I Love An Author That Can Make Me Laugh
The latest author able to make me laugh is Lisa Scott. You probably saw me mention her on Twitter or Facebook recently, but her short story “Spooked by Love” made me laugh out loud twice! So here I am, mentioning her again. No, I don’t know her. No, I’m not getting free Milky Way bars for this endorsement (but Lisa, if you’re reading, I am physically unable to say no to Milky Way bars. *wink*)
Anyway, what authors make you laugh out loud?
Is comedy a dying breed? Are there still good romantic comedy authors out there? If so, please share. I miss them. I miss laughing and smiling till my cheeks hurt. How about you?

Anywho… the reason I’m talking about respect…
I followed a link from Cassandra Carr to the BDSM Authors Playroom blog. The topic was being a BDSM couple in public and how to go about it. I’m pulling this paragraph because it got me thinking:
As far as the treatment/respect thing goes, a service submissive can still serve her Master no matter where they are. At a party? Maybe the sub can make sure the Dom’s drink is never empty, or that he always has someone to talk to. Maybe the sub could watch for signs of fatigue and make sure the Dom sits, or the sub can rub his shoulders.
The reason I pointed this out is that it strikes me as sad that this is considered a sub/Dom thing. Serving the Dom. Making sure his drink is never empty? Shouldn’t we be doing that in all relationships? Isn’t that just the thoughtful, gracious thing to do? And I’m not just talking about ladies filling their fella’s glass. Oh no boys, you’re not getting off (haha) that easily. I think it’s the man’s responsibility to make sure his woman is having a good time. That her drink is full. That her feet are well massaged.
But I digress.
If the only way I’m going to be in a thoughtful, mutually respectful relationship where we make sure the other person is having a good time, drinks are filled, no one is too tired, and bodies parts are massaged is via a Dom/sub relationship then sign me up. But I really hope that this sort of thoughtful relationship isn’t exclusive to those in the lifestyle. Perhaps we all just need lessons on that front.

That Car Is How Much? :: Infographic
A few weeks ago, I mentioned crashing a very expensive car. What can I say? It’s all in a days work. I love my job!
In one of my upcoming books, the heroine crashes a Bugatti Veyron. The one she was driving was worth 2.5 million $$. (Seriously, if you’re gonna go big, go BIG!)
I thought you might like a peek at some of the other most expensive cars in the world.
Happy Monday Morning!

Writers: A Spreadsheet to Track Your Progress
Several (don’t count, please) months ago, I gave a talk on software that makes my life easier. I mentioned that I am now a spreadsheet addict (there’s not a 12 step program for this, btw) and several folks asked if I’d be willing to share my spreadsheet.
This is the new and improved version that I’ve been using recently. The idea is to track your progress and when you wrote so that you can get a better idea of when your optimal writing time is. Even if you don’t need to figure that out, you can still use the other columns in this spreadsheet.
Appropriate for all genres & non-fiction writers too. These were created and saved in Excel. Let me know if you have questions, comments, or need a CSV, PDF or OpenDoc.

Review of Ready And Willing
Gaele from Booked and Loaded said:
” There is sexual tension, not truly relieved with some smoking hot sex scenes near the end of the book, and it is a romance with a happy-for-now ending”

Do You Know Who Your Allies Are?
Did you miss last night’s cry fest? I’m talking about the one on Dancing with the Stars. Oh yes, they really played up the argument between Bristol and Mark. For those of you who don’t watch the show and/or know who I’m talking about…
Bristol Palin is the daughter of former Vice Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin. Yes, she’s popular but not exactly a star. Who cares. I love an underdog and Bristol is certainly that.
Mark Ballas is her professional partner. Also a two time winner of DWTS.
Mark and Bristol were teamed up several seasons ago and they came in third. Third. It was amazing and shocking…mostly b/c Bristol isn’t the best dancer. But she tries and she did improve.
She’s back this season since it’s All Stars.
Mark seems to genuinely be in Bristol’s corner. And the first go round, there wasn’t a single rumor about them fighting.
This go round, Bristol has lost some weight (good for you, honey. You look fabulous.) and seems to be coming our of her shell. A little bit anyway. But I can only imagine how tough it is to be a young woman in a skimpy outfit on a show like that. With America watching. Which is why I think she deserves a pat on the back.
Mark, as always, is in her corner. But for whatever reason (and I’m blaming PMS) Bristol had a little meltdown last week and accused Mark of wishing he had one of his previous partners (several of which are on the current season, since it’s All Stars season.) She also claims that he wants to get sent home.
This made me wonder…do we know who are allies are? Does Bristol? From everything I’ve seen about the two of them (on the show, on the news and via their tweets) Mark seems to really care about her. He seems to like her and root for her and understand her.
After they aired the clip of the two of them fighting last night, I took to Twitter: Bristol, seriously. Mark is your biggest ally in your whole life. Get over it. #DWTS
Is seems like the whole world doubts Bristol…except for Mark.
Among all the haters, he is her ally. He’s the one supporting her when the rest of America wonders why she’s still on the show.
It’s sad to me that we, as human beings, could lose sight of those who are truly in our corner. That we’d strike out at our allies. That we would distrust our friends. But that’s what makes us human… our emotions.
I can only hope that we all find allies in our life. And that we trust them and love them and nurture those relationships.
