Flash Fiction Time! I know you love it! Prompt: Who knew tears could burn?
Hi guys! My flash is a bit short this week cuz I have been super busy and stuff. Please don’t hate me! Here is your weekly dose of whatever the heck pours from my deranged mind! I hope you enjoy it! Couldn’t resist adding this bad boy here in honor of Luke![image error]
Who knew tears could burn? He asked himself a thousand times as he carried her sleeping body across the house. He was lucky that he had super human reflexes or she would have ended up on the ground. Her tears burned like fire searing his skin. He hated that he made her cry. He hated the disbelief in her eyes as she looked at him. The doubt he saw there nearly killed him. His wolf was in his mind howling his rage and Luke pulled her tighter against him. Even though her tears burned him straight to his tortured soul.
If she was scared of him now, what would she think about him after finding out the things he had done for the safety of his pack? Would she ever be able to love him? Would she ever forgive him for his trickery? It was all to protect her, but she didn’t know that. She didn’t know anything about him.
He was expecting her to love him and trust him, but she couldn’t do that until she got to know him. The bond wouldn’t do everything for him. He brushed a stray lock of hair from her face and gently laid her on the bed. Turning to leave he felt a small hand grab his wrist and looked back at her.
Her eyes were filled with those damned boiling tears but they were filled with relief as well.
“You are still here,” she whispered with a soft smile gracing her beautiful plump kissable lips. He looked at her in confusion but sat next to her on the bed. Her flesh was burning the skin of his wrist and he realized that her tears weren’t the only thing that burned.
“I’m not going anywhere.”

Author Spotlight Alex R. Carver
So sorry! I got a late start this week. The author spotlights are a bit out of whack, but here is my interview with Alex R. Carver the author of the Inspector Stone Series!
Thank you for this interview! I’d like to know more about you as a person first. What do you do when you’re not writing?
I like to play games on my computer and puzzles from the paper, that’s how I spend most of my spare time, but I used to be a golfer, and would like to take it up again.
When did you start writing?
The first time I wrote anything was when I was ten, it was a creative writing assignment for English class, I wrote a children’s adventure story that was reminiscent of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series; I’ve been writing off and on ever since.
As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?
Amazon’s introduction of the KDP platform, hands down. When KDP was established it gave an avenue for authors like me, who either couldn’t or wouldn’t publish through the established publishing houses, to get their books into the hands of the reading public.
If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?
I would love to go back to Egypt and write there, I’ve been in a boat that went past the hotel where Agatha Christie wrote Death On The Nile; it would be wonderful to take the same room and write a book where she did.
If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?
Sleep, I have difficulty sleeping and often only get 4 or 5 hours, if there was an extra 4 hours in the day I could get a solid 6 to 8 hours, who knows what I could accomplish then.
Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?
Just as I’d like to go back to Egypt to write a book there, I’d like to set a book in Egypt, perhaps even an historical story to take advantage of my love of mythology.
Back to your present book, Where There’s A Will, how did you publish it?
After many hours of hard work I released the 1st book in my Inspector Stone series through KDP, I chose to make it exclusive for the time being to take advantage of the marketing opportunities through Select, and I also published my paperback through Createspace.
In writing your book, did you travel anywhere for research?
Fortunately, I didn’t have to travel anywhere, I was able to do all of my research online. I say fortunately, but it might have been nice to have to go somewhere to do some research.
Why was writing Where There’s A Will so important to you?
The idea got into my head and wouldn’t leave me alone, the same as all my stories; the only way to get it out of my head was to sit down and write it. Of course, once I did that, another story took its place and insisted on being written.
Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?
I don’t think I have anywhere that produces my best ideas, they come at me from all directions, and at all times of the day and night.
What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.
I have a serial killer thriller, Written In Blood, currently available for pre-order, the official release date is April 1st, it’s about a small English village being terrorised by a series of rapes and murders – it’s not for the easily upset, though I have shied away from depicting any of the actual murders, they occur off-screen, so to speak.
These are the super fun get to know the author questions. This? or That?
Q: Winter or Summer?
Summer
Q: Salad or Soup?
Soup
Q: Bath or Shower?
Shower
Q: Coffee or Soda?
Coffee
Q: Receive Chocolate or Flowers for a gift?

Coffee With Characters with Tessa Micah Bell
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself! Tell us who you are and what you do! Are you the main character in the story or a supporting role? What do you do for a living? How old are you?
Hi, I’m Tessa Micah Bell. I come from a messed up family that set me on the road to a messed up childhood and adolescence, so in adulthood I’m kind of messed up. When you meet me in my first book, A Secret to the Grave, I’m twenty-five and I meet the man who I end up marrying. Unfortunately we’re both kind of messed up so by the time our story ends two and a half years later in Forgotten we have really managed to make a mess of our lives. Sorry if my answers are a little short, I don’t really like talking about myself so I don’t know why Jane signed me up for this thing.
1. Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?
A Secret to the Grave is about one of the many mistakes that I’ve made in the past that got other people hurt. I try to fix things on my own and for some reason people seem to think that’s not a good idea. I don’t know why, I’m perfectly capable of taking care of my own messes. I did get to meet Parker though, so one good thing came out of that book. The rest of our books are about us trying to make our lives work. I’m stubborn, keep secrets, and don’t want anyone to take care of me, and Parker has white knight syndrome, so sometimes our relationship gets kind of crazy.
2. Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?
*shrugs uncomfortably* My eyes I guess. People seem to like them. They’re kind of blue and kind of green with some specs of yellow in the middle. And my hair because its naturally white blonde and a huge curly mess. Although its not a physical feature the thing most people would probably say is the most distinguishable thing about me is my IQ is 178.
3. Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?
No, I don’t have either.
4. Would you ever want to go hang out with your author? If so, what would you do together?
We might hang out, I guess. I don’t really have a lot of friends because I tend to wind up getting people hurt, but if we did hang out we would go horse riding, I love to ride, and Jane does too, so that could be fun.
5. If you could have a super power what would it be, and why?
The ability to see the future, because then I could see what bad things are going to happen to people and stop them before they happen.
6. What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?
When they think they know better than me about what’s best for me.
7. What would I love the most about you?
I am very loyal to the people I love and would do anything for them, including risk my life.
8. What would I hate the most about you?
I’m stubborn, I actually don’t think this is a bad thing, but apparently everyone else does. I can be bossy. I’m a bit of a control freak. I value my privacy so sometimes I keep secrets. I like people to think I’m strong so I’m constant telling people that I’m fine even when we both know it’s a lie, I’ve been told that’s annoying. I don’t like to let people know what is going on inside my head which I know can be annoying but I’ve been hurt and let down a lot so its hard for me to trust people, so I prefer to do things myself. I don’t know why I told you that, so lets just keep it between us, okay?
9. Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
Well she kind of portrayed my stubbornness as a bad thing, and really I don’t think I’m as crazy stubborn as she made me out to be, I just like to do things my way because my way is usually best.
10. What is your idea of a perfect day?
Being able to relax and not worry about anything at all. Parker and I would go horse riding up on my estate and then maybe have a picnic, and just enjoy hanging out and being together.
11. What is your greatest fear?
Being alone.
12. Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?
Before Parker I didn’t date. Ever. So that kind of freaks me out.
13. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Happy. Wait that’s kind of a depressing answer, well when I was really young I wanted to do a million things, ride horses, be a doctor, a sculptor, an artist, an inventor, an astronaut, and a hot air balloon pilot.
14. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
I’ve faced death before and the one thing I wished I had done was tell the people I love just how much I love them and how important they are to me.
15. What is the one food you can’t live without?
Lasagne, its not my favorite food but it is Parker’s and he loves it when I make it for him.
16. If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?
Uh . . . umm . . . hmm . . . is it wrong if I said I hoped no one ever turned my book into a movie? Because that would be way embarrassing.

Flash Fiction Time! Stay
It had been a horrible day. Aurora had run into Mason. Well actually, she wasn’t certain it was an accident. One minute she was leaving the hospital and the next he was in front of her, blocking her path. She had tried to walk around him but he had grabbed her arm in a vice like grip. It wasn’t until she winced that he loosened his hold.
“What do you want, Mason?”
“I want to talk. I’m sorry I freaked out. If you would just get rid of that wo- dog then we could be together.”
“I’m not discussing this again. I’m not getting rid of Luke,” she exclaimed and walked around him.
“You’ll be sorry you ever let that mangy mutt into your house. Mark my words,” he had growled and stormed off.
She fought back a chill remembering his words and the venom in his voice as he spit them at her. Unlocking the front door, she slipped inside exhausted by the events of the day. The house was eerily quiet and she went on a search for Luke.
Walking into the kitchen she stifled a scream and her breathing became erratic. The man standing at the counter in nothing but a pair of low cut jeans was something to behold. What was a man doing rifling through her refrigerator? She had no idea but she knew it wasn’t right. She attempted to back out of the room slowly and backed into the counter. She wasn’t able to stop the small whimper from leaving her throat. The man turned and the look he gave her was akin to shock. It morphed quickly into guilt. She wasn’t paying much attention to that though. All she could see was the exceptionally bizarre color of his eyes. She had seen those eyes before, but her mind couldn’t or wouldn’t process how the man standing in her kitchen had the exact same eyes as Luke.
She attempted to back out of the kitchen slowly. Is this a dream? Did I fall and whack my head on something? No this is absolutely real.
“No, stay,” he pleaded.
She couldn’t explain why she stayed. His honey voice spoke right to her soul and she was physically unable to move away from the impossibly sexy man.
“I can explain everything,” he said moving closer.
That simple movement brought her out of shock and she moved away. Looking around wildly for a weapon, she readied herself to make a grab for the knives she kept on the counter.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” She was thankful her voice was firm and strong.
“You know who I am,” he said with confidence.
She shook her head back and forth. There was no way it could be who she thought. Luke was a dog, damnit. He couldn’t be the sexy man standing in front of her.
Ok, stop checking out his amazing abs and make a run for it.
She ran to the stove and pulled out a huge butcher knife holding it out in front of her with both hands. She had no idea what the proper way to brandish a knife was but that didn’t matter. Like put his hands in the air and took a hesitant step forward.
“Don’t,” she shrieked. “Don’t come near me. Get out of my house.”
She was shaking. She knew he could see it but she hoped he didn’t know how scared she was.
“It’s okay, I’m not here to hurt you. Please just put the knife down so I can explain,” he said as if speaking to a frightened animal. She relaxed marginally and he stepped closer.
Instinct took over and she slashed at him. She heard the knife tear through the flesh of his shoulder and blood spattered across her face. She whimpered her eyes closed tight so she wouldn’t have to see what she had done.
He scooped her up and took the knife from her hands. That alone confused her. She looked at his shoulder where the knife wound was already closing. Looking into his eyes, a final thought passed through her head before everything faded to black.
Oh my god. He really is Luke.

Blog Tour and Character Interview
For this interview, I let Trey have the floor! He did this amazing Interview with Flitt from Missy Sheldrake’s New novel! It’s gonna be awesome!
Hey all! My name is Trey and Ember asked me to do this interview for her. I don’t know why probably because I am the sexiest, funniest guy at GTT security. *winks*
And my name is Felicity Lumine Instacia Tenacity Teeming. You can call me Flitt. I’m a Traveler fairy. That means I’m allowed to leave Kythshire on very important business that’s too secret to tell you about, so don’t ask me for details. As a matter of fact, I probably shouldn’t have mentioned Kythshire at all. Forget I said that. I’m a fairy, that’s all you need to know. Am I the main character or a supporting role? What kind of question is that? It’s a bit rude, but, well, you’re human, so you can’t help it. I’m a friend of Azi’s. She’s a squire in His Majesty’s Elite, which apparently is a big deal. One day, she’ll be a Knight. She’ll be better than a Knight. I don’t know that for sure. Well, maybe I do, but I wouldn’t tell you. Anyway, I imagine she’d be considered the main character, but I’d say I’m probably the most important one.
Now, if we’re going to do this right, it’s my turn to ask a question. That’s the fairy way. The question game. You ask a question and I answer, and I ask a question and you answer. Then me, then you, then me. Got it? That counts as my question, by the way.
Sure baby doll let’s play this game!
What’s your story?
Well, I’m not a doll. I’m a fairy. My story is pretty long. I think if someone was to write the whole thing out, it’d probably be at least five books long. I’m not a fan of books. They’re made of dead trees and burnt up stuff ground into ink, and they remind me of stinky Mages. We don’t like Mages in Kythshire. They get greedy, and they drain our Source. We’ve kept that Source a secret for over a century now, but lately there have been some disturbances at our borders. Sorcerers are trying to get in and steal the magic from our Source and claim our land. We’ve got really strong guardians and protections to keep them out, but these Sorcerers are very powerful and pretty scary, so we finally had to ask an old friend for help. But that’s back to the secret business, so that’s all I’m going to say. Baby doll?
Haha! It’s a human term of endearment. I call everyone by nicknames and pet names. *laughs*
You look good and that hair is…wow! What is your most memorable…asset? *winks and shoots a flirty smile*
[image error]
Well, *giggles* I guess I agree with you. My best feature is my hair. It’s rainbow colored, which is my favorite color. I keep each color in its own ponytail, so it behaves. But it still likes to float around looking pretty. My wings are impressive, too. The light from my skin—I’m a Light fairy, you see–flashes on them and makes everything around me rainbow, too. As fairies go, I’m one of the prettiest ones. You’re pretty okay, too, as humans go. You are human, right?
Oh yes, darlin’! I am 100% Virile human male. If you know what I mean. *chuckles*
Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?
NO! Of course not! What an insulting question. Birthmarks? Do you mean Mage Mark? Do you have any? Let me see your chest.
If you wanted to get me naked darlin’ all you had to do was ask! *starts to unbutton shirt*
Would you ever want to go hang out with your author? If so, what would you do together?
Careful, that’s two questions. I’ll let it slide, just this once. Because you’re cute. Hmm. I imagine an author would stink just like a Mage. Like books and ink and things indoors. I expect she’d be all squinty and serious. I don’t think I’d like to hang out with her. She’d probably spend most of her time asking me boring questions, like these. Hey, hey, hey! I didn’t mean it that way! I get it, no Mage Mark! Stop unbuttoning your shirt, what’s the matter with you?
So many things.. *chuckles* *whispers seductively* But there are so many things right too, babe. *winks*
If you could have a super power what would it be, and why?
Okay, now you’re just getting creepy. Simmer down, loverboy. To answer your question, I do have one. I can make light, and I can heal people. Don’t tell anyone, though. If people knew, they’d pester me to do it all the time. Want a sugar cube? *pulls a lint-covered sugar cube from her tiny belt pouch*
Sure! *grins and tosses sugar cube in mouth crunching loudly* Sweet!
What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?
People think because I’m a tiny fairy, that I’m cute and sweet. I am cute, and I’m sweet, but I’m equal. I’m not dumb. I’m probably smarter than you. And just because I’m small doesn’t mean I’m less important. Oh, and also, I don’t like when people chew with their mouth open. *glares* What’s your favorite color?
Green, but rainbow is looking pretty good right now! *smirks*
What would I love the most about you?
Yeah, rainbow’s really the best. I’m so pretty! And I’m a loyal friend. If you’re nice, and you stick with me and do what I say, I’m probably the best friend you’ll ever have. As long as you’re not creepy about it. Actually, you remind me of someone I know. His name’s Eron. He’s a prince. I call him Prince Creepy. Know why?
Because you can’t handle a little flirting?
OOOOH! You answered a question with a question! I WIN! Just kidding. You can’t answer a question with a question, though. But we can keep going. Just don’t do it again, okay?
Whatever you say, darlin.
What would I hate the most about you?
I can’t think of anything. Sometimes I’m too bright, I guess. That seems to annoy Azi. It’s kind of an annoying question. Rude. What would I hate most about you?
Don’t blame me! These are the questions Ember told me to ask. *chuckles* I think you already know what you hate most about me. *smirks*
Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
There you go talking about the author again. I don’t know. I don’t read. She’s stinky and boring, so I don’t really care how she portrayed me. Who’s Ember?
Ember’s my author. I torment her daily trying to get more time in my story, but she just HAD to put Twitch and Mac’s books before mine! *huffs in frustration.*
What is your idea of a perfect day?
You’re weird. I’d wake up at home in my mossy grotto with the windchimes ringing in the trees, and feed my beautiful fish in the pond, and then go to the Ring for dancing—WAIT A MINUTE! This is a trick question! You’re trying to get me to tell you about Kythshire, aren’t you? What a nasty thing to do. Typical human. So typical.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Time out, darlin! No one is trying to get you to reveal any secrets. Jesus! You’re wound like a freakin’ top!
What is your greatest fear?
Okay, as long as you promise. Because I’m not telling you anything about that. Everyone knows my greatest fear is Sorcerers: Wicked, selfish Mages who practice powerful, unnatural magic. They drain our Source and decimate our beautiful lands. They’re ruthless, evil, horrible people. Any fairy you’ll ever meet will tell you the same. Sorcerers are the worst. Luckily, we can see them coming. Mages who overreach and tip into the darkness of Sorcery get Marked with Mage Mark: Ugly, curling tendrils of blue-black marks that creep across their skin. It starts at their heart and creeps up, up, up. The worst of the Sorcerers are covered in charcoal black. That’s why I wanted to see your chest before, Creepy. What do you think about that?
UGH! You’re right. That is weird.
Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?
Ohh.. I wonder who it could be. Twig, Maybe. Or Shush, or Alex. Oh! I hope it’s Alex. He’s an amazing singer and so cute! Or maybe it’s Rian. Ew! No, not Rian. Icky Mage. Besides, he’s Azi’s. That was dumb of me to say. Couldn’t be him. Who is it? Tell me!
*chuckles* Easy there, darlin. It’s a hypothetical. Sheesh! *rolls eyes dramatically*
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was little, I lived in the palace of the Fairy Q—HEY! Cut that out! I’m not telling you anything about the fairy lands. You are pretty tricky, but I’m not falling for it. Anyway, to answer your question WITHOUT telling you what it was like there…I always wanted to work to stop the Dusk, and now, with Azi, I’m doing just that!l Oh, wait. You’re just asking Ember’s questions, right? I forgot.
Breathe! *chuckles* You’re gonna give yourself a heart attack! Yes, those are Ember’s questions, but I guarantee she is not trying to learn all your secrets. Chill!
If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
Death is creepy. I don’t like talking about that. Do you have any sugar cubes? They’re my favorite. I’m starved.
Nope! No sugar cubes, but I might be able to find you a couple packets of Splenda. *Laughs*
What is the one food you can’t live without?
First of all, listen. There are some standards a fairy has to hold herself to. There are certain things I can’t just go talking about to anyone who asks, and humans can be tricky, so yes, I’m always on guard. But, I’m not uptight! That’s for Mages. You should interview Azi’s Uncle Gaethon. He’s wound up like a spider in a cyclone! Oh, and to answer your questions, one human food I really love is sugar cubes, like I just said. Sugar cubes. But you weren’t listening. Typical. What’s Splenda?
Ok, ok, I get it! Splenda *chuckles* is an artificial sweetener a lot like sugar. I’m not entirely sure you aren’t the tricky one. Is it true that fairies can’t tell a lie?
Lying is rude. Besides, it’s much more fun to come up with creative ways to tell the truth. That’s much trickier. Why’d you ask that, do you think I lied to you?
No, no, no. I had heard in stories that fairies can’t lie so they think of tricky ways to bend the truth.
If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you? You keep asking me about these strange, made-up things. It’s confusing. What’s a movie?
Hmmm. It’s kind of hard to explain. People act out scenes and they are filmed so people can watch them at a theater or on their T.V. at home.
Okay, smarty. What’s a T.V? Oh, no! I asked a question and it wasn’t my turn. I lose! It’s okay. I was getting bored, anyway.
Thanks for chatting with me it was…er… interesting! *chuckles*
Sure! I guess you’re not so bad, for a human. Maybe we can play again sometime. I’m off to search for more sugar cubes. See you around!

About the Author
Missy Sheldrake is an author/illustrator who has been conjuring images of fairies in one form or another since she was very young. The wind in the trees and the rich scent of forest earth are her most treasured sources of inspiration, and on most mornings you will find her wandering the wooded paths, dreaming of the next adventure she hopes to put to the page.
Missy was born in Connecticut and attended Western Connecticut State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Art with a concentration in painting and illustration. Even then, in her free time, she was writing. She moved to Northern Virginia several years ago and lives there now, on the outskirts of Washington D.C., with her true love and their son. She published her first novel, Call of Kythshire, in March of 2015 and intends to keep writing as long as the fairies allow it.

Special Edition Coffee with Characters
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself! Tell us who you are and what you do! Are you the main character in the story or a supporting role? What do you do for a living? How old are you?
1. Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?
Greetings. My name is Pryderi.
I am in TL’s 6th book which is yet to be published, so I’m not allowed to take part in her sexiest ‘book boy’ competition. She says it is not fair when her readers have not met me yet.
I am what you would call a vampire. I am the lead male. That is what TL says you would call me.
I’m a Watcher.
2. Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?
Distinguishable? My fangs, and my eyes that glow in the dark make me most different from humans. I am much like my own kind though, nothing special.
3. Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?
I have my clan mark. It is like a tattoo. It is on my upper arm. Humans call the pattern a Celtic Knot. Ours have dragon heads in the knot too.
4. Would you ever want to go hang out with your author? If so, what would you do together?
TL seems like a lovely lady, but she is human. I do not think it would be permitted to spend much time with her.
5. If you could have a super power what would it be, and why?
I have everything I need, including a little magick. I suppose it would be nice to fly though.
6. What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?
Having to wear a disguise when meeting humans. It is uncomfortable and makes it hard to talk.
7. What would I love the most about you?
I do not know. What do you value in people? I am very honest, maybe that?
8. What would I hate the most about you?
Humans would not like the way we hunt, I think. It is quite bloody.
9. Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
TL is very fair. She was allowed special access into our camp to interview us, and get our story. She did a good job in telling our tale.
And Rhion made sure her memory of our location was wiped, so she cannot know how to find us again, so do not ask her.
10. What is your idea of a perfect day?
Any day that is spent with Kiera.
11. What is your greatest fear?
I have no fear.
12. Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?
That would be bad. I think they should fear for their safety if Kiera found out.
13. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Watcher. I was destined to be one. It is a great honour.
14. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
The same as I have always done; protect the clan. It is my duty.
15. What is the one food you can’t live without?
Blood. I apologise. I understand humans do not like this. But I cannot live without it.
16. If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?
What is a movie?
Pardon me, I have asked Kiera and she says Ian Somerhalder.
Extra info – TL says that if you go to her blog you can read about her ‘meet the book boys’ features. There are four boys to meet (from her first four books): Mikhail, Ranulph, Jonathan and Joe.

This all sounds strange to me, but I am told you will understand the meaning of these words.
I asked Kiera to tell me about blog and Facebook. She rolled her eyes and told me not to worry.
Thank you for speaking with me.

Author Spotlight Amy J. Hamilton
[image error]
Thank you for this interview! I’d like to know more about you as a person first. What do you do when you’re not writing?
My pleasure, thank you for the opportunity! I run a small part time weight loss business. I have a husband, two teenagers, some tropical fish, a degu, a tortoise and a (flying, talking, fire breathing) bearded dragon to look after. I cross stitch things that have no real use whilst watching too much television. If I had the time I would play the piano more and maybe make more candles. I love walking whilst listening to music or an audio book.
When did you start writing?
Has to be when I was about 8 when my dad produced a rather large notepad one summer and asked me keep a diary every day. It was a habit that was with me for at least the next ten years of my life. I got through a lot of paper!
As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?
I blogged for a few years and was lucky enough to have a small following of people who said that my blog was the first thing they read when they arrived at the office. Several of them said I should write a book. When I did, firstly I was pleased it sold a few copies, but what was gratifying was the number of people who read it who told me they really enjoyed it. A few of them are even eagerly awaiting the second book. I wasn’t expecting that.
If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?
I’m sitting on the sofa in February in SE England at this point and my toes are cold, I think I’d go anywhere warmer. Or Hogwarts. With a quill. I’d quite like that.
If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?
Oh that would be amazing. I could get all the chores done meaning that I could then relax and have time to do something frivolous like cross stitch. Or maybe dig the piano out from under the pile of business stuff that makes it inaccessible.
Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?
I would like to have to confidence to set something in our modern day world. I write in a futuristic fictional world so no-one can point the finger and tell me “it doesn’t work like that”
Back to your present book, Modified: Lunar Medical book 1, how did you publish it?
Modified has been self-published as an ebook on Amazon and also on iBooks. I am contemplating producing the paperback version, just as soon as I find those extra four hours in a day!
In writing your book, did you travel anywhere for research?
No, no travelling required, just a warped sense of humour, a slippery grip on reality and whatever research might be deemed necessary to write erotica!
Why was writing Modified so important to you?
That is a very good question and the answer is bullying. All through my school life I was bullied because I was “the fat kid.” According to the classic conditioning of my childhood I was not supposed to amount to much romantically. To coin an overheard phrase from a parent back then I was supposed to be “left on the shelf.” I’ve written erotica to prove them all wrong on the understanding that in order to write it I must have at least some experience and therefore have not turned into the 45 year old virgin that I was destined to be. Or in short it’s me sticking my middle finger up to the bullies!
Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?
I was quite withdrawn as a child and cultivated an awesome imagination. I am constantly day dreaming scenes that may or may not make it into future books. I also appear to have the ability to make random links between things which can then turn into quite good story lines.
What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.
I’m currently being very nicely pestered for the book that follows Modified, which I’ll probably call Nate and Day after two of the main characters. After that I’m wondering if the people waiting for book two will be ready for Blue Lights which is male/male erotica about a cop and a medic. It’s set in a future world with flying cars that I really had hoped we’d have by now!

Coffee with Characters
I am super excited to have my next guest with me today! Her book comes out today! I got an exclusive interview with Alysson Kowalski and I have the inside scoop on her story!
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself!
Tell us who you are and what you do!
I’m Alysson Kowalski. I’m half Japanese, three eighths Polish, and one eighth Italian. It’s a combustible combo. And I’m a computer geek/mathematician.
Are you the main character in the story or a supporting role?
I’m the heroine. Except that most heroines don’t get as much sex as me
What do you do for a living?
I find mistakes and deliberate falsehoods in engineering proposals
How old are you?
I’m twenty-eight
1. Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?
I bought a house. I mean that’s really all I did. I didn’t expect it to bring me into conflict with the underbelly of society. But it did, and I had to be brave…
2. Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?
Apart from the smegging swearing. I guess it’s the fact I only have one foot
3. Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?
Oh yeah. I have the tattoo to end all tattoos. If you want to know more you’ll have to read my story.
4. Would you ever want to go hang out with your author? If so, what would you do together?
Yeah. Maybe. She’s a bit old, but she drinks like a fish so I reckon we’d have a big Italian meal and get off our tits on vino rosso
5. If you could have a super power what would it be, and why?
I’d just like to be able to run…
6. What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?
Pissant little people who spend all their lives trying to make an impression on other middle class eejits. Oh and cheats.
7. What would I love the most about you?
My cooking.
8. What would I hate the most about you?
My face
9. Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
I guess, but she didn’t have to tell all the smegging truth…
10. What is your idea of a perfect day?
Lots of sex, some sunbathing, and pasta and red wine.
11. What is your greatest fear?
Losing my other foot.
12. Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?
There really is one – a gangster who wants to keep me as a pet. In a gilded cage. And it makes me sick, physically sick
13. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Like the other kids
14. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
Be with my mum and dad. And later have lots of sex. And later still get off my tits
15. What is the one food you can’t live without?
Pasta.
16. If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?
I think it’d have to be CGI. I can’t think of any half-Japanese, four foot eleven inch actresses with only one foot.

Author Spotlight Julie Gerber with Away We Go Media!
Thank you for this interview Julie! I’d like to know more about you as a person first. What do you do when you’re not writing?
I am at my desk, working on beta reading or social media campaigns for clients. When I am not working, I am either reading, watching movies with my kids, or daydreaming about moving to the beach.
When did you start writing?
I started writing in middle school. I published a piece in the newspaper and my mom said from that point on that I would be a writer one day. I didn’t believe her. Fast forward a few (okay maybe more than a few) years, and here I am!
As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?
The most pivotal point came about four years ago when I met Carole P. Roman. She made it look so easy. She was cranking out books and I was trying to keep up since I was managing her social media. She taught me a lot about writing and how to put yourself into a character’s mind. She has been a wonderful and inspiring mentor and friend.
If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?
Scotland or Ireland. I feel there is magic there and if I could sit in an old stone house (or even a castle if I could afford it) I think I could whip up the most enchanting tale ever written. That might be a stretch, but then again, it might not!
If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?
Sleep. I never get a full six to eight hours sleep and that is what I would do if I had the time. Can you arrange it?
Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?
I would like to set a story in Savannah, Georgia. Georgia is my home state, and there is so much about Savannah that begs to be written. I am fascinated every time I go.
Back to your present book, Navigating Indieworld, how did you publish it?
I published it with Carole P. Roman through Createspace. We were offered a contract to publish, but felt that the book, which is about self-publishing and marketing, should be done the indie way.
In writing your book, did you travel anywhere for research?
I did not, but maybe I should have. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to meet up with Carole in some indie bookstore after splurging on ice cream.
Why was writing Navigating Indieworld so important to you?
This book was very near and dear to my heart. I have had so many authors find me over the years because they needed advice after being burned by a vanity publisher. This book was created for all of them. It was created for anyone struggling with marketing and selling their books. It was created for the people that were brave enough to write their stories down and then stare at them, wondering what they should do next. I hope we have helped aspiring authors and the published authors that wondered what was next.
Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?
I get my ideas from experiences. Navigating Indieworld is based on daily experiences and other author’s frustrations.
What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.
I am working on my first solo book. It is based on the story of my great aunt, one of the first women to become a doctor in the mountains of North Carolina. I think her story is one that should be told and I believe it will be appreciated.
Part II
These are the super fun get to know the author questions. Basically similar to Would you rather.
Q: Winter or Summer? Summer! I hate the cold!
Q: Salad or Soup? Soup. I love soup!
Q: Swimming in a lake or the ocean?? Ocean! I would rather deal with a shark than an alligator.
Q: Coffee or Soda? Soda. I hate coffee, but I do love the way it smells.
Q: Cruise or Resort? Resort. Hands down. I would hate to get stuck on a ship with a lot of sick people!

So here we go! An excerpt of my new release! Beautiful Delusions!
GRIFFIN
Saturday morning I went for my run, just like every other morning. Running helped to clear my head. After the endless sex dreams I had of Kaylee the night before, releasing that pent up energy was something I definitely needed. Too bad the universe hated me because no matter how many miles I did, I knew would not get a clear head from my run. My phone rang about two miles in and I had to stop.
“What’s up?”
“Hey man, Trey just called. He said he might have a lead on the hacker, and he needs my help. Can you watch Kaylee today?” Mac asked.
“What about Twitch?”
“Man, you know Twitch goes and volunteers at the old folk’s home every Saturday,” he reminded me.
I hung my head and blew out a strangled breath. This was not how I planned to spend my day, but I didn’t trust anyone else watching Kaylee.
“All right, I’ll run home and shower, then I will go sit at her house.”
There was an audible sigh of relief on the other end of the line and I knew he was worried about her too.
“What’s going on, Mac?” I asked.
“I have a bad feeling about this guy who’s been following her. He doesn’t match the description or the mugshot of the guy who beat her in Texas,” he said slowly.
“What do you mean? I thought you said it was Tyler!” I raged.
“Chill Griffin! I thought it was but I just got the file on him, and the guy I have been seein’ doesn’t look like the guy who is in this mugshot. For one, he is much too tall.”
“Shit! So if it’s not Tyler then who the fuck is it?” I asked myself as well as Mac.
“I don’t know, bro, but whatever you do, don’t let her out of your sight today.”
“There is no chance of that happening. I’ll be there in an hour,” I replied and hung up.
I pushed myself harder than I had in years. I made it back to the apartment in fourteen minutes and six seconds. I was showered and out the door in no time. I took Bella, my Alaskan Huskie and retired service dog, with me for company. She loved going for rides in the truck.
It was a couple hours of sitting outside Kaylee’s house before there was any kind of action. Tara showed up and Kaylee brought two of the most beautiful kids (besides my nephew) out of the house and to Tara’s truck. Kaylee’s daughter looked just like her but with darker features. She had olive toned skin and dark chocolate brown hair and eyes. She was tall. Kaylee was not short in girl-terms, but I knew Leanne was only eleven and almost her height. She had long lean muscles where her mom was curvier.
Lance was only three, yet he was a giant three year old. He probably made my little nephew Mikey look like a doll. Lance had light skin and hair and hazel eyes. He was pudgy where his sister was thin, but they both looked just like her.
I waited for Tara to pull out of the driveway and drive a ways before I started following them.
They pulled into the busy park next to Leanne’s school and let the kids out. I was happy at least one thing was going right that day. At a park I would be able to walk relatively close without them seeing me. I got Bella’s collar out of the glove box and opened the door to the truck.
“Come on, Bella!” I called, and she jumped down and waited for me to put her leash on.
My phone started ringing and I realized it was Tara. I looked up and saw a crowd standing around near the pavilion.
“Tara? What’s wrong?” I asked, concerned.
“How close are you to River…?”
I interrupted her words. “I’m here, walking my dog, where are you?”
“The pavilion, Kaylee is having an episode.” She sounded nervous.
I hung up and ran with Bella to the pavilion and found Kaylee huddled on the ground rocking back and forth. I never got used to seeing someone having a flashback. Eyes open, but unseeing.
She was seeing something completely different from reality. I couldn’t help but scoop her into my arms and wait for it to pass. That had to be the most helpless feeling in the world.
