As the years pass, I’ve come to realize that the most beautiful...

As the years pass, I’ve come to realize that the most beautiful things I create are the imperfect things, the things that reflect my own wildness and wonder. ✨ Like this quote I just painted. I love hand lettering and calligraphy. I’ve been doing it for years now, and yet…look at this thing I just created! It’s messy. My words float crookedly on the paper. Every letter does it’s own thing, untamed. ✨ I did not follow the “rules” of calligraphy, or even those of bounce calligraphy. I just…painted and wrote them how I wanted to, and in the past I would have been immensely frustrated by it. I was (and to be honest, sometimes still am) always seeking perfectionism, but where is the truth in that? Life is messy and unpredictable and the things we create should reflect at least a glimpse of that. ✨ So don’t let perfectionism stop you from creating the things you want to make, from finding joy in the process and the end result. Your mind may have imagined your art to emerge one way, but let your heart be the one that finds it way onto the page.✨

Today’s reading nook.✨ I’m excited to dive into some nonfiction I’ve had on my TBR for a while. I find that reading history books (and cookbooks, even!) provides some of the best inspiration for stories. ✨ What about you? What are you currently reading? ✨

Last month, I bought my first @passionplanner … and if you’ve read my books, you know *exactly* why I was drawn to this pretty little planner.
