Watch out, there's an escapee

Billion Dollar Mountain by Jane Jago

It sneaked out of its cage yesterday. Please pursue and if you see it doing something disgusting in the undergrowth you have my permission to smack its pink bottom...

What is fantasy?

Be led like a child, by the hand
Through sci-fi and fantasy land
By steampunk, by fable
By queens dressed in sable
Wherever your mind dragon lands

Never too old?

You are old so you shouldn't bedazzle
You should be both faded and frazzled
It shouldn't be you
With a Harley (brand new)
And a Swarovski Crystal vajazzle

More disgraceful behaviour

You are old, and that prompts me to ask

How certain events came to pass

How you got a gold fang

And a piercing that hangs

And a dragon tattooed on your ass

Growing old disgracefully

You are old so you shouldn't do that
You should only like knitting. And cats
It shouldn't be you
With a brand-new tattoo
Making love on an old yoga mat

It's over

The spring book attack is no more. If you missed out....

I'm amazed to note more than 200 downloads. If ten per cent turn into decent reviews I've cracked it....

Thanks to everyone who dropped by and helped to make the event successful for all the authors.

A heads up for discerning readers

Coming to a kindle near you.

Trust a Few: book one of the The Haruspex Trilogy.

Haruspex brings us books four to six of the Fortunes Fools triple trilogy. And perhaps it brings us a step closer to understanding the lives of the protagonists as they struggle to survive in a place where brutality is the common coin and life is held very cheaply indeed.

To read these books is to be drawn into a world where the certainties that ground us in the here and now are shaken to their very foundations. We are asked to examine precisely what it is that makes us individuals, and to suspend our judgement within the framework of what constitutes 'good' and what 'evil'.

Take this journey if you dare. You might never look at the world through quite the same eyes.

E M Swift Hook has given us a five-star read that shines brightly in our one-star world. Hugely recommended

Film reviews

Is it just me, or have film reviews really lost the plot?

I try not to listen to/read them, but every now and again I get ambushed.

Thus, a couple of days ago, I found myself listening to a bloke who looked as if he could do with the attentions of a hairbrush pontificating about Kafkaesque darkness. Okay, I thought, maybe it's a real bit of film noir (although that term is a bloody exercise in making itself important). Anyway, while I was extracting the remote control from under the dog's backside, I discovered what the eejits was talking about.

A freaking musical....

I rest my case.
