Pareto’s Law: A Law that is right there but you can’t see

For this blog, I would like to go about explaining my concept in a different manner than before. I wish to explain to my readers something called the 80:20 Law and how to successfully incorporate this into our lives and the benefits of the said incorporation. But before I can explain its relevance, I need to explain the law itself. Consider the following examples:

20% of the movies earn 80% of all the revenue, be it Hollywood or Indian Film Industry World’s 80% of wealth lies with the riches...

I CAN SEE YOUR PRIORITIES…

Before initiating any minor or major change in your life, it will do you a sea of good if you must stop and ask yourself whether or not it is really an important priority of your life. Is it worth your time, energy and efforts or can this be avoided for it serves no purpose in the grand scheme of things? Not only will this save us from useless ventures but this kind of questioning helps us to improve our skills of introspection and self-awareness.

You might not realise it yourself but your a...

the importance of being focused

I always say that identifying your ambition is crucial but after that comes a lifetime of focused action, perseverance and passion for fulfilling your vision. But more often than not, I find people faltering when it comes to either identifying their desire or after identifying, there is a huge degree of procrastination, lack of focus and absence of interest that comes into the picture.

To enunciate this, I shall take help of a theory posited by Zig Ziegler and I find this a very powerful ide...

A right for every wrong; the importance of penance

Penance

For many, it may sound like a word which is too philosophical and heavy but very few know its impact on leading a positive life. No life is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, leaving one with remorse, sadness and the ever lingering question of what if we hadn’t done it. According to the dictionary, penance is an act of self-mortification or devotion performed voluntarily to express sorrow f...

THE MINDSET THAT KEEPS YOU GOING…

I have successfully outlined for you the extremely harmful default mindsets that are present in almost every person, standing in their path to ultimate success and happiness. It is easy to say that the mindset of an individual who has attained both personal and professional success and satisfaction is the exact opposite of the fifteen thought processes mentioned in the previous posts. But I would want to discuss it in a little depth so that we have closure on this topic.

A success minded hum...

SAYING NO AND TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH

Let us see three other default mindsets.

Default Mindset 10: Doing what is popular and appearing to be right

With our increasing need for validation on social media in the form of innumerable likes, re-tweets and shares, the need to be popular and “trending” has overshadowed the need to be genuine, compassionate and worthy. This anxious need for support from the community makes us cultivate a culture of pretence where we concentrate on looking right but not doing the correct thing. This mind...

I THINK THEREFORE I AM: THINKING ABOUT THINKING

Even if one is not familiar with the works of Rene Descartes, you must have stumbled across his most famous saying at some point in your life:

                                           I think – therefore I am

The philosophical depth of five simple words is astounding. Descartes’ idea is based on the understanding that not all we see or societal conventions have labeled as true contain truth. It is the human conscience, our ability to perceive, question and comprehend that triumphs.

Humans...

THE BICYCLE OF BALANCE; GAINING STABILITY IN LIFE

Imagine yourself in a workshop where bicycles are being made. On the floor lie every element of a bicycle but the final vehicle hasn’t been constructed. While the individual components are the building blocks, can anything be achieved with them unless they are combined in the appropriate fashion and in the correct balance? Only when the pieces are assembled and involved in a proper relationship with each other will the final vehicle be functional. It is thus quite easy to infer that the whole...
