February Reading Wrap-Up

Yes, I know it’s March. I am two days behind schedule in posting this…but it’s partly February’s fault for not falling in line and having thirty/thirty-one days like a normal month. Way to be a hipster, February.Did I meet my February reading goal of six books? Nope…I exceeded it and read eight! Did I read all the books I said I would…yes and no. SorryMagiciansfans…I just couldn’t hammer through. It’s brilliant writing, but I’m just not in the headspace for this trilogy. I made it halfway through The Magician King and had to hit the brakes. I’m setting it (and The Magician’s Land) aside in my “waiting for Amazon to deliver something” pile.WithGrossman’s trilogy off the table, I picked upJohn Green’sLooking for Alaska, which I’ve been meaning to read forever. (But is there ever really a good time to read a book that youknowis going to make you bawl your eyes out?) It was lovely and heartbreaking and brisk and I loved (most) of it. If this one’s not on high school reading lists, it should be, amiright?I broke down and readThe Grisha Trilogytoo. (I know, I know, I swore I wouldn’t!) I knew it was going to be amazing…I was trying to strategically save it for a reading slump…but I just couldn’t help myself! And it was EVERYTHING. Reviews to come. I read the entire series in five days.Bardugo, you are a goddess. Now give me a Nikolai Lantsov spinoff before I die.And I finishedThe Raven Cycle! Y’all…read it. [If you need convincing, check out my reviews on booksoneandtwo] I am aStiefvaterfan for life after that Ronan/Adam slow-burn.  I cannot wait to get more Maggie on my shelf.I’m setting a modest goal of three books for the month of March…the next three inSarah J. Maas'sThrone Of Glassepic. [Ireviewed TOGlast year and have been waiting for a good time to binge-read the remaining, I don’t know, eightybooks in this series.]Here are the books I read in February and my star-ratings:The Raven BoysbyMaggie Stiefvater- 3 StarsThe Dream ThievesbyMaggie Stiefvater- 4 StarsBlue Lily, Lily BluebyMaggie Stiefvater- 4 StarsThe Raven KingbyMaggie Stiefvater- 5 StarsLooking For AlaskabyJohn Green- 4 StarsShadow And BonebyLeigh Bardugo- 4 StarsSiege And StormbyLeigh Bardugo- 5 StarsRuin And RisingbyLeigh Bardugo- 5 StarsCheck out my March reading list below!Crown of MidnightbySarah J.
