THE MINDSET THAT KEEPS YOU GOING…
I have successfully outlined for you the extremely harmful default mindsets that are present in almost every person, standing in their path to ultimate success and happiness. It is easy to say that the mindset of an individual who has attained both personal and professional success and satisfaction is the exact opposite of the fifteen thought processes mentioned in the previous posts. But I would want to discuss it in a little depth so that we have closure on this topic.
A success minded hum...
Wrapping up our default mindsets
Let us look at the last three default mindsets before going on to what exactly constitutes a successful mindset.
DEFAULT MINDSET 11: URGENCY ADDICTION
To get an understanding of time management, I would like to suggest Stephen Covey’s “First Things First” where he expostulates that very few urgent tasks are important and very few important tasks are urgent. We need to carefully understand this. If you are constantly in a hurry and completely disoriented when it comes to finishing your tasks,...

SAYING NO AND TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH
Let us see three other default mindsets.
Default Mindset 10: Doing what is popular and appearing to be right
With our increasing need for validation on social media in the form of innumerable likes, re-tweets and shares, the need to be popular and “trending” has overshadowed the need to be genuine, compassionate and worthy. This anxious need for support from the community makes us cultivate a culture of pretence where we concentrate on looking right but not doing the correct thing. This mi...
EATING HEALTHY, INTROSPECTING AND NOT LOOKING FOR GUARANTEES
We shall now look into a few other default mindsets from my list of 15 traits in thinking.
Default Mindset 7: Wants Guarantee
If you closely study the history of great inventions, there had always been a point when its inventor was discouraged by all for working on a plan that had no probability of success. Yet, they persisted and in the end, each one of them changed the world with their creations. Thus, no leap of faith comes with a high probability of success and the decisions that do promi...
WHY SHOULD YOU PAY, WORK AND TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
We continue with our discussion on default mindsets that hinder our vision.
Default Mindset 4: Post-Paid Success
To explain post-paid success, the example of phone bills would be relatable where we opt for post-paid services in which the payment comes at the end. Sadly, I find this mentality prevalent when it comes to life choices as well. We want the pleasing results first and think about the payment much later. Some do not consider paying at all. Stephen Covey’s Law of the Farm states that...
WANTING IT FAST, COMFORTABLE AND FREE
To rectify default mindsets is a difficult task because of the sheer number of people following them and human bend towards the herd mentality. But defying them and rising above them means carving out a niche for yourself in the field of your choice.
Default Mindset 1: Short-Term Thinking
You must familiar with the term “just go with the flow” signifying resignation to current events and acting according to need of the hour. But is this a correct approach? Having long-term ambitions and a det...
WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND? SUCCESS SETTINGS VERSUS DEFAULT MEMBERS
While I believe that as humans, we have extremely exceptional capabilities and are capable of achieving wondrous feats, we do possess some default mindsets that could cause us great harm if they are not rectified at the earliest. What do I mean by default mindsets? Through this term, I wish to indicate certain common trends in thinking that I consider as hindrances to the process of following our dreams and fulfilling our vision. I have identified fifteen such traits, and each of us is born w...
BEING THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF…
As readers or film enthusiasts, we find so many writings or films who tell us to listen to our hearts. But you must have found those words too idealistic and easier said than done. But I would like to tell you that it is absolutely true. As you proceed with my book, you will find that I consider conventional logic and norms of society to be absolutely outdated and having no positive influence it comes to living a happy life. More on that bit later but I have always been a strong proponent of...
Who is your Master? Letting vision show the way
Great accomplishments need a strong emotional and spiritual base. We need this optimistic foundation that will serve as our pillar of support in this long and often difficult, journey of achieving our dreams. Let me explain using a familiar example; that of myself!
I have been fortunate enough to be able to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by breaking the record for the “Longest Marathon Speech” twice and the last one clocked a whopping sixty hours and thirty minutes. A common questio...
GUIDED BY FOCUS; DERAILED BY CRAVINGS
Cravings of the body and tongue are the most common, but human, deterrents to our vision. Temptations are a part of life and meditation, yoga or music is often stated as cures. But for me, these are temporary methods and the potency of enticements cannot be countered by such basic means. I suggest a higher involvement of spiritual resources to help us rise above them and live a peaceful life devoted to our goals. Life’s purpose and mission humble us at the spiritual and emotional level and th...
