Daniel MacKillican is a British writer, poet (this is debatable but he thinks it’s poetry), and author of the horror novel Ama. He came into this world on the fifteenth day of September, 1973. It was a sunny morning in Bathavon, where he opened his eyes for the first time, and the clouds were few and far between.

After four and a bit decades since that day, and apart from the odd blip here and there, he’s of the opinion that life is quite an interesting adventure and found that his grey matter is spun into motion by a wide variety of things–if you spend some time perusing his website, you will soon become aware of just how eclectic Daniel’s interests are.

Before writing full-time he had a pretty diverse career, which was far too dull to refer

My name, as you might have guessed, is Daniel MacKillican, and I’m a British indie author. As well as being creative in this reality, I also enjoy experiencing hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations and travelling into the realm of fantastical dreams which, sometimes, I manage to control with God-like powers. Intrigued? Then take a wander around my website and enjoy.

"Dark and gruesome and exquisitely written. Just like you like it. This book is like Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, and Dante had a baby. And the audiobook received a very entertaining performance from the actor that really turned it up to 11 on the di..." Read more of this review »

“Some people just can’t grasp how powerless they are. I like the spirited ones. Most of the time you hateful creatures throw yourselves into submission—weak-minded and feeble. Breaking the broken is no fun at all.”
Daniel MacKillican, Ama

“Lilith’s smile widened, as she scoffed, “Civilised beings? Millennia come and gone, and the only conclusion I can come to is that your kind should have stayed in the trees.”
Daniel MacKillican, Ama

“Creepy keeps creeping across the cold cobbles. Watch how he creeps and be sure he hasn’t crept up on you.”
