Many times I have received emails thanking me for writing a certain article or essay, or poem, because it spoke to someone, helped a person in some way. That to me, is priceless. (less)

From a literary standpoint, it would have to be Katherine and Michael from Forever by Judy Blume. This was my first book that dealt with real adult themes and it really spoke to me. I fell in love with the characters. Some of the themes of the book - sex, suicide, depression - hit very close to home.

As far as theatrical couples, as soon as I watched the movie Notting Hill, Anna Scott and William Thacker became one of my favorite couples. It's a modern spin on an old tale and the characters were perfect from their first lines.(less)

Steve Jobs
“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
Steve Jobs

William W. Purkey
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
William W. Purkey

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
Marilyn Monroe

Friedrich Nietzsche
“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols

J.K. Rowling
“If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
