can grow to a great new height of achievement.
But how?

The universe is always speaking to us. Through friends and their advice. Through Chakras and auras, the lights of another human being and our own light that we shine on other people.
The universe has or shall we say, is, telling us all that a slow down is needed.
Can we be intuitive enough to recognize what it is within our own lives that we must use this time for?

Try some exercises during your time at home. Try some breathing exercises. Bring about a point of focus in your mind. Focus on some of the simple basic aspects of life. The trees and how they grow for example. Enjoy the feelings that occur for you. Allow yourself to BE.

Your motivation to do this?
The changes that can occur in your life and your own way of being. These are changes that you will value for ever.
Bringing about times of pause into your daily life is something you CAN do & very easily.

Should you wish to bring about your highest levels of achievement or perhaps a little piece more contentment into your daily life.
It is this that is your motivation. Your motivation is to use this time of slow down to practice more and more slow down in your own personal life.

The results are not overnight and possibly not some fantastic name in lights type situation. Definitely not immediately. The immediate results are how on "top of your game" you will be.
Whether you are a home maker or a go get em sales person. From any level that you find yourself at in life.
A great way to maximize performance. Enjoy every aspect of everything you do & LOVE LIFE.
These are your motivations to begin. Begin what I subtitled the book Layman's Handbook, "A journey to SELF". Self stands for,
Succeed
Elevate
Live
Free

This journey to self is all about using simple techniques and taking the angle of view on life, that it is all really possible. Nothing is beyond you. You can achieve all that you desire.
The "simple tools to change how we live" are all covered in the itemized chapters of the book.

Take advantage of this time the universe has offered us. Begin self help today.
Become motivated daily in your life.
And as a very clear sign/signal this corona virus is telling us,

how important it is right now to

"BREATHE"

10 million Euro, wasted for Donald Trump~ #Doonbeg.

There has been a recent news article about Donald Trump & his hotel and resort in Ireland known as Doonbeg. Doonbeg is a village in the west to southwest region of Ireland. The recent news article is about how Mr. Trump has laid off the workers of the hotel so they can avail of the bail out welfare package from the welfare system in Ireland called the "covid 19 payment scheme". Mr. Trump has not offered to his workers to pay them their salary through the pandemic crisis.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One Thursday afternoon my good friend Mr. K. R. phoned me up and said “hey I am off of work and have time, I want to see Airforce 1”.
It took me like 15 to 20 seconds to figure out what he was talking about. Ah, it clicked with me, the president of the United States is in Ireland this week on an “unofficial/official” visit.
Yeah why not, it is only a spin down the road and back.
We struck off in a company car of his, the company that he works for as a commercial fisherman. A brand new Ford ranger crew cab 4 door 191 D reg, brand new.
We headed off that afternoon and when we were cruising along the motorway it seemed like we might actually dodge the showers of rain, the brighter skies were west of us as we drove almost floating like, in the pleasant Ford ride.
We arrived at our destination, Shannon Airport and were waved through at the Garda (police) checkpoint, so we drove on in along the fencing of the airfield. We did take notice of the protesters who were somewhat fenced in at the entrance to the airport grounds but air force 1 was our target.
There she stood, out in the airfield and accompanied by two smaller jumbo jets which also stood proud with the US flags across their tail fins. Painted the same blue and white. Mr Trump definitely brought the entourage, that’s for sure.
We took some last minute video clips as we drove along the fence admiring the enormity of the airplane itself.
We had no idea how our evening was going to go nor did we have any precise plans.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As we left the Shannon airport, we were again saluted by the Garda (police) as we drove out and on past the encampment of protesters.
Just to explain, An Garda is the Irish language for our police here in Ireland.

I am not sure if my friend fully approves of me making public this story so I will have to refer to him as K. R. as I relay to you that particular evening's carry on.
We were back on the motorway out of Shannon Airport and a series of roundabouts give you options to head for Limerick City or head for Co. Clare, primarily the large town of Ennis which is on a Limerick to Galway route.

Mr. K. R. was at the helm and as his life is spent as a trawler man, the helm is somewhere he is most familiar to be.
My good friend is an avid Donald Trump supporter and true fan really, I remember back in the day of the presidential race in the U. S. when he had his "make America great" cap and loved everything about the man.
There have even been times he has asked me to send tweets of appreciation to Mr. Trumps twitter account.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
K.R. drove us in the direction of Clare County and says we will go and see if we can see him, maybe he will visit the pubs or restaurants of the local towns as Donald Trump Jr. & brother Eric had done so the night before.
“Let’s see what this Doonbeg place is all about”. On our way out to the Clare coast we saw a funny poster or two, posted by Paddy Power, an old derelict petrol station has had all new signage placed around the old run down rigging and an advertisement sign with numerous jokes. The petrol station was called Trump Plaza. The signs were a bit too comedic and a little vulgar to repeat here. A photograph was taken and on out the road west we went.
A traffic alert sign flashed with a notice saying “Traffic to Doonbeg diverted, all traffic via Kilrush” some Garda were stationed at this intersection junction and we didn’t dare infringe.
The next turn for Doonbeg was some few miles down the road which had again, Garda stationed at the Cross roads and K. R. turned up the road their direction.
Approximately 4 Garda were at the crossroads and a van and some traffic cones.
One Garda stepped out from behind the van and waved us through. We continued on this little country back road for a few miles. Each time we passed any sort of side road or other country road there were more Garda sitting at each of them and some traffic cones in the road way. The Garda moved the cones from the road in front of us as we approached and we kept on driving.
It wasn’t the warmest of evenings either but at least we had dodged the rains and the southwest coast of Ireland was definitely alive with a smooth Atlantic air stream, rolling in across the land from the ocean.
Each time we passed a Garda post we started to notice their little overnight bags beside them and K. R. and myself had a discussion about how we should find a garage (gas station) and buy a round of fresh teas and bring them back to them. Each little Garda post had a construction type night lighting on a mini cherry picker type hoist. One such Garda post had a horse box/trailer where placed inside of it were two wooden chairs, this seemed like a flash back to the 80’s to see what may have been "HQ" for the Shergar investigations, back in full use. The good old Garda post “horsebox”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When we arrived in Doonbeg it was somewhere close to 9pm. The road we drove in on was from the southern side of the town. We first met vans aligning the roadside, the media, RTE, Virgin TV, BBC to name a few of the recognizable ones. There were not too many options for parking. We turned the corner around into the main street and found a parking spot further up the village by the church.
At the end of the town there was a barrier erected and again guarded by An Garda and this end of town seemed to be where the locals and reporters were mostly gathered. It only made sense that we walk back down through the village.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feeling a little peckish I suggested we eat in one of the three or four restaurants in the village. There was a buzz in the little country village of Doonbeg.
We entered one of the eateries and it was quite packed inside, it was a restaurant which is adjoined to a bar and had a doorway between the two. The girl had replied to me as I asked her “is it sit anywhere?” She told me how the kitchen closes and 9 pm and she will have to check. The time then was 9.10 pm. “Not good news for you” she may well have shouted at us as it had the same effect but she was very apologetic in letting us know of the kitchen being closed.
An Irish village is nothing new to us as we hail from an even smaller village ourselves. We went back into the street and it appeared to be the same with the other restaurants also, that 9 pm was shut off time for a bit of grub (food).
We walked over to the corner that seemed to have the larger crowd gathered and stood among the crowd and there really was an electric buzz not only to the evening weather but the people themselves. Everyone waiting for a Mr. Trump visit. I noticed behind me on the wall a little village library mounted to the wall and in it were a number of books. It was a little wall mounted book case with two glass doors. I said to K. R., I should place my book in it for the villagers. I explained to him how I always carry at least one copy of “TWO sons TOO many” with me if I am on any kind of road trip and so back to the pick up truck we went. I grabbed the book and signed it to the people of Doonbeg.
We Headed back through the village and among the crowd, passing the Garda at the check point barrier and I placed the book in the village library. We spoke with a journalist who seemed to be under the impression that there would be no show from the Trump family tonight and he explained how the reporters had all agreed to call it a night.
IMG-20190607-WA0001
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our main mission then became food. We drove off out of the village on another of the roads out of the village and found ourselves back on the coast road through Kilrush again.
This time we were keeping an eye out for any food establishments for something to eat. Nothing caught the eye and it had began getting dark. It had to be close to 11pm and by that stage we ended up in the larger town of Ennis where we luckily caught a place before it closed for the night.
Having the guts stuffed, a plan needed to be made for the night. I said we either do one of three things, head home, get a hotel room or head for the coast and sleep in the truck by a beach for he night. K. R. replied
"I am a Trump supporter and I want to wish
him well tomorrow as he flies out. Head
for the beach and we can grab a few hours
in the truck and get a little rest".

He said he was tired from the driving and the food and offered for me to drive. And so off we went.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He pulled up the maps app on his phone and suggested we head for the beach of Spanish point which is a coastal area of county Clare. I said that we had no business going back towards Doonbeg and to keep away from all the Garda checkpoints and the likes, best we approach the coast of Clare from the northern side rather than the southern side where we had been earlier, Kilkee, Kilrush & Doonbeg. Spanish point it was and so off we headed into the dark of night out along the back country roads of county Clare.
I was following his direction and the map from his phone which to give an idea, the roads are so small and minor in these areas that when it is on full zoom on the phone you see little white roads on the map and we followed some of these. Twisting and turning and finally being able to make out a road that looked like it just ended so that told me it must be to the beach. About 50 yards or so before the end of the road we came across another Garda post and this had probably been the fifth or sixth one we had seen that night. This one was a little different though. The Garda beckoned me to come to a halt and I rolled the window down a bit.
IMG-20190607-WA0002
May I see some I. D. he asked me. As the driver I had no problem in doing so and handed him my drivers license and he asked for K. R’s I. D. too. I thought this a little strange, as K.R. was only the passenger, he handed over the I. D. anyway.
The next thing I knew I was being asked for permission to search the vehicle. More Garda were showing up and we were standing in a lane way in what could only be described as the back arse of County Clare.
The rain was spitting down and I was surrounded by approx. 20 Garda who did not seem to know what they were going to do with us, they had no clue why we were there and were continuously asking us how we got this far.
Apparently we were at the golf course of the Donald’s Doonbeg resort hotel and golf course. As one of the detectives said, there was a 3 ring security perimeter set up and we made it to zone 3, how does that happen?
Another Garda had his leg up on a ditch while he used his knee to flip through sheets of photocopied paper and a flash light to try and figure out what they are supposed to do in this situation.
A little bit of chat was going on between myself and one of the Garda but I could tell they were all seething and somebody or all of them probably should be losing their jobs for not being able to deal with us or handle the situation properly.
What do you think?
A security perimeter for the president of the United States, a ridiculous budget of around 10 million Euro and an all the expenses and bonuses etc etc and they didn’t even know how we rambled on in to Doonbeg and into the center of a 3 ringed security zone.
To make matters worse, I had been telling one of the Garda of how I had walked up and down the main street of the village of Doonbeg & I had placed an item 9 inches by 6 inches thick in a glass case on the wall in the main street of the village and left.
Of course I was getting sick of the idea that just because they are the police force that they are going to tell me how to be or what to be so I got a little hot headed and asked them, who is in charge? I believe it went something like this,
”who is in charge here? Seems like nobody
has a clue what they are doing, more cops
and more cops keep showing up with the
same stupid questions and nobody
seems to know what to do. I reckon the
whole lot of you charge me with
something or fuck off. This is some
bullshit “.
I mean come on, it was 3 o clock in the morning by that time. I told them I don’t feel well and I needed to sit down or something I need to be asleep by this time of night. Nah they could not have given a flying fuck. All they were all worried about was from my view point at least, they needed to be making sure they are not going to lose their jobs or something.
So from An Garda to special branch (detectives) to sergeants and then came the armed response unit who again decided they would have a rip through our personal belongings. Mind you I mentioned to the Garda, I did consent to you having a search but who is this guy who just showed up? I didn’t consent to him searching the vehicle. He just replied "tell him to stop so". The other armed response guy was all "Mr T." looking & trying to do the pit bull stare down. I asked the guy turning my personal stuff out on the back seat, “are you finished yet? Maybe you can close the door”, old muscles, his partner with the stare, “we’ll tell you when we are finished”.
He was the antagonizing type alright. By that time of the morning I was beginning to think, screw how many of them there are, best I make sure and really tear the head of the little guy with the muscles as he thinks a lot of himself.
Maturity got the better of me and I just expressed my lack of admiration for his stinking attitude.
On and on it went til about 5 am, the American accent lads showed up and then we waited again for more inspectors and cops. Till finally a dog squad showed up. They needed to sniff the vehicle for bazookas is what was explained. We were asked "are we sure there is nothing by way of fire arms or explosives in the vehicle?". The dog did his thing and they left.
I would estimate about 25 to 30 members of police and special branch and who knows if the American accent guy was secret service or just a transplant in Ireland who now works for the local cops. I asked the Garda I was talking to for his name. He said it was Alan, turns out that was a lie as he had a different name as it turned out a little later. I asked another what his name was and again no comment.
We were driven to the check point closest to them by the Garda that had stopped us in the first place which was called an "official escort".
We were told that we “must be up to no good” by the Garda who seemed to be the boss of operations. Of course I was quick to correct him and explain how he shouldn't be jumping to make assumptions as there is no good, bad or indifferent here.
We were then told we would be followed by escort to the local town some 25 miles away at which time we should head back to Dublin and wait for it “to think twice about ever coming to Clare again” again this was by a Superintendent or sergeant of some kind. Couldn’t really tell as he had no interest to give us his name either.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We were operating on low fuel and we needed to stop so that we could fill up when we would come to the next local town. Due to the early hour of the morning and the very remote location we were in, we had to wait for the garage to open up for the day so we could pump some diesel.
We parked in a garage parking area and waited, all the while some special branch detectives sat also in the forecourt watching us. They were relieved of their duties by another set of Garda and these new Garda were accompanied by two more.
When 7.30 am. came and we were able to pump some diesel. We headed for the road home and spent the entire journey back wondering what on earth was the level of security about. If they would like to say it was a secure zone for the president of the United States visit, it wasn’t, as we just drove all the way in. Luckily for them we were not political or anything other than my friend is a Trump fan.
We wondered what all the big so called expensive budget was being spent on for the presidents visit to Ireland as it definitely didn’t go into any kinds of briefing or "explainer courses" for the detail that were assigned the job. To be honest the whole thing began to feel like a let down. My friend K. R. didn’t get to wave Mr. Trump off, and something a little deeper. The piss poor effort made by our very own country on making a brave and fine security line.
To show a real joke of the whole thing in Ireland. There was a much bigger effort put in to having security for the pope than the Donald.
How lame is that?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there ya have it. What are your views on the whole thing?
What d'ya reckon?”
Just one Thursday evening where myself and a friend were inside zone 3 of a security zone supposed to be set up to protect the president of the United States. Held, searched and escorted away from the golf course of Doonbeg resort, county Clare Ireland. Mr. Trump's golf resort and spa hotel.
I will post a picture or two on my Facebook page and website to accompany the story to give you an idea of or to verify the story.
Why write books & blogs, anything really?
Why write content into books and blogs or anything of short stories, poems?
Why write?
This is a question that many writers will come across in their lives, sometimes in interviews, it can be a go to question. A very good question too, as the writer would need to have a pretty good idea of why they do it in the first place, wouldn't they?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here are a few of the reasons why I write.
Part of which is because of a time in my life where I could not understand what was going on. In my head, within my emotions and all around me.
This corona virus situation and the element of how surreal it is. This is the type of position I found myself in in my own life. I needed a way in which to help convince myself of what it was that my own reality actually was. I found that reviewing my own life was something very difficult to do. I did not want to shy away from my emotional pains and in a sense, I didn't want to create anything inside of my mind that might cause me to go "clinically insane". That being said, I do not think I would have had to go very far from where I was.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then came the writing.
Writing my own memories down and the thoughts and feelings that were attached, in that instance it was a time in my life that I needed to do, exactly that.
The review period was to help me to piece together some of my life and the memories. I strongly needed to figure out what was going on, what had occurred and where will I go with it all.
The surreal nature that was occurring around me was indeed strong. I needed a way to convince myself that it was all real. I needed to write it all down to bring myself to a place where I could cry my eyes out. I needed to write it all down to bring myself to that big sigh of relief. I needed to find a corner to turn, a strand of fiber inside of myself that I needed find and to cling on to, to prevent a spiral down fall or emotional hermitage.
From all my searching for answers, from all my searching to find myself, to find a beginning and end to my pains, I found writing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My notes at that time, brought about a huge pile of notebooks and paper on my desk. I even began to develop somewhat of a passive aggressive relationship with my keyboard. I am quite certain that there are many writers who will agree with that kind of relationship with there place of where they write.
There were times that I had to stand up and walk away because I was becoming too emotional, there were other days that I sat totally blocked and no writing occurred.

The bottom line was that the more that I wrote it all out for myself to read, the more and more I felt that my own story is so unbelievable that I thought it cannot be true. I still was weak in my mind and my emotional self had been beat up pretty bad in life.
I was encouraged to compile all of my notes into a manuscript and create a book.
I was not too convinced that I had the content for a book.
I went ahead and compiled my notes into a book and this book is titled, TWO sons TOO many. It is a memoir, not just any old memoir though.

TWO sons TO many is my debut memoir.

In making an attempt to convince myself that I can rebuild myself, when I made a huge effort to bring to the world my first ever book and a very large, large piece of my life. I did it to help others too, I wanted to bring my story to the world and make an effort that my own story could help somebody, anybody; to find their own strength when they might find themselves in times of "struggle", "adversity" or any time in their lives where someone might find a need to re~calibrate their own perspective.

Why write?

To use the trials and tribulations of my own twisting and turning life and bring these, my story to others in an effort to help.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Putting books together and doing all the aspects required in making a book and getting it circulating have been a real eye opening curve in my own writing career. To think it is all roses in the garden, so to speak. It is not, however it has become what I do now and I have enjoyed some major satisfactions in my short writing career.
Meeting some wonderful people, both in personal and through online platforms has been a massive great lift to my writing.
I would like to tell you something encouraging to anyone who is in the position of writing their own first book right now.
Keep writing & I will tell you why.
Imagine this for a moment, please, seriously I would like you to imagine this. One day you will speak with an absolute stranger who will have read your book and they will be very happy to discuss your book with you. A stranger will give you a review of your work and you will become overjoyed that another human being recognizes your efforts in writing and that someone wishes to discuss with you all about your own book.
This my writing friends is an absolutely beautiful feeling to have in your writing life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have written only 4 books to date so far, I have done oh so much more than just write books since.
I have created a website to showcase my writing, I write this blog right here to bring about a snippet in to my why and how I have continued to write to offer my own experience and expertise in areas of life to offer "help" / "assistance" to others out there who may be in a not so good place right now. I have stumbled upon a magnificent cycle in life and I would like to have you consider this right now for a second. The cycle that I have found myself in is a virtuous cycle. What is this? The cycle is how I have received some tremendous, heartfelt response and reviews of my writing and my books. When a random stranger tells to you that they have gained great inspiration from one of your books, this is very inspiring to me/you, the writer.
The virtuous cycle continues and to be inspired by reader's inspired feelings is a beautiful cycle to be involved in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are the names of the 4 books I have written to date, give them a try. I would love to hear your feedback. Don't wait until the movie comes out. Know the book first, ha ha.
Corona Virus, political disappointments.
We all have our favourite politicians, well actually there are some of us that are just annoyed by them all.
Do you have a special political person that you actually enjoy when they speak, thoroughly believe they value what they say themselves and that they believe in their passions?
Do they even have passion themselves?
Who would you like to see in your country's political office?
Like for real tho?
The corona virus and the pandemic has given us all a little bit more exposure to our politicians and their daily updates and "briefing" on updating us of the horrific numbers of new cases, deaths and nothing much else new really.
Sure any clown can go on the internet and read about the numbers of cases.
Our politicians are "supposed" to come out and tell us of how or what the plan is to bring this thing to an end.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

America for example.
I really would have expected a little more humility in the chief to address the people of the nation. I definitely would have thought that blatantly discussing the current number of deaths as collateral damage, "we are not doing so bad with only 40 k dead" "we are below the total that could have died. We are doing good".
The people who have died from this corona virus deserve a tiny little bit more respect than this.

The stock market fluctuation is of little concern to a nation of worried people trying to stay at home and wait to get the all clear. People do not want to die, the stocks and shares mean nothing when dead.

The center for disease control has warned that they feel that the corona virus could be much worse in the autumn as it would bring about a 2nd wave of infections right at the same time when it is flu season. This could then in turn bring about the horrible situation of having all the infrastructure of the hospitals and medical staff get hit with a double burden upon resources.

Americans need to stay at home and the protests and people who are definitely NOT observing social distancing could probably do with some sort of severe penalty. Freedom is one thing, playing with peoples lives is a completely different issue.
The locals of one parish or county or another are not playing with just their own lives. All who act irresponsibly at this moment in time in the world are responsible in part for every other human on the planet.
Citizens of the untied states acting selfishly are doing so at the peril of the entire world.
The entire world is having lock downs and shut downs in a combined effort to rid their respective countries of the virus. Should the united states continue their irresponsible behaviors in respect to the virus, we the remainder of the world perhaps should get the law suit ready for flu season.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allow me to move back to the far side of the Atlantic ocean and take a look at the Irish effort during the pandemic.
Ireland is a tiny country by comparison to any other on the world stage.
So small that being an island, one would imagine that remaining disease free, "shoulda, coulda, woulda" remain free from being infected by the corona virus.
Being an island gave the country a great head start on the virus. The news out of China was coming through the media outlets in and around the end of January 2020.
* Did the island nation take the initiative?
* Did the island nation brace themselves and
create quarantine measure to use the
position as being an island as the greatest
barrier to create immunity?
* Did the political body take matters serious
and secure the people?
The answers to the above are obviously, NO.
Not only did the political body not take the necessary action, they sat around and waited. They waited and the airports were never so busy in Ireland at the time of rapid spread through Europe. Cheltenham horse racing was an event in England that saw a massive movement of people from Ireland to England and then back again. The crowds at the sporting event up to 100 k people per day over a five day event.
The panic and confusion did not stop at not only the lack of serious response to protecting the island from the oncoming pandemic. The planes continued even into and during a lock down status, where immigrant farm workers were transported from a foreign country and rushed through the airport to come and pick seasonal fruit. No quarantine or testing.
The panic of how the country would financially survive brought about further disarray to the nation of Ireland.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The United Kingdom again another island nation who were very complacent about the disease and the oncoming pandemic. The senior being the prime minister. He even caught the virus and had to be carted off to hospital for ventilating and special care. The English took such a complacent attitude to the virus that not only were given enough time by the rest of the world and ignored it. The prime minister and the royal family got infected with the virus. How many figure heads do they need to identify a serious threat or issue from the virus?

The main man from the SKY Q box was even all over the internet in the early days warning people of the virus.
How much notification does a nation actually need?
Slow to shut down, slow to take social distancing serious and the proof is in the eating.
The numbers are a disgrace, where again we see horrific numbers of dead people on a daily basis.
Although the numbers are not accurate to be followed "they say" as just like in Ireland the actual numbers are a little distorted. The death rates and case confirmed are numbers that are all being confused. This only means that the fantastic jingle that was being used in the beginning becomes null and void "flattening the curve".
The curve is merely man made.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
France, Italy, Spain.
Spain ignored the lock down orders from the government as a way to be "trendy" & protest. The result has been a rapid rise in cases and resulting in unfortunately a terribly high number of deaths in their country.
Italy, again ignoring the requests of the government and carrying on their daily lives with an attitude of "it is only a flu, we are used to this at this time of year" especially in the northern regions of the country. Again and unfortunately and absolutely horrible high number of deaths.
France, here again a country in mainland Europe where the general public do not follow any orders of their government as a way of life.
The result of this can been seen by the high death rate from the virus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am in no way suggesting we listen to the government in every aspect of life or any "rules " they wish to dictate to the public. There are times though that the money being spent on medical advisors and the direct lines that a government office has with other countries officials mean that they inform us of guidelines during such a pandemic because they are all drawing and learning from what is going on in other regions of the world. For this reason we look to the politicians to advise us correctly & to guide us on the most learned information currently available.

It is saddening and a little disturbing that political bodies the world over cannot get it right on the issue of COVID 19.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During this time, it is important to safe guard yourself as much as you can. It is important that you take from your political advisors only a snippet from all available broadcasts and form your own opinion.
What is highly important is that you make a mental note of how your politicians have handled this pandemic. You keep the mental note with you and when it is the right time you exercise that opinion by the way in which you will vote.
Your voting voice is your voice in this dog fight.
When the time comes, you must express your satisfaction or disappointment in your elected political figures.
Many of us will find faults to the nth degree. It is important to make a mental note of the pieces that you have been most satisfied with also.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have written a book about taking a journey to self. A guide book on finding some levels of calm within our own minds and body's.
I had no idea that such lock down situations were going to arise.
Being that many of us had been so busy in life that we never found the time for SELF.
Now that the time has arisen where it is possible to have a little more time to yourself due to the shut down of the pandemic.
Using this time to bring about a little inner peace is a very valuable investment we can make in ourselves.
Clarity can help you see through any political lies or "spin".
Clarity can bring about a great contentment in your life.

Where are ya going on your holidays this year?

Holidays from the virus, more than likely.
It is a fair thing to consider though. Will you do a little holiday somewhere local to you?
Will you share and try and help your local community rebuild "post corona"?

It almost seems at the moment that just going out to a local restaurant could carry the magic of a holiday. At this stage in lock down, can we ever dream to have a nice weekend away somewhere?
Something nice, a Friday arrive and do the two nights with bed, breakfast and an evening meal all included?
Sounds like a little bit of heaven right now doesn't it?
Throw in a spa treatment for the Saturday afternoon relaxation, oh boy oh boy, now we are talking some serious day dreaming alright.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here in Ireland most recently, we have been enjoying the most beautiful weather pattern. All through the lock down we have been having sunny skies, onshore breezes and temperatures ranging from 12 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees. This is not our typical weather here in Ireland though. We normally receive a lot more rainfall and colder, more windy weather usually.
Has the slowdown of the world brought about a nicer weather pattern for us? who really knows. The struggling issue during the lock down is that; the restrictions upon the communities, that we are not be able to go out and enjoy these beautiful weather days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The thoughts of holidays though, this is a real beauty that we can get lost in, just to allow our imagination run away from us. Will you go somewhere you have never been before?
Will you just be so happy to be out and about doing stuff and not care where exactly you go on holiday, just as long as you go somewhere?

There is no doubt in my own mind that the feeling of checking in and upon reaching your room for the evening, the feeling of falling onto the bed when you get to your room is a great feeling.
Here I must admit, I have been fortunate enough to live my entire life as a holiday in one form or another. Definitely into my adult years for sure. I can debate however, that it has been all well deserved though.

I have never minded a layover in an airport as I have always been happy to sit back and people watch. Even though airports always tend to be a little bit more expensive, I never worried about having an hour or two extra inside of an airport, where I could take a meal and just relax, watching the world scurry past.
I definitely had a few times where I was running to catch flights too, please don't get me wrong & I missed a few here and there along the way too.
I guess having family and friends in Ireland and living and working in the US & central America probably brought about a majority of my travel though.

I have always liked the feeling attached to checking in at the airport and knowing I was embarking on a trip somewhere. Nice feeling, when you clear the security lines and you just are waiting around for the departure gate to be announced. There is a little buzz attached when you find yourself flying to a holiday destination with a bunch of other holiday makers. Everyone in the waiting area of the departures lounge is all on the same exciting type of feel good buzz.
Post Covid19 I do believe, we will all get back to traveling and enjoying our holidays again.
We will be able to feel the beauty in landing our head on the hotel room pillows, once again.
We will take to the skies again and we will all have many travels left on our bucket lists. Don't worry, we will get there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We may have to wait a little while longer to get back to it all though. For now we can think and maybe even plan where we might go next?
Maybe it will be a good idea to focus on helping our economy by venturing not too far away at first. A local restaurant could really use the business and a few of our closer to home hotels will definitely need a little lift when all this passes over.
It is nice to have little daydreams during these times too.
I will be totally honest and also admit, I would give a lot right now for a relaxing massage and mud bath. How far will I have to fly for this, when lock down ends?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Some more of my travels and adventures are covered in detail inside of my memoir TWO sons TOO many. You can find links to this around the internet or on my website. The link is in the picture, just click on the book picture.

I also have detailed out many of my relaxation remedies in my most recent book, Layman's Handbook, this is also a nonfiction book which you can find in paperback and e~book too. Again simply click on the book picture for the link.

Enjoy the lock down and there is nothing wrong with a little day dream here and there, to help keep the mind content.

Grief, Death & Grieving life. (corona times)

A tough subject, that is for sure. I guess it is worth bringing to the fore though. What is it that you know about or wish to hear about grief?
Part of the grieving process is all about finding articles just like this one here to look to, to find some answers or make some sense of what exactly is going on?
Losing someone at any time in life is a terrible thing and a time where the earth, the world turns into some sort of surreal place with a distorted shape to absolutely everything.

***************

We think that every time someone dies that it is all doom and gloom and because so many people shed tears and cry that it is the most devastating thing to ever happen. Yes losing someone is hurtful and can bring about emotions. There are times that losing an elder relative might just be a relief on the family. It could bring some financial relief as they no longer have to pay the high fees of a nursing home.
There could be relief on the person in the family who has been doing all the caring for the person. Yes caring can mean feeding and bathing and lifting and cleaning. The relief can be to no longer have to care for a loved one while there are so incapacitated.
There can be relief to a family as they no longer wish to see their loved one suffer any kind of pain or going through any kind of severe illness.

***************

We all grieve in different ways, why is that?
What is it that makes grief a little bit torturous for some of us?

The fact that we grieve different can be put down to the simple idea of how we all love a little differently. Our relationship with the person while they were alive is different for everybody and so "they say" sometimes that our grief is a love that we had for someone and now that they are no longer with us, we grief for them. We still have the love for them and now that they are not there for us to express this love or they are no longer with us for us to be able to give our love a place or a person to go to, we "grieve for them" instead of just "love them".
Grief can be loved turned inside out. The love still exists, we just have to find a way in which to channel it or direct it somewhere. We have been left with nowhere to direct our love for that person anymore.

***************

Making use of our time in finding ANSWERS, this can be a direction to channel our love. When we lose someone in some sort of sudden tragic event, it is very possible that we want answers. We want to know what happened? We want to know what we may have done differently to ever have prevented their death?
We want to know why we did not see this coming?
These are normal questions that we can ask ourselves after somebody close to us dies. They are normal questions to ask in a time of grief.

I have found that during my time grieving, that it has been when i began to STOP looking for answers that the answers came to me. Just like when we are searching for our keys. We can get frantic over the fact we have lost our keys. We search and search and search to a point of anxiety attack, when we find them we forget to breathe deeply and begin again on a more relaxed footing.
In grief we do not find the answers just as easy as we may find our keys, we do not get to go to a relaxed place real easy and just shrug off what it is that is tormenting our brains and causing our emotions to turn like the washing machine in the fast cycle.

I have found that understanding my own emotions has been of great benefit to my own grieving process. The facts that my loved ones are not coming back is a very harsh reality for any of us to deal with ever. This simple little reminder can be enough to break us down on any given day. We do not want to remember this hard fact yet we do not want to ever give up thinking about them. friends will advise you to move and grow out of it. These such friends will only ever understand it, the day they lose a piece of themselves just like we have.

***************

* Can we turn the feelings of sadness into
some form of motivation?

* Can we turn the breathless anxiety attack
into a peaceful calm smile?

* Can we begin to live a life of contentment
after a death?

* Can we ever live again the same?

These are all things we can achieve in our time of grief. It is a journey, a process and it is most definitely different for everybody.
One key piece of advice I have received and would give to anybody who is faced with life after the death of a loved one, "it is a process and you can not rush it, relax as often as possible and check in with your emotions and your mind. Do not allow them run away with you".

Now that the numbers of deaths due to corona virus are a daily updated thing & if you have lost someone due to this virus, please know that there are many of us out here who grieve everyday for our loved ones too. I know it is not much of a consolation, though it is important to know you are never alone in your grief.
Every person deserves respect whether they are alive or dead, sometimes it is nice to extend a little extra respect to those who have died. They deserve this too.

I have written a few books while I have been on my own journey with grief.
I am very proud of the project and career that my grief has turned in to.
My first ever book TWO sons TOO many, this book is a detailed view of how I came to be where I am today.
My 4th book Layman's Handbook, this book has been a layout of where and how I found different strengths to live on during my grief and after such traumas in my own life. I used my experiences to share with others, to save them the agony part and share some simple tools to gain a state of relaxed and content in our minds and our emotions.

I feel for your loss.
Stay strong.

10 simple steps to breathe, just B ~ R ~ E ~ A ~ T ~ H ~ E

The universe is letting us all know the importance of our breathing.
Have you ever seen such a time before?
People are struggling to breathe due to a pandemic of the corona virus. Is it teaching us anything?
What can you take from this valuable lesson right now?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While you sit in isolation, practice social distancing and maybe even you are in one of the vulnerable categories and it is vitally important that you practice cocooning. You may just be smart enough to recognize that staying at home "saves lives".
For years you have heard of things like "meditation" & "yoga", you have never really paid too much attention to them though.
You may have even said to yourself , "nah that auld stuff is not for me".
Maybe you have heard of these things and thought to yourself, "I would look a right eejit doing that stuff".
Another could be, "That concentrating and focus stuff just does my head in".
or
"I cannot learn this stuff, makes no sense to me".
How about if I were to let you in on a little secret, there is no secret. Imagine that, no big secret, they have this thing in common.
You focus your mind on your own body and your own person.
You practice breathing and as you inhale on the first 5 to 10 breaths, you are letting yourself know that you exist.
That is about all there is to it and you can just repeat a few times over.
As you exhale, you rid yourself of any bitterness or aches and pains. Any headaches you may feel, any ugly stuff in your emotional self, each time you breathe out you allow them to leave your body.
And there you have it, to do some yoga, you can then apply the stretching and movements of yoga to combine them with your breathing. bringing the movement of your muscles and the movement of your lungs together as one will bring about some great clear focus within your mind.
Having a clear mind will allow you to feel a little more and in an all around be a massive benefit to yourself, a major chance to begin to feel better, content and wait for it...... Yes even, happy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Right now there are medical staff and ventilator machines in high demand. Why? to help people breathe. The corona virus is taking away the ability to breathe for some people around the world.

The universe is making an attempt to remind us of the importance of breathing. Our breathe is actually the fundamental thing that keeps us alive. We may have taken this for granted, maybe just a little bit?
There is nothing major to understand or become aware of when attempting to meditate. Again, breathing, our single most important piece of life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's try.
In a quite place in your home, find a seat and sit still, listening to nothing. let's focus on our breath.
1. Breathe in a nice smooth deep breath.
(As we breathe in we are going to take in new air to our lungs, bringing new life, new energy, new air to our blood cells to help our body live).
2. We exhale the same, a nice smooth exhale.
(while we exhale we are going to take all of our thoughts and let them slow down and flow out from of our mind).
3. Breathe in again, a nice long slow smooth breath.
(We imagine how the air coming in is travelling all around our body. We can feel the new air right at our nostrils. Feeling how refreshing it is).
4. We exhale again just the same.
(As we exhale we take any aches and pains from our body and we allow them leave as the air leaves out from our bodies).
5. Inhale again, again a nice smooth breath.
(We feel the air at our nose and mouth and we can bring in the new life that the universe is giving to us each and every day, we bring in new fuel to survive. We bring in new taste and new appetite).
6. We exhale and feel the heat from our breathe. (We exhale all of the nasty stuff from inside of our body and of our aura. We leave the negative thoughts to escape and we wish them well on their way out from us).
7. As we breathe in now we are beginning to bring about a PAUSE to our life. (A slow down is occurring in our life, our world and our mind is slowly becoming clear).
8. We inhale new life again. (We can begin to feel and taste the new breath, the new life is filling our lungs and it tastes so fresh. We can begin to feel the energy).
9. We exhale an even breath and allow bitterness flow from out from our gut, we allow our taste to rid our body of any nasty tastes. (Our exhale can begin to become long and smooth as we feel the bitterness come from the bottom of our gut)
10. We take in a long breath and can now hear how our breath is working through our nose and our airways right into our lungs. (This new air tastes good, feels good and is providing some happy feelings to occur. This feels good, I like it).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ten little steps to practice and some of the things to say to yourself as you do the breathing exercise as a way to slowly introduce yourself into a small world of meditation.

You can of course repeat steps 1 thru 10 as often as you wish. Probably a 30 minute session could be a maximum on it to begin with. You can do a little less to start off with either, remember there are no absolute right or wrong ways. As you go into some meditation, you can use your inhale to tense up some muscle groups one at a time. As you exhale you can release the tensed up muscle and this way you can have A. your lungs, B. your muscles, C. your emotions & D. your mind all working together in a harmony. This harmony will allow some emotions to flow through you and your mind to become calm and paused.

USE THIS PAUSE TIME YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN

The universe is reminding us all right now to bring about a calm to our lives.
The universe is reminding us all right now how important our breathing is to LIFE.
The universe will not guide you wrongly, use the time and make the most out of it by practicing your BREATHING.
Remember this virus is making it very difficult for over 2 million people right now to "just breathe", that they are having a hard time breathing. You are one of the lucky ones and are being given this great opportunity.

FOCUS on your breathing.

You can read all about these such things and a beginners guide to meditation and why it is so important to use tools to help calm our mind in my most recent book,

Layman's Handbook, in life.
