Cutter review and release blitz, Laramie Briscoe

I was apprehensive about this book. When Cutter was first mention in Random’s book I got major gay vibes from him. Even at certain points in this book I got them. But that isn’t why this book fell a little flat for me. I felt as if we never really got to know Cutter and Rowan passed the trauma they both have. Also, their relationship was lacking the wooing that gives you all the feels. I wanted to know who they are, why they do what they do but I didn’t get that. I also kind of resented the implications (fictional or not) about the university of Alabama football program. Yes, I know it’s fictional, I just think things could’ve been tweaked so it didn’t directly implicate the fictional coaching staff. I wanted to like this book, it just lacked some things for me, sorry.

varsity heartbreaker review and blog tour, Ginger Scott

This is a great, typically Ginger story. I love that she writes imperfect heroes and slightly awkward heroines, it gives her books such an authentic feel.I love Lucas and June. They’re such great characters individually and together, they’re fantastic. I also love Abby and Tory and can’t wait for their story! There’s a few twists in this book I wasn’t expecting, but I loved! This is a good, real story with real characters you can identify with and want to be their friend.
Definitely give it a go!!

Prince of Hearts review and release blitz, L.A. Cotton

I have a hard time with retellings. I get the original story in my head and I get caught up on comparing the new story to the old one.I like this twist on Romeo and Juliet. It’s modern, and fresh, with enough differences to set it apart from the original.I like Arianne. She’s a little too innocent for me, but it works for the story.I would’ve liked to have seen more feelings from Nicco, but he’s solid too.I did find it a tad slow to start, but at the back end, it’s the supporting cast who make this book. Nora, matteo, enzo, Bailey, alissa, Luis, they’re great.
I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one!

QUEEN MOVE CHAIR AN TEASER

Excerpt:

“You’re fucking brilliant.”

“Huh?” Ezra asks absentmindedly, paying more attention to the flame under his pan than to my compliment. “What’d you say?”

“I said you’re brilliant.” I hold up the iPad I’m using to read his manuscript. “Your book, the YLA story, is incredible, Ez.”

“Oh. Thanks.” He flashes me a smile and then goes back to his French toast. “The key to getting this right is the milk-to-bread ratio.”

I hop off the counter and walk over to stand beside him at the stove. “Would you forget about your French toast for a minute and listen to me?”

“But it’s stuffed French toast.” He takes the pan off the burner and pulls me into his arms. “And I could listen to you all day. What were you saying? Something about me being a handsome, sexy genius?”

“Um…those weren’t my exact words.” I laugh up at him.

“I could have sworn that’s what you said, and I’m never wrong.” He slides his hands over my ass in a pair of his boxer shorts. “Some even say I’m fucking brilliant.”

“They probably just like your big dick,” I whisper and blink up at him as innocently as I can manage.

“I get that a lot.” He drops a kiss on my head and turns back to his French toast. I lean down to rest an elbow on the counter and watch him work.

“A lot?” I ask teasingly. “Have there been a lot?”

He pauses mid-toast-flip and slants me a glance. “Are you asking how many people I’ve had sex with?”

“I mean, it’s none of my business. If you don’t want to—”

“Eight.”

Eight?

Lord above, only eight?!

“Oh.” I straighten and rest my hip against the counter. “What a, um, single-digit number that is.”

“What about you?”

What about me? I’m tabulating years of hook-ups, one-night stands, fuck bois and carrying the one.

“If you don’t want to,” he says, cracking an egg into a bowl, “it’s fine. I don’t care how many people—”

“I don’t know.”

He glances up from whisking eggs, a small frown puckering his dark brows. “You don’t know what?”

“My number. I don’t know how many people I’ve been with.”

He resumes whisking, his frown clearing. “Oh.”

The whisking eggs and whirring refrigerator are the only sounds in the kitchen. I’ve never been embarrassed by my choices. I enjoy sex. I’ve had it with a lot of people. People I really liked…or tolerated…but didn’t want to commit to. I’ve always been safe and never mean about it. I was upfront, and when someone wanted more, I let them know “more” wasn’t an option.

“I just never…” I cross my arms over my stomach, fold one bare foot over the other. “I haven’t been interested in committed relationships. There hasn’t been anyone I wanted that with.”

“Tru.” He stops whisking and gives me the full impact of his undivided attention. His eyes are placid blue. No shadows or undercurrents. “I don’t care.” Ezra pushes the bowl aside and faces me. “But there is something I feel like we should be clear on regarding how you’ve handled sex in the past.”

Here we go.

“You’ve never wanted to commit before,” he says.

“Right. I’ve never wanted any strings attached.”

“I know I said we could be just sex, no emotional attachments.” He shoves his hands in his pockets. “But I feel like I have to be honest with you. Having you back in my life has been…it’s been exactly what I need, and what I felt last night… I’ve never felt that way before.”

I’m not even sure my heart is beating, but it also feels like there’s a tumult in my chest. “What are you saying, Ez?”

His mouth flattens into a hard line and his jaw hardens to stone. “I want strings.”

“Y-you do?”

“I want strings.” He links our fingers, strokes his thumb across my palm. “Ropes, if necessary. I want anything that keeps you with me and me with you and tells everyone else don’t even think about it.”

I’m stunned and incredibly turned on, but that doesn’t take much where Ezra’s concerned.

“You…you do?” I ask faintly…again.

“I wouldn’t do well sharing you.”

OF silver and shadow review, Jennifer Gruenke

3.5 stars.
This was a bit of a weird book for me. I loved the cast, but the events of the story unfold so slowly! It legitimately took me until 75% of this book to fully get into it, the events happening and the story moving forward. I also have to mention here that the events that do take place are fairly simple and unsophisticated. I was expecting so many more complicated things to happen or consequences to the action but they never arose. On the bright side, the cast was great. Ren is awesome, Darek, Markus, Riko, and Kellen are charming.I also liked the queer relations contained within, even if I thought the romance as a whole was foreshadowed too much.
I think this book has promise, and I hope the second book leaves off where this one finishes, and provides more action, which I do think it needs.

Savage review and release blitz, Tracey Lorraine

I really enjoyed Ethan and Rae’s story. They’re great characters and I loved reading about them.Ethan is incredible. One of my favourite character traits is the severely flawed with a heart of gold, and although it takes a while, that’s Ethan.I loved that Rae stood up to Ethan, she didn’t take what he threw at her lying down.Where this book fell down a little for me was the writing. There were heaps of info dumps and moments of I did this, then this, then this, and this happened and then I did that. It did detract a little from the story.
But overall, this is a great bully romance, give it a go!

Rule: the finale review and release blitz, LA Cotton

I wanted to love this book so much, I loved the first 2 parts of this story, but this fell flat to me. It felt rushed and under developed and just sad.To start, we never see Rafe, Levi, and Eva hash anything out. We never see Levi and Eva have a heart to heart which I so badly wanted. We barely even see Rafe and Levi talk. Everything is just okay, when some pretty major things happened at the end of the second book. I wanted an actual reconciliation and I didn’t get it. It left me wanting. Also, Rafe and Eva say “I love you” so many times in this book, like SO many. We get it, it doesn’t need to repeated so much.Thirdly, I’m kind of disappointed everything between them ended up with sex. I wanted to see Rafe be romantic and work to get Eva. I’m also concerned just how dependent he was on her. It felt really unhealthy.Fourth, I’m not sure how he got to that place. He wasn’t like that in the second book so I wanted to see a better explanation of what was worrying him. But again, it was just left to get better, not really worked on.
As I said, I wanted so badly to love this book, but it fell disappointingly short. Sorry!
